Abstract
Description
- The invention relates to a post with fixing bracket for securing at least one welded mesh panel to the post.
- Such a post with fixing bracket for securing mesh fencing panels is known from the
British Patent application no. 2.250.757 A - A first object of the invention is to obtain a very strong fixation of the welded mesh panel to the post by using a special fixing bracket.
- To this end, the fixing bracket according to the invention is characterised in that it consists of a U-shaped fixing plate, of which at least one leg is provided with a number of recesses for taking up the welded mesh panel.
- Preferably, the fixing bracket is characterised in that both legs of the U-shaped fixing plate are provided with a number of recesses for taking up two adjacent welded mesh panels.
- A preferred embodiment of the invention is characterised in that the recesses are equidistant recesses and that each welded mesh panel consists of horizontal and vertical wires, whereby the center-to-center distance of the horizontal wires is equal to or a multiple of the center-to-center distance between the recesses of the fixing bracket.
- Preferably, the fixing bracket is provided with a longitudinal aperture and with two supports at two opposite sides thereof.
- Thanks to all the above-mentioned characteristics, a fixing bracket is obtained, which results in a very strong fixation of a welded mesh panel to a post. This is in particular the case, when the welded mesh panel consists of horizontal and vertical wires, whereby the distance between each set of two adjacent horizontal wires is very small.
- Another advantage of the invention is that this strong fixation of the welded mesh panel can be obtained in different positions of the panel with respect to the post, whereby the fixing bracket permits a vertical and horizontal adjustment of the position of the panel with respect to the post.
- The invention will now be described in greater detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which :
- Figure 1
- shows a perspective view of a post with four welded mesh panels and three fixing brackets,
- Figure 2
- shows another perspective view of a post with four welded mesh panels and five fixing brackets,
- Figure 3
- shows a plan view of the assembled post and welded mesh panels of figure 1,
- Figure 4
- shows a plan view similar to figure 3, but fro a 90° corner post of the fencing,
- Figure 5
- shows another plan view similar to figure 3, but now for an obtuse angle of the fencing,
- Figure 6
- shows first side view of the fixing bracket according to the invention,
- Figure 7
- shows a first side view of the fixing bracket of figure 6, and
- Figure 8
- shows a second side view of this fixing bracket.
- Figure 1 shows a post, four
welded mesh panels 2 and threefixing brackets 3. Eachfixing bracket 3 consists of a U-shaped fixing plate, whereby thelegs 4 of the U-shaped plate orbracket 3 are provided with four recesses or spaces for taking up the correspondingwelded mesh panels 2. Thefixing bracket 3 is e.g. manufactured from 3 mm. thick mild steel plate and has the following sizes : 58 x 55,8 x 15 mm. Thebracket 3 is coated with adapted coatings for avoiding corrosion. - Each
welded mesh panel 2 consists ofhorizontal wires 5 andvertical wires 6. Thesteel wires welded mesh panels 2 is that the center-to-center distance between thehorizontal wires 5 can be very small, e.g. ½ inch or 12,7 mm. The dimensions of the meshes of the panels are e.g. ½ inch x 3 inches or 12,7 x 76,2 mm. - An important characteristic of the
fixing bracket 3 according to the invention is that the recesses or spaces for taking up thewelded mesh panels 2 are equidistant recesses. The distance between each set of two adjacent recesses is e.g. also 12, 7 mm or equal to the distance between each set of two adjacenthorizontal wires 5 of the usedwelded mesh panels 2. - As can be seen from figure 1, it is now easy to fix a welded mesh panel to a
post 1 by means of abracket 3. By guiding the recesses of thebracket 3 above thehorizontal wires 5 of thepanel 2, the bordervertical wire 6 of thepanel 2 is hooked into thebracket 3. As already said, it is necessary that the center-to-center distance between thehorizontal wires 5 must be equidistant and must be equal to or a multiple of the center-to-center distance between the recesses of thebracket 3. - The
bracket 3 is further provided with alongitudinal aperture 7 for taking up abolt 8 withwasher 9 to be fixed in a threadedinsert 10 of thepost 1. Thebracket 3 is at the two opposite sides of thelongitudinal aperture 7 also provided with two supports orshoulders 11 for taking up the clamping forces of the bracket against thepost 1 when fixing thebolt 9 into theinsert 10. - Thanks to the
longitudinal aperture 7 and the equidistant recesses in thelegs 4 of thebracket 3; it is now possible to allow some adjustment of the positioning of thewelded mesh panels 1 in vertical and horizontal directions. - Figure 2 shows a similar perspective view, as shown in figure 1. The same reference numbers are used for indicating the same parts of the fencing to be erected. The four
welded mesh panels 2 are now staggered with respect to each other because the fencing is to be erected on a sloping ground. - Figure 3 shows a plan view of a part of an assembled fencing, whereby two
adjacent panels 2 are fixed to apost 1. - Figures 4 and 5 show plan views similar to figure 3, whereby figure 4 show a 90° corner post of a fencing, whereas figure 5 shows two
adjacent posts 1 and twoadjacent panels 2 for forming an obtuse angle of a fencing. - Figure 6, 7 and 8 show some detailed views of the
fixing bracket 3 according to the invention. Figure 6 shows an upper view of thebracket 3 showing clearly thelongitudinal aperture 7, as well as thelegs 4 with the equidistant recesses and the twoshoulders 11. Figure 7 shows a first side view of thebracket 3 showing particularly the equidistant recesses of oneleg 4, whereas figure 8 shows a second side view showing theshoulder 11 at this side.
