Abstract
A known method for producing pile carpet with tufted pile fibres consists in holding the back side of a support layer with a non-woven and in assembling said support layer with the dorsal fibres of the pile fibres by hydrodynamic needle-punching. Also a known method consisting in placing an intermediate layer between a support layer and the non-woven which consists at least partially of fusing fibres and in connecting said support layer and the non-woven to the back side of a carpet by hydrodynamic needle-punching. The inventive method consists in forming an intermediate layer from a fusing powder or from short cut fusing fibres and in incorporating the support layer in to the carpet back by hydrodynamic needle-punching prior to effectively fixing the pile fibres to the support layer by a fusion process.
Description
Verfahren zur Stabilisation einer Florware, wie Florteppich mit einem verfestigenden Rücken und Bahnware nach dem VerfahrenA method of stabilizing a pile fabric, such as a pile carpet having a consolidating backing and a sheet according to the method
B. getuftet wurden, jedenfalls zur Verankerung der in der Trägerschicht nur lose gehaltenen Florgarne in die Trägerschicht mittels einer hydrodynamischen Wasservernadel ung.EP-A-1 081 263 discloses a process for the continuous stabilization of a pile carpet, tufted carpet, plush fabric and the like, in any case a sheet-like product with a visible side, which must not be changed in its structure and quality, and a backing layer on the back, in which the florbildenden yarns are introduced and still need to be anchored there, since in the carrier layer of z. As a Spinnviies of polyester yarns, a woven or knitted fabric the pile yarns introduced only unstable such. B. tufted, at least for anchoring in the carrier layer only loosely held pile yarns in the carrier layer by means of a hydrodynamic water needle ung.
This process is of particular importance for the recyclability of a carpet. In the future, the hitherto usual foam backing made of latex is no longer necessary for the stabilization of the pile fibers.
Prior to this development, it was known to sprinkle the back of a carpet, the back of the backing layer with the attached pile fibers by means of a heat-meltable powder (EP-A-005 050). However, this method did not succeed because the mixing of the powder with the carrier layer could not be sufficiently produced. The same applies if, instead of a powder, a fusible fiber (DE-A-195 06 845) or a fusible film (DE-A-43 41 168) is abandoned. An intensive connection of the back fibers with the carrier layer could not be achieved by these measures. No pressing process helped, because it was not because the pile fibers were not allowed to be pressurized too much.
From DE-A-42 44 173 it has also been known to connect the textile secondary backing, that is to say the nonwoven fabric, to the backing layer via an intermediate nonwoven fabric. This Intermediate fleece should at least partially consist of thermoplastic fibers, which should then cause a better connection of the pile fibers in the carrier layer by melting. Again, the above-mentioned disadvantage applies accordingly. A further development is disclosed in DE-A-100 56 180, according to which the secondary backing is to be joined to the carrier layer together with the intermediate layer by means of hydrodynamic needling.
All these methods did not lead to the desired result, not only because there is no sufficient mixing of the constituents of the bonding layer such as intermediate layer with the z. B. tufted back components of the pile fibers and could be achieved with the fibers of the carrier layer.
Based on the method of EP-A-1 081 263, the invention has for its object to achieve by a complementary method, a further improvement of a binding of the pile fibers in the carrier layer. For this purpose, the invention initially provides on the back of the provided with the pile fibers carrier layer as an intermediate layer, a heat-meltable powder or a short staple fiber or foil and finally hang a nonwoven for producing a carpet backing and both by means of hydrodynamic water needling firmly to the back In any case, the carpet is subjected to a heat treatment to melt the powder, the melt fiber or the film.
It is particularly advantageous if the back of the carrier layer is subjected to water needling twice, once for intensive bonding and mixing of the intermediate layer with the back fibers of the pile and the carrier layer and secondly for bonding the nonwoven to the carrier layer to produce a backing. In this case, after the first needling, the carpet should be heat-treated to melt the interlayer mixed with the back fibers. Then the carpet is to undergo a hydrodynamic consolidation again after applying the Jockennonwovens.
