Abstract

A self-closing door is operated by a return spring unit located within a two-part housing. The housing is embedded on one side to the door outer frame threshold, and a central rotating core links a spindle via the spring to the housing. The two-part housing has apertures top and bottom.

Description

The invention relates to return spring units for door fittings, in particular for those with angled handles, according to the preamble of claim 1.

Usually, locks have a spring-loaded latch, which is actuated by a square pin, which passes through a lock nut and the door handles together. Is at least one of the handles of button shape, the force of the lock spring usually sufficient to cause the return to the starting position. Angled handles or levers, which are often made of specific heavy material such as brass or steel, however, are often not raised to the rest position and held so.

It has therefore equipped door fittings with additional springs. An example describes DE 87 02 724 U1 in which pressure elements loaded by compression springs are displaceably arranged in a stop body which supports a door handle which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to an angular flanging ring. If the handle is rotated, the crimping ring spreads the pressure pieces apart, causing the springs are tensioned. When you release the Grip the pressure pieces press on the surfaces of the crimp ring, so that the handle is swung back. However, the power transmission is unfavorable, which is why strong and therefore relatively bulky springs are needed.

Loud GB 1 428 042 A For the door handle holder, a wide plate is provided in which a guide ring is mounted, which supports a rotatably connected to the handle, offset radial projections record plate and having fixed stops. This is a curved coil spring supports the plate in the direction of rotation, so that the spring is compressed when pivoting the handle and moves it back after releasing. Again, the considerable space requirement is disadvantageous.

Also known is a not so large return spring unit which contains a disc between two housing plates with opposite tabs, which are loaded by two curved coil springs against inner projections. As a result, the disc, the axially projecting collar sleeves and a square hole for driving through a square pin, loaded in the direction of rest position. In use, the high friction of the springs resulting hysteresis of the restoring force and unwanted noise disturbing.

An important object of the invention is the further reduction of the dimensions of such return spring units while maintaining or improving their mechanical properties. The aim is above all a simple, cost-effective construction, which can be installed quickly and conveniently and has high usability. Furthermore, the adaptation of the units to various carriers such as e.g. Signs and rosettes of different dimensions may be possible.

Hauptmerkmale der Erfindung sind im Anspruch 1 angegeben. Ausgestaltungen sind Gegenstand der Ansprüche 2 bis 15.Main features of the invention are specified in claim 1. Embodiments are the subject of claims 2 to 15.

In a return spring unit for door fittings, in particular for those with an angled handle, the neck is rotatably connected to a seated therein square spindle, with a fixable to a door leaf clamshell housing in which a provided with two radially protruding tabs is slidingly mounted, which has a central square hole for receiving the square pin and whose rotation about its axis under spring tension mitnehmbar is entrainable, each shell of the housing is penetrated by a central opening, wherein the nut is generally cylindrical formed and stored in the central openings between the shell inner sides, and wherein the nut is enclosed by a tensioned spiral spring with angled ends, of which an inner end in a recess on the circumference of the nut and an outer end in a peripheral recess at least one shell is maintained, the invention provides according to claim 1, that each central opening has a side segment recess, and that the upper flap can move in the segment recess of the upper cover shell between end stops, and the lower tab in the segment recess the bottom shell is movable between end stops.

Thanks to their low height, i. small extension in the direction of the axis of rotation, the unit designed in this way can easily be used in flat signs or rosettes. In addition, the length and width dimensions of the housing can be kept very small. Such units are therefore mounted in so-called narrow plates, which was not possible in the prior art. It is also favorable that one and the same return spring unit can be used both on the left and on the right door fitting; she just needs to be turned over.

Although you have previously used coil springs in door hardware to hold the handles until use in the starting position. For example, in the publications DE 24 18 674 and FR 2 255 453 discloses a rotary handle set, which has in each fitting plate inside curved ribs for receiving a coil spring and a stops having disc. The construction requires a lot of space, so the signs must be high and wide, which is generally undesirable. According to DE 197 53 934 A1 sits a coil spring in a hat-shaped box relatively large diameter, which must be installed in a recess on the door leaf, which also requires special installation preparation in addition to depth in the wood. All this avoids the invention with very simple means.

The document US 2004/0160068 A1 discloses a return spring unit according to the preamble of claim 1.

An inner end of the coil spring is suitably held in a recess on the Nußumfang and an outer end in a peripheral recess of a shell. This simple measure ensures tight fit of the spring, regardless of the number of load cycles in use.

The housing advantageously consists of a cover shell and a bottom shell, which are positively connected to one another, for example, vernietbar, the outer surfaces of the shells and the nut preferably complete flush with each other. So the unit is very flat; their total thickness is given by the height dimension of both shells, which is equal to the axial length of the exactly guided nut. It has at each end a shoulder whose diameter is adapted to that of the shell openings, which exceeds the nut within the shells, so that they safely in a very simple manner is stored. The axial depth or length of the shoulders is preferably equal to the wall thickness of the shells, so that the radial tabs disappear therein and in contrast to conventional constructions do not require additional height.

At least one shell of the housing, namely the bottom shell, has for receiving the coil spring on the outside diameter adapted to cavity. Structurally, it is advantageous if the bottom shell of the housing has an axially projecting, the cavity continuing collar, collar or the like. has, the spring height fully covers and with a peripheral recess radially continuing, axially parallel groove holds the outer coil spring end reliable. The waistband, collar or the like. can be trimmed on the long sides of the rectangular shaped housing chord, so that it is very narrow and requires minimal space. Furthermore, the shells of the collar, collar or the like. Having radially projecting arms that can be crossed in pairs of slightly different shape and are provided with opposing locking elements, which can be easily clipped together. This is very advantageous when used in rosettes of certain internal shape.

Suitably, the nut has as a circumferential recess for receiving the inner coil spring end an axially parallel groove and at their ends diametrically offset from one another each radially projecting tab which sits laterally in the associated segment recess with flush surface finish to the shell outer surface. If the tabs each face a groove of the square hole of the nut, the existing space is used optimally with full strength guaranteed.

By having the side segment recess of each shell for the associated tab stop ends in such an arrangement that a tab position of 45 ° to the long sides of the housing corresponds to a rest position of the nut, one achieves a further reduction of the width dimension, so that the housing extremely can be kept narrow.

The housing may have for locking with pin a collar disc holes and / or circumferential recesses, with particular security Verklipsung is ensured if the pins are formed transversely elastic, eg partially slit, and / or provided with lateral key surfaces, the form-slidable in the Circumference recesses fit.

It is very advantageous that the handle neck centered in a socket of a connectable to the housing collar disc and secures with its square pin the composite of the disc in the square housing hole, which achieves exact alignment and high strength at the same time.

One recognizes in Fig. 1 to Fig. 3c a first type of generally designated 10 return spring unit. Their housing 12 consists of a cover shell 14 and a bottom shell 16, between which a nut 15 is mounted. The cover shell 14 and the bottom shell 16 have inside a cavity 18 for receiving a coil spring 25. This surrounds the nut 15 and hooks with its inner end in an axially parallel groove or radial recess 34 of the nut 15, which has a central square hole 35. In addition, it has an upper flap 30 and a lower flap 31 diametrically opposed to each other. With an upper shoulder 32, the nut 15 is guided in a central opening 22 of the cover shell 14. A lower shoulder 36 of the nut 15 is centrally guided in a corresponding opening 26 of the bottom shell 16. The openings 22, 26 have a diameter D ( Fig. 1 and 2 ), which corresponds to that of paragraphs 32, 36 of the nut 15 and is smaller than the diameter of the nut body.

The upper lid shell 14 has at the opening 22 a segment recess 24 in which the upper flap 30 can move between end stops. Similarly, the bottom tray 16 has in its central opening 26 a segment recess 28 in which the bottom tab 31 of the nut 15 is movable between end stops. The hinged to the nut 15 with the elements 23/34 coil spring 25 has an outer end 27 which is latched in a notch or recess 21 of the bottom shell 16 and the cover shell 14. The coil spring 25 is received in the bottom shell 16 of the cavity 18, which continues axially in the axial direction with a collar or collar 20 which is receivable in a recess or step 40 of the cover shell 14 ( Fig. 2 ).

One recognizes best Fig. 3a and 3b in that the composite return spring unit 10 can be installed on both a "left" and a "right" door side. Hollow arrows illustrate which direction of rotation of the square and thus the nut 15 is the right one to counteract with the unit 10 of a weight or torque load (not shown) handle having an actuating square, which passes through the square hole 35. Such arrow marking (see also Fig. 4a, 4b ; 5a, 5b ; 5d, 5e ) ensures correct installation.

Fig. 4a to 4d show a modified design with a cover shell 14, which is not of rectangular shape, but then to an annular base body radially projecting, slightly different in shape pairs of arms 50, 51 has. These are provided with pins 44 and holes 48, which are positively connected with corresponding elements of a bottom shell 16. In between, there is also a nut 15 with an upper radial lance 30 and a lower radial lance 31, the are each movable between stop ends in a segment recess 24 and 28 respectively. The nut 15 having a square hole 35 can in turn be tensioned by a helical spring 25 in one direction, which is indicated on the respective shell 14 or 16 by its movement in the direction of the arrow ( Fig. 4a, 4b ). Three of these components are in Fig. 4c shown pulled apart. Merged (and offset by 90 °) gives the view of Fig. 4d ,

Such a return spring unit 10 is intended for use with a collar washer 54 ( Fig. 5a to 5c ). It can be seen that the interconnected shells 14, 16 form the housing 12, in which the nut 15 is held pivotally limited. The unit 10 is fitted with holes 48 on transversely elastic, namely partially slotted pin 58 of the collar disk 54, which has a 55 surrounded by an insert plate 56 bushing. Both components have mounting holes 57. An anti-rotation 59 ensures the correct position placing a (not shown) deck rosette.

The collar disk 54 can here be latched to the housing 12 on pins 58 which are provided with key surfaces 77 at least over part of their height, namely a lower shaft region. The latter slidably fit in peripheral recesses 78 of the arms 50. The in Fig. 5d units 12 and 54, which are still shown separately, are initially assembled off-axis (including the inserted nut 15) in such a way that the spanner-like recesses 78 grip the pins 58 at their flattenings 77 (FIG. Fig. 5e ). In the connecting line of the pin 58, the housing 12 is now moved on the collar disk 54 until the axes of square hole 35 and socket 55 are aligned ( Fig. 5f ), so that a solid, positive engagement ensures and a Nichtverrasten the Verklipsung 58/78 is excluded. In addition, the (not shown) Griffbund centered in the socket 55, and thus secures his (also not shown) square pin the composite body 12/54 in the square hole 35th

The invention is not limited to any of the above-described embodiments, but can be modified in many ways without departing from its scope, as it is set forth in the appended claims. It can be seen, however, that for door fittings with an angled handle, in the neck of a square pin rotatably seated, provided on the door leaf return spring unit 10 is provided with two-shell housing 12 in which a radial tongues 30, 31 provided, generally cylindrical nut 15 slidably is, which has a central square hole 35 for receiving the square pin and the angle of rotation is entrained by its rotation about its axis under spring tension. Both housing shells 14, 16 have a central opening 22, 26 with a lateral Segment recess 24, 28. The nut 15 is mounted between the shell inner sides and enclosed by a coil spring 25 with angled ends, which is stretched between a recess 34 on the Nußumfang and a peripheral recess 21, 41 of the shells 14, 16. The latter are positively connected so that their outer surfaces and the nut 15 are flush with each other. End-side shoulders of the nut 15 are adapted to the diameter of the shell openings 22, 26, which exceeds the nut 15 within the shells 14, 16. These have to accommodate the coil spring 25 has an outer diameter adapted cavity 18 with collar, collar 20 or the like. on. You can also from the collar, collar 20 or the like. radially projecting, crossed pairs of arms 50, 51 have, which are connectable to each other. The nut 15 has frontally diametrically offset radial tabs 30, 31, which sits with flush surface finish to the shell outer surface in the lateral segment recess 24, 28, preferably each opposite a groove of the square hole 35 of the nut 15. Spigot 58 of a collar disc 54 can with holes 48th or engage with circumferential recesses 78 of the housing 12.
