This invention relates to a cooling device (1) which comprises a bottle opener (6) on its door (2).

Description

Description A COOLING DEVICE
[001] This invention relates to a cooling device which has a bottle opener affixed on its door. [002] In order to drink beverages kept in the cooling device, one has to take them out and open their caps. In general , bottle openers, preferably made of metal, are manually used to remove the cap by placing the cap into the opener and applying pressure onto the cap. Since the bottle openers are kept in different places, their utilization is not practical for the user. [003] In the United States of America Patent no. US 1880985 a cooling device provided with a bottle opener is described wherein a part of the bottle opener is affixed at an angle to remove bottle caps. [004] In the International Patent Application no. WO02072465 a bottle cap opener for a cabinet is described which is affixed to cooling device like appliances for opening bottle caps by means of its projections. [005] The object of this invention is to achieve a cooling device which incorporates a bottle-cap opener that can be hidden when necessary.
[006] The cooling device designed to fulfill the object of the present invention is il¬ lustrated in the attached figures where:

[012] The cooling device (1) comprising at least one door (2), wherein food and beverages to be cooled or their containers like jars, bottles etc. can be stored by opening and closing, at least one or more door handles (3) positioned on the door (2) which enables the user to grasp for opening or closing the door (2), a bottle opener (6) affixed on the door handle (3) for opening bottle caps, a bottle opener cover (4) which may be opened when necessary to enable the use of the bottle opener (6) or be closed when not used to hide the bottle opener (6) complementing the easthetic appearance of the door handle (3), a hinge (8) that fixes the bottle opener cover (4) and the door handle (3) to each other and enables the opening closing movement of bottle opener cover (4), and a locking mechanism (10) that provides fastening and unfastening of the door handle (3) and the bottle opener cover (4) .
[013] The door (2) comprises one or more door handle housings (7) on which the handle
(3) is fixed.
[014] The door handle(3) comprises a bottle opener housing (5) and a hinge (8) where the bottle opener (6) is placed and a fixer (9) which affixes the door handle (3) and the bottle opener (6) to the door (2).
[015] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the locking mechanism (10) comprises one or more than one latch and latch housing of matching form and build. Bottle opener cover (4) is affixed to the door handle (3) by means of laches and latch housings, preferably in the form of snap-fit joints.
[016] In the preferred embodiment of present invention a curved metal plate is used as hinge (8).
[017] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, a "U" shaped bottle opener
(6) is used. The bottle cap, placed at an angle in the bottle opener (6) is squeezed into projections of the "U" shaped form, opening when bottle is pulled.
[018] In yet another embodiment of the present invention, door handle (3) is assembled in the door handle housing (7), a hinge (8) preferably riveted to the bottle opener cover (4), and the bottle opener (6) are placed in this order on the bottle opener housing (5) after which it is assembled on the door (2) by a fastener (9), preferably a screw.
[019] When it is attempted to open a bottle with the help of the present embodiment which is the object of this invention, the user first pulls up the bottle opener cover (4) towards himself/herself to expose the bottle opener (6), and removes the bottle cap by means of affixing the bottle cap to bottle opener (6). After opening the bottle cap, the user closes the bottle opener cover (4) by pushing it back to its place.
[020] In another embodiment of the present invention, the bottle opener cover (4) is made of a transparent material which enables the bottle opener (4) to be seen from the outside.
[021] With the embodiment of the present invention, the caps of bottles in the cooling device (1) or in the environments, where the cooling device is placed can be opened without the need for any additional bottle opener and keeping a bottle opener as a separate tool is not needed .

Claims
[001] A cooling device (1) comprising at least one door (2) where food and beverages or their containers like bottles and jars are placed by opening and closing for cooling, one or more than one door handles (3) on the door (2) to enable the user to grasp and to open and close the door (2), and characterized by a bottle opener (6) on the door handle (3) to enable the opening of bottle caps.
[002] A cooling device as in Claim 1, characterized by a bottle opener cover (4) that may be opened to use the bottle opener (6) or closed to hide the bottle opener (6) when not used.
[003] A cooling device as in Claim 1 and Claim 2, characterized by a hinge (8) that attaches the door handle (3) and bottle opener cover (4) to each other and enables the bottle opener cover (4) to open and to close, and a locking mechanism (10) that fastens and unfastens the door handle (3) and the bottle opener cover (4) .
[004] A cooling device as in Claims 1 to 3, characterized by a door handle (3) comprising a hinge (8) and a bottle opener housing (5) where the bottle opener (6) is placed, a fixer (9), which enables the fixing of bottle opener (6) and door handle (3) assembled into the bottle opener housing (5) to be attached to the door (2).
