- Electric fires are known in the art. Initially introduced to replace the traditional fireplace, they were dimensioned so as to fit into the hearth of the fireplace. They are advantageous over the traditional fire based on combustible fuels in that the heat is immediate on turning on the fire and there is no cleaning required. Some of the earlier models included two or more elements that could be selectively activated to determine the amount of heat output. These were often situated in the bottom portion of the fire, and had a coal effect plastic moulding provided thereabove, which could be backlit so as to provide the coal effect.

- the fan was configured to blow the heated air out from the housing so as to provide for heating over an extended area within the room.

Differently to the mechanism of GB2386680 , there is therefore no need for a protective frame in front of the housing obscuring the grill from view.
- the provision of the rebate 155 in the upper portion 145 of the housing 105 enables a mounting of the frame 110 within an interior portion 175 of the housing 105 and therefore integrates some of the frame 110 within the housing 105, reducing the overall depth of the fire 100. There is no distinct area or gap where the housing 105 does not overlap with some portion of the frame.
- the air blower 140 In order to mount the air blower 140 within the housing 105 it is desirable to first mount the air blower 140 to a mounting frame 180. The combined mounting frame 180 and air blower 140 are then provided as a single unit which may be attached with the housing 105. This mounting arrangement of the air blower 140 provides an exit channel such that the air flow is channelled through a hood 195. By mounting the blower 140 to such a hood, separate baffles are not required to redirect the flow of the air and it is therefore easier to manufacture and assemble such fires.

Claims (6)
- Elektrischer Kamin (100) mit einem Gehäuse (105) und einem Rahmen (110), wobei der Rahmen (110) an einem vorderen Abschnitt des Gehäuses (105) angebaut werden kann und einen Träger für ein erstes Glasteil (120) bereitstellt, das in senkrechter Ausrichtung gehaltert ist,
das Gehäuse (105) einen Träger für ein zweites Glasteil (125) bereitstellt, das ebenfalls in senkrechter Ausrichtung parallel zum ersten Glasteil eingebaut ist, das Gehäuse ferner eine Plattform (130) enthält, die sich vor dem zweiten Glasteil und im Wesentlichen senkrecht zu diesem in einem Bereich desselben befindet, wobei die Plattform eine Auflage zum Anordnen einer Brennstoffschicht in der Weise bereitstellt, dass dann, wenn der Rahmen am Gehäuse angebaut ist, sich die Plattform zwischen dem ersten und dem zweiten Glasteil befindet, und bei dem
das Gehäuse (105) ferner so konfiguriert ist, dass es ein Heizelement (134) und ein Luftgebläse (140) abstützt, wobei sich das Luftgebläse (140) in einem oberen Abschnitt (145) des Gehäuses befindet und sein Auslass (151) neben dem Heizelement (134) so angeordnet ist, dass die erwärmte Luft vom Heizelement (134) vom Luftgebläse (140) aus dem Gehäuse (105) geblasen werden kann, wobei der obere Abschnitt (145) einen Falz (155) definiert, der so konfiguriert ist, dass er einen Abschnitt (160) des das erste Glasteil (120) tragenden Rahmens (110) aufnimmt, so dass beim Anbau des Rahmens (110) am Gehäuse (105) sich das erste Glasteil in einem vom Gehäuse definierten Bereich befindet, und bei dem ferner der Auslass des Luftgebläses (140) so konfiguriert ist, dass er die erwärmte Luft vor dem ersten Glasteil (120) nach unten bläst, wo sie aus dem elektrischen Kamin (100) entlüftet werden kann. - Elektrischer Kamin (100) nach Anspruch 1, bei dem die Bereitstellung des Falzes (155) im oberen Abschnitt (145) des Gehäuses (105) den Anbau des Rahmens (110) in einem inneren Abschnitt des Gehäuses ermöglicht und deshalb ein Teil des Rahmens (110) im Gehäuse (105) integriert wird, wodurch die Gesamttiefe des elektrischen Kamins (100) verringert wird.
- Elektrischer Kamin (100) nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, bei dem das Luftgebläse (140) zunächst an einem Anbaurahmen (180) angebaut wird, wobei die Kombination aus dem Luftgebläse (140) und dem Anbaurahmen (180) einen Austrittskanal von einer Austrittsöffnung des Luftgebläses (140) auf eine solche Weise bereitstellt, dass die Luftströmung durch eine Haube (195) geführt wird.
- Elektrischer Kamin (100) nach jedem der vorigen Ansprüche, bei dem der Rahmen (110) abnehmbar am Gehäuse (105) angebaut werden kann, so dass dann, wenn der Zugang zu einem inneren Abschnitt des Gehäuses (105) erforderlich ist, der Rahmen (110) aus seiner normalen Position bewegt werden kann, um den erforderlichen Zugang bereitzustellen.
- Elektrischer Kamin (100) nach Anspruch 4, bei dem der Rahmen (110) an einer Tür angebracht ist, die am Gehäuse (105) angelenkt ist.
- Elektrischer Kamin (100) nach jedem der vorigen Ansprüche, der ferner verstellbare Aufstellfüße (215) enthält, so dass bei der Installation einer oder mehrere der Füße (215) verstellt werden können, um die korrekte Ausrichtung des elektrischen Kamins (100) zu erzielen.
