Description
Die Erfindung betrifft einen Krümmer für einen Mehrzylinder-Verbrennungsmotor, der aus mehreren Schalen zusammengesetzt ist. Einen derartigen Abgaskrümmer zeigt beispielweise die
Insbesondere betrifft die Erfindung einen sogenannten drei-schaligen Krümmer, bei dem eine untere, eine obere und eine mittlere Schale miteinander randseitig verbunden sind, so daß mehrere Einlaßkanäle und mehrere zugeordnete Auslaßräume geschaffen werden. Jeder motorblockseitige Auslaß mündet dabei in einen zugeordneten, eigenen Einlaßkanal des Krümmers, der wiederum in einen Auslaßraum übergeht. Üblicherweise gehen mehrere Einlaßkanäle in einen gemeinsamen Auslaßraum über, in dem die heißen Abgase sich verteilen, expandieren und etwas abgekühlt werden. Die Krümmer sind extremen thermischen Belastungen ausgesetzt. Diese Belastungen sind insbesondere im Bereich der Verbindungsschweißnähte zwischen den Schalen und der Wandabschnitte, auf die der Abgasstrom unmittelbar aus dem Motor trifft, extrem. Gerade beim Kaltstart dehnen sich auch unterschiedliche Abschnitte des Krümmers unterschiedlich schnell und stark aus, so daß es hier zu hohen Spannungen im Bereich der Schweißnähte kommt.In particular, the invention relates to a so-called three-shell manifold in which a lower, an upper and a middle shell are connected to each other at the edge, so that a plurality of inlet channels and a plurality of associated outlet spaces are created.
