Abstract

The device (1) has a support (90), and massage parts rotatably mounted on the support. The massage parts comprise a pair of flexible lips engaging with a region to be treated and bend when the device is applied on the region to be treated. The support comprises two flexible branches (8, 9) deformed during utilization of the device. A protection cover is fixed on the support in a removable manner.

Description

The present invention relates to massage devices.

There are applicators with a rigid flat caster with pimples on the outside to massage the face. These applicators are not suitable for the local treatment of deep wrinkles because they are relatively aggressive for the skin and often too bulky.

There are also applicators formed of a handle and a rigid disk, or two rigid disks that roll on the epidermis without creating tension on the skin. Such applicators are not very effective in treating wrinkles and activating microcirculation.

The patent US 5,218,955 discloses a massage device comprising rotary massage members.

Requirement US 2005/0020948 discloses a massage device comprising at least one massage member integral with a container.

There is a need to benefit from a massage device that is relatively less aggressive with respect to the skin and that makes it possible to treat the epidermis, so as, for example, to activate the microcirculation and / or perform lymphatic drainage and / or to fight against aging skin and / or promote the penetration or action of active ingredients and / or provide a relaxing action.

The massage member may comprise a hub made of a material different from that of the lips. Such a hub can facilitate the rotation of the massage member, if necessary.

The massage device may optionally comprise elements projecting between the lips, for example a succession of pins, which may be made in one piece with the flexible lips, if appropriate. These protruding elements can generate vibrations during their displacement in contact with the skin.

The flexible lips may deviate from each other when moving away from the axis of rotation, which may for example facilitate their flexion in spacing when the massage member is applied and pressed on the skin.

The flexible lips may have a circular edge or not, for example polygonal, and have an annular shape.

The flexible lips may have openings, which can increase their flexibility.

The flexible lips may have cutouts or teeth on their edge.

The lips may define between them a groove widening in the radial direction.

The flexible lips of the aforementioned flexible pair of lips may be substantially symmetrical to one another with respect to a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation.

The free edge of each flexible lip may or may not have axial symmetry with respect to the axis of rotation.

At least one flexible lip may be eccentric.

The spacing, measured along the axis of rotation, between the free edges of the two flexible lips of the pair of flexible lips can range, for example, from 1 to 15, ranging for example from 2 to 10 mm.

This roller may comprise reliefs for creating a complementary massage action, for example pins or ribs angularly offset from one end to the other of the roller.

The support may comprise a flattened handle.

The device may comprise at least one split axis on which is snapped a rotating ring carrying a massage member. The axis can be attached to the support.

The invention further relates to a method of massaging the skin by means of a device as defined above. Flexible lips can be applied on the skin, in particular on both sides of a wrinkle, and the massage member or bodies can be rotated while rolling on the skin.

Tension can be exerted through the massage device on both sides of at least one wrinkle.

The massage device can be moved along the ride.

The massage device 1 shown in FIG. 1 comprises a massage member 2 rotatable about an axis of rotation R relative to a support 90 which, in the example in question, is elongate along a longitudinal axis X.

The X and R axes are for example substantially orthogonal.

The massage member 2, shown in isolation in FIG. 2, comprises a pair of flexible lips 3 and 4 intended to come into contact with the skin during the use of the device 1.

The lips 3 and 4 are connected to a central portion 5 which, in this example, is traversed by an opening 6 for the passage of a shaft 7 whose ends are held by two branches 8 and 9 of the support 3.

The lips 3 and 4 deviate at rest from one another in the radial direction in the example considered, so that when the massage member 2 is applied against the skin and pressure is exerted by it on the skin in a direction generally perpendicular to the axis of rotation R, the lips 3 and 4 tend to exert a spreading action of the epidermis, as shown in Figure 3. This spreading action is for example exerted on both sides of a wrinkle F, and allows to stretch the skin to its level.

The device 1 can in particular be moved along the wrinkle F, the lips 3 and 4 applying to the skin respectively on either side of the wrinkle.

In the example illustrated in Figure 2, the flexible lips 3 and 4 are formed integrally with the central portion 5 by molding plastic material, for example an elastomeric material.

The flexible lips 3 and 4 can also be made, as illustrated in FIG. 4, in a material different from the central portion 5, for example being overmolded in an elastomeric material on the central portion 5, the latter being molded in a plastics material more rigid than the lips 3 and 4. This can facilitate the rotation of the massage member 2.

The central portion 5 can optionally be made, as illustrated in FIG. 4, with shaft portions 12, of axis R, which can avoid the use of the shaft 7. These shaft portions 12 can be directly received in dwellings of branches 8 and 9, if any.

In the example of Figure 5, the massage member 2 comprises a hub 13 which is in a different material from that in which are formed the flexible lips 3 and 4, including a more rigid plastic material.

The hub 13 is for example reported in the opening 6 of the central portion 5, being for example latched thereon.

The hub 13 can be overmoulded on the central portion 5.

Where appropriate, the hub 13 may comprise two parts 14 and 15 which are assembled one on the other, as shown in Figure 6. This may allow for example to achieve these parts 14 and 15 with flanges 16 for For example, to stiffen the central portion 5. The parts 14 and 15 are for example assembled by snapping, but they could be fixed otherwise, for example be glued or welded, among others.

The flexible lips 3 and 4 are made together in one piece by plastic molding in the examples illustrated in FIGS. 2 to 6, but it is not beyond the scope of the present invention when the flexible lips 3 and 4 are two pieces. independent, as shown in Figure 7.

The lips 3 and 4 belong for example to respective massage members 17 and 18 which have a generally concave shape towards the outside, being traversed at their center by an opening 20 for the passage of a shaft.

The concavities of the massage members 17 and 18 are opposite in the example in question, but they could be opposite each other in a non-illustrated variant.

The massage member 2 may comprise, as illustrated in FIG. 8, projecting elements 22 between the flexible lips 3 and 4.

These protruding elements 22 are for example arranged spaced apart on the circumference of the central portion 5, between the flexible lips 3 and 4, as can be seen in FIG. 9.

The height of the projecting elements 22, which are for example in the form of pins, is in the example considered lower than that of the flexible lips 3 and 4, so that the projecting elements 22 contact the skin only after separation of the flexible lips 3 and 4, as shown in Figure 10.

The lips 3 and 4 may, in axial section, be substantially rectilinear over at least a portion of their length, in particular a portion of their length from their free edge 30 or 31. The lips 3 and 4 may still be in section axial, curvilinear.

In the example of Figure 8, the projecting elements 22 are made in a monolithic manner by molding material with the flexible lips 3 and 4.

Alternatively, as shown in Figure 11, the projecting elements 22 may be carried by a rotatable member 28 interposed between the massage members 17 and 18 described above.

The flexible lips 3 and 4 may be symmetrical to one another with respect to a median plane perpendicular to the axis R, as is the case for example for the massage member shown in FIG. 2.

It may be otherwise and one can for example have flexible lips 3 and 4 which are not symmetrical to each other with respect to a median plane perpendicular to the axis R, as illustrated in FIG. 13 .

The flexible lip 4 may for example extend substantially in a plane, which is for example oriented substantially perpendicular to the axis R, while the flexible lip 3 is for example inclined relative to the axis R and deviates for example lip 4 in the radial direction.

When the flexible lips 3 and 4 are defined by different massage members 17 and 18, they may also have different shapes, as illustrated in FIG.

The flexible lips 3 and 4 can be made differently, so as to have different flexibilities.

The flexible lip 3 may for example be made with a greater material thickness than the flexible lip 4, so as to deform less easily, as illustrated in FIG. 15.

The respective free edges 30 and 31 of the flexible lips 3 and 4 are for example each circular. The edges 30 and 31 may for example have the same radius or different radii. The maximum radius y, that is to say the distance to the axis R of the edge 30 or 31, is for example less than or equal to 20 mm.

Each edge 30 or 31 may be contained in the same plane, but it may be different. The edge 30 or 31 may, for example, extend in a wavy manner on either side of a median plane perpendicular to the axis R, as illustrated in FIG. 17A.

The flexible lips 3 and 4 have a length l, measured between the corresponding free edge 30 or 31 and the central portion 5 which may be greater for at least a portion of the circumference of the lip, for example for its entire circumference, to the radius r of the central portion 5, as shown in Figure 2.

The lengths l may be identical for each of the flexible lips 3 and 4 or be different.

The length l may vary in the circumferential direction, as illustrated in FIG. 16, so as to vary for example the distance d between the free edges 30 or 31 in the circumferential direction and / or to vary the flexibility of the lips 3 and 4 in the circumferential direction.

The length l is for example between 3 and 15 mm, or even 3 and 10 mm.

The distance d is for example between 1 and 15 mm, or even 1 and 6 mm.

The thickness of a lip 3 or 4 is for example less than or equal to 1.5 mm, for example over at least half of its length.

The free edge 30 or 31 may also have a non-circular shape, for example undulating, as shown in FIG. 17. The amplitude of the corrugations in the measured radial direction is, for example, less than or equal to 5.

The opening 6 may be eccentric, as illustrated in FIG. 18.

The lips 3 and 4 may be interconnected by at least one material bridge 40, limited angular extent, as shown in Figure 19. This may allow to secure and / or stiffen locally.

Several identical or different massage members 3 may be rotatably mounted on the same support 90 as illustrated in FIG. 20, rotating for example around the same axis of rotation R.

As a variant, at least two massage members 2 may be rotatably mounted around respective axes of rotation R 'and R "forming an angle α between them, which is, for example, less than 180 °, as illustrated in FIG. 21, or greater than 180 °, as illustrated in Figure 22. The fixation of a massage member in the examples of FIGS. 21 and 23 can for example be carried out as illustrated in FIG. 22 by means of a shaft 7 whose one end is riveted in a housing 50 of a branch and the the other end comprises an enlarged split head 51 for locking on the shaft 7 a retaining sleeve 53. The massage device illustrated in Figures 21 and 23 advantageously comprises branches 8 and 9 flexible enough to be deformed during use. The branches 201 and 202 have extensions 204 and 205 which form with the arcuate portion 203 of the yokes in which are arranged two rotary massage members 2.

The latter each comprise a pair of lips made in one piece by molding elastomeric material. The lips are carried by a hub 210 which has ends engaged in corresponding holes of the arcuate portion 203 and extensions 204 and 205, as can be seen in FIG.

In the example in question, the massage members 2 rotate around respective axes of rotation R 'and R "which form between them an obtuse angle.

The extensions 204 and 205 converge in a direction opposite to the handle 91.

The branches 201 and 202 define between them a space 218 which accommodates a roller 211 rotatably mounted relative to the support 90. This roller 211 comprises a plurality of ribs 214 spaced along the axis of rotation Z of the roller and defining between them grooves 220. Each rib 214 has, observed along the Z axis, a generally square shape. The vertices of two adjacent ribs are shifted by 45 ° for example.

In the example illustrated, the support 90 is made of a relatively rigid plastic material, but it is not beyond the scope of the present invention when this material is flexible.
