Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Vorschaltgerät mit Dimmvorrichtung für eine Niederdruckentladungslampe. Sie weist zwei technisch unterschiedliche Möglichkeiten zur Steuerung der Lampenhelligkeit auf. Die erste Möglichkeit zur Helligkeitssteuerung, die jede Ausführungsform der Erfindung aufweist, ist die Steuerung der Lampenhelligkeit mittels Einstellung der Amplitude des Lampenstromes. Die zweite Möglichkeit der Helligkeitssteuerung basiert erfindungsgemäß darauf, dass jede Ausführungsform der Erfindung die Niederdruckentladungslampe mit gepulstem Lampenstrom betreiben kann. Insbesondere werden beide Betriebsmodi in bestimmten Helligkeitsbereichen kombiniert eingesetzt.
