Abstract

A horizontal freezer comprises a food storage compartment, a cooling circuit provided with a compressor, a temperature sensor (16) positioned in said compartment and a control system capable of controlling the compressor in relation to a signal from said temperature sensor. On the basis of the temperature reported by the sensor (16), the control system defines the proportion of the connection time of the compressor in an ON-OFF cycle of said compressor, with the aim of optimising the performance of the freezer.
