Abstract
Description
- The present invention refers to a space-saving bag for sliced cold meat according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Salami and cold meats in general are currently commercialised, as well as through direct cutting of the meat at the moment of sale, also in sealed packages as bags or pans.
-
WO 2005/082741 discloses foodstuff packages according to the preamble of claim 1 which consist of at least two sachets hinged one to another wherein at least one of the sachets may have a handle formed integrally with it. - Such packages occupy a certain space on the shelves or in the refrigerated display cases intended for them and do not allow the consumer to take a quick glance at all of the products available.
- It should also be considered that the space available to display each product is generally limited.
- Another problem that arises with packages according to the prior art, and in particular with rigid pans, is linked to their bulk in disposal after use.
- The Applicant has thus noticed the need to make a casing for sliced cold meat that has low bulk both when full and after use whilst still being appealing to the eye of the possible consumer.
- The Applicant has solved the aforementioned problem by providing a space-saving bag for sliced cold meat according to what is outlined in claim 1.
- Further characteristics of the invention and significant variants thereof form the object of the dependent claims.
- According to a first aspect of the invention a space-saving bag for sliced cold meat is therefore provided comprising at least two sheets of transparent plastic material for foodstuffs joined together at least along the edges and containing the sliced meat packaged in a protected atmosphere, the bag is folded and held in position through a sticker and is equipped with hooking means to hang it up.
- According to another aspect of the invention the bag is folded along a central directrix.
- According to a different aspect of the invention, the bag is rolled up into cylindrical or conical form.
- The characteristics and advantages of a space-saving bag for sliced cold meat according to the present invention shall become clearer from the following description, given as a non-limiting example, referring to the attached schematic drawings in which:
-
figures 1A-1D illustrate perspective views of various details making up the space-saving bag and the assembled space-saving bag according to the invention; -
figures 2A-2D ,3A-3D ,4A-4D , illustrate perspective views of various details making up the space-saving bag and the assembled space-saving bag according to different embodiments of the invention; -
figures 5-7 illustrate perspective views of different embodiments of the space-saving bag according to the invention. - With reference to the figures, a space-saving bag 10 for sliced
cold meat 11 comprises at least twosheets 12 of transparent plastic material for foodstuffs joined together at least along theedges 13 and containing the slicedmeat 11 packaged in a protected atmosphere. - In the preferred but not exclusive embodiment, the bag is quadrangular shaped possibly with smoothed or rounded edges and has first
parallel sides 13a and secondparallel sides 13b substantially perpendicular to the first. - The bag 10 is folded and held in position through a
sticker 14 and is equipped withhooking means 15 to hang it up on a rack or on suitable supports of a stand or display case. - The plastic material for foodstuffs making up the sheets in which the sliced
meat 11 is sealed is preferably polyethylene, although other polymers are also suitable for the purpose. - The two
sheets 12 are joined for example through heat sealing carried out at least along theperimetric edge 13 to keep the slicedmeat 11 in the necessary conditions of conservation safeguarding its characteristics of freshness and flavour. - To obtain the space-saving packaging effect to optimise its display on the shelves or in the refrigerated display cases, the bag thus made is folded along a middle line 13' and kept folded thanks to the
sticker 14 glued to the edges of the bag. - In particular, with reference to
figures 1A-1D , the twosheets 12 housing the sliced meat are welded together along theedges 13 and are folded along the middle line ideally represented with 13', thesticker 14, having aneyelet 15 as hooking means, obtained through punching of aportion 16 of the sticker itself, is glued to the twoopposite edges 13b at the fold of the bag. - According to a different embodiment illustrated in
figures 2A-2D and3A-3D , the space-saving bag 10 is rolled up preferably in cylindrical form (but it could also be conical) and always kept as such through thesticker 14. - To hang up the bag thus manufactured the
hooking means 15 are foreseen fixed along the body of the folded bag or through aportion 16 punched directly from the sticker (figures 2A-2D ) to hang the bag up horizontally, or else through an adhesive portion 16' fixed directly along the profile close to one of thesides 13b (figures 3A-3D ) to hang up the bag vertically on the appropriate supports. - In another embodiment illustrated in
figures 4A-4D , the bag is divided into two compartments separated by awelding line 17 so as to be able to open one compartment at a time and conserve the sealed sliced meat for longer. - In such an embodiment the bag is folded along the
welding line 17 and remains flatter than folding without welding line. -
Figure 5 illustrates a different way of applying the sticker to the bag according to the embodiment illustrated infigures 1A-1D , with attachment along theside 13b (hung vertically). -
Figure 6 illustrates a different way of applying the sticker to the bag according to the embodiment illustrated infigures 1A-1D , with attachment along the back of the fold identified by the middle line 13' (hung horizontally). -
Figure 7 illustrates a different way of applying the sticker to the bag according to the embodiment illustrated infigure 4A-4D , with attachment of thesticker 14 along theside 13b (hung vertically). - The bag made according to the described methods allows the available space to be optimised, environmentally friendly disposal of the packaging after use and is pleasing to the eye of the possible consumer.
