In this case, the press no longer has two trays (a) (b) facing each other but only one plate (a) on which is positioned the support (d) on which the boards (c) must be fixed by example by gluing. This press is provided with a device for maintaining or constraining the boards to the desired position or curvature for the time necessary for their fixing on the support (d). The guiding of the boards (c) parallel to the support (d) on which the boards (c) must be fixed, during the bending phase and the pressing of the boards (c) on the support (d) for fixing after the bending phase is made by rails arranged opposite the plate (a). They act independently or are interconnected and are actuated by one or more devices for varying the distance between the rails and the plate (a) to adjust this distance and ensure the pressing. The devices for actuating the rails may be for example cylinders, cams or also a device for evacuation of air from the area between the plate (a) and the rails. These rails are in sufficient number to allow a uniform pressure on the boards (c) to allow proper fixing on the support. These rails will generally be arranged in a transverse or radial axis relative to the longitudinal axis of the boards (c) but may if necessary be arranged in any axis parallel to the plate (a). The rails (k) may or may not carry carriages (h) (i) as previously described to ensure the spacing of the boards. If the rails do not carry carriages provided with spacing studs, the constant spacing during the entire bending phase can be obtained by arranging wedges calibrated between the boards. These spacer blocks can then be removed once the fixing of the boards on the support made. The bending can be achieved by any means for generating a force in the bending plane for example one or pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic or screw. The cylinders can be carried by the pressing rails.

Claims (7)

  1. Press for making jointed flooring in straight or curved boards by fixing plates (c) on a support(d); this press consists of the two plates (a)(b) face-to-face; one of the plates (a) carries the support (d) on which the boards (c) must be glued, the other plate (b) supports the boards (c) and is furnished with a device to maintain them or constrain them to the position and the desired curvature for the time necessary to affix the boards (c) on the support (d); this tool is characterised in such a way that the plate (b) which supports the boards (c) allows positioning of the boards (c) on the plate (b) through the action of a conical or truncated or pyramid shape (f); the number and the positioning of these pads allows on the one hand to maintain the boards (c) in the desired position during pressing, and easy disengagement, considering that the variations of straightness and the side of the boards (c) are easily taken up between the fronts of the pads (f) during the pressing, and that the action of pressing between the surfaces of the press tend to optimise the position of the boards (c); on the other part of these pads (f) one can avoid, due to their number, their height and their position, significant deformation to the press plate (a).
  2. Press according to claim 1, characterised by a device allowing the extraction of the boards (c), once attached to their support (d); this extraction can be accomplished by a pressure system in the area(s) located at the thick part of the plates (b) supporting the boards (c) in such a way that the pads (f), affixed to the lower part of the plate (b) remain in place while the upper part of the plate (b) lifts, disengaging the boards (c) from the positioning pads (f).
  3. Press for the making of jointed flooring in straight or curved boards with the use of fixation boards (c) on a support (d); this press is constituted of two plates (a)(b) face-to-face, one of the plates (a) carries the support (d) on which the boards (c) must be glued, the other plate (b) supports the boards (c) and is provided with a device to maintain them or 5 constrain them to the position and the desired curvature during the time necessary for fixation of the boards (c) on the support (d), characterised in this case in that the plate (b) supporting the boards (c) includes carts (h,i) which move within guides (ki);p carts are sufficiently numerous on each rail (k) that there are boards (c) to be bent; these carts (h)(i) are of two types: one (h) carries parts to maintain and position (I), having a contact surface which is as large as possible with the boards (c), in such a way that when the carts (h) are moved, the boards (c) are held by these carts (h) longitudinally; one over the other; the other (i) carries the cylindrical or conical parts to maintain and position them (m) in such a way that, that with the bending, the spacing between the boards (c) remains constant due to the constancy of the diameter of these parts for maintenance and positioning (m); these carts (i) are pushed to one side by a controlling device (g), for example a cylinder, and limited in their movement by a stop (p) provided, so that when the whole system is in motion, it and is stopped by the stop, the desired shape is obtained. The press is then actuated, for example, by setting the glued boards (c) and forming them on the support (d).
  4. Press for the production of flooring with straight or curved boards by affixing plates (c) and support(s) according to claim 3, wherein the removable spacer(s) are made for example by means of metal strips laid out between the carrier(s) and plates (c), these spacers (e) permit bending the plates (c) face-to-face with the holder(s) without the support(s) being damaged by friction; these spacers (e) are removed, e.g. by winding up, with a bending phase before and after the pressing stage, allowing fixation by bonding, for example, through full surface contact between the plates (c) and support (d).
  5. Press for the production of flooring with straight or curved boards with fixing plates (c), and support(s) as per claims number 3 or 4 in which, in order to facilitate the bending of sliding boards (c) on the strip (e), the plate (a) bringing the carrier(s) on which the plates (c) must be bonded can receive cavities (q) below the surface of the pressing, arranged in such a way that the variation of pressure in these areas is permitted in order to identify the carrier board(s) (c) or plate holder(s) on the stage (c) in areas over which the strip (e) does not reach while relieving pressure in areas along the strip (e) in order to facilitate appropriate extraction of the strip (e) in the pressing area.
  6. Press for the production of flooring with straight or curved boards using fixation plates (a), support(s) as per claims number 3, 4 and 5 characterised by the diameter of the cylindrical tubes (n) defined in such a way that when the pressure is achieved between the plates of the press (a)(b), tubes (n) support plate of the press (a) bringing the carrier(s) into the same plane as the upper surface boards (c) in a way that would avoid excessive deformation of the plates (a)(b) of the press, and achieve better flatness of the support(s) over the boards (c) during the pressing phase.
  7. Press for the production of flooring with straight or curved boards by fixation plates (c) support(s) as per claim number 3 wherein the plates (a) (b) are maintained during plate (c) bending by a depression in one zone (r) or periphery) of the plates, either perpendicularly along the displacement axis of the plates; so that the trays can be maintained with a depression in the pressing area which is small enough that the bending of the plates (c) is facilitated; during bending of the plates (c), constraints involved with the bending of the plates (c) may cause deformation of the plates (a)(b), therefore sensors are placed on the system to control the placement of pressure or depressurisation of the area between the pressing plates (a)(b) just enough to restore the shape of the plates (a)(b) of the press without generating a pressing force which interferes with smooth bending.
