Die Verlängerungsstifte 5 sind vorteilhaft sogenannte MQS-Stifte, die einen viereckigen Querschnitt haben.FIGS. 1 to 5 show, approximately on a scale of 1: 1, an incandescent lamp 1, which is accommodated in a bulb holder 2. The incandescent lamp 1 is advantageously a HiPer incandescent lamp (high-performance incandescent lamp), which is known and therefore also not described in detail and is characterized by a long service life. This bulb 1 has a base 3, with which the bulb 1 is inserted into the bulb holder 2 in a manner to be described. About the base 3 protrude two pins 4, via which the power is supplied. At these pins 4 extension pins 5 are attached, which are advantageously welded by laser welding to the contact pins 4. Advantageously, the contact pins 4 and the extension pins 5 have the same diameter (FIGS. 6 to 8). The extension pins 5 are advantageously so-called MQS pins, which have a quadrangular cross-section.

The base 3 is provided at about half the height on the outside with a circumferential annular projection 6 which is overlapped in the installed position of the bulb 1 by locking tongues 7 of the bulb holder 2 (FIGS. 7 and 8). The projection 6 is located at the level of a radial annular shoulder surface 8, with which the base 3 rests on a contact surface 9 of the bulb holder 2 (FIGS. 6 and 9). To the flat annular shoulder surface 8 includes a reduced diameter end portion 10, which has a flat end face 11. About them are the pins 4 over.

The incandescent lamp holder 2 has a housing 12 which has an oval outline in the exemplary embodiment. The housing 12 is open at its end remote from the incandescent lamp 1. With this open end, the housing 12 is placed on a conventional connector (not shown) via which the light unit is connected to a power source. This connector abuts against the inner wall of the housing 12 and receives the extension pins 5. Depending on the design of the connector, the housing 12 may also have a correspondingly different outline.

The housing 12 is closed at its end facing the incandescent lamp 1 by a bottom 13, which has two passage openings 14, 15 for the extension pins 5. The passage openings 14, 15 are of identical design and have a conical insertion section 16, 17, which merges into a cylindrical section 18, 19. The insertion portions 16, 17 taper in the direction of the cylindrical portions 18, 19. Due to the tapered insertion portions 16, 17, the extension pins 5 when inserting the light bulb 1 in the incandescent holder 2 safely pass into the passage openings 14, 15.

At the level of the bottom 13 of the bulb holder 2 is provided with a radially outwardly projecting circumferential flange 20, of which distributed over the circumference a plurality of locking tongues 7 protrude. In the exemplary embodiment, four locking tongues 7 are provided, which are distributed uniformly over the circumference of the flange 20 and radial distance from the passage openings 14, 15 have. On the flange 20 is a sealing ring 21 which has the same outer diameter as the flange 20 and engages with its radially inner edge in an annular groove 22 which is provided on the outer circumference of an annular projection 23. From him the locking tongues 7 are about vertically from. Two diametrically opposed locking tongues are provided at the free end with a radially outwardly projecting flange 24 which extends over the circumferential length of these locking tongues 7, which are part of a bayonet closure, with which the bulb holder 2 can be mounted in a lamp.

The incandescent holder 2 is advantageously integrally formed, so that it can be manufactured inexpensively in one operation. The sealing ring 21 is advantageously made of a different material than the bulb holder 2. The bulb holder 2 is an injection molded part and consists for example of polyamide 6.6 with a share of 30% glass fiber. The sealing ring 21, which consists for example of a technical elastomer, is molded in the injection mold to the bulb holder 2.

Fig. 8 shows the bulb 1 before insertion into the bulb holder 2. When mating the extension pins 5 can be easily inserted into the through holes 14, 15 of the bulb holder 2 due to the conical insertion portions 16, 17. The light bulb 1 is inserted so far until the end face 11 of the light bulb base 3 rests on the contact surface 9 of the bulb holder 2. When inserting the locking tongues 7 are elastically bent by the circumferential projection 6 of the bulb socket 3 outwardly until the provided at the free ends of the locking tongues 7 locking projections engage over the annular projection 6 of the bulb socket 3 (Fig. 9). In this way, the incandescent lamp 1 and the bulb holder 2 are securely connected to each other. In this verclipsten position, the weld 25 is located between the contact pins 4 and the extension pins 5 in the through holes 14, 15. As shown in FIG. 9, the welds 25 are in the tapered insertion portions 16, 17. The extension pins 5 are characterized in the cylindrical Sections 18, 19 of the openings 14, 15 properly guided and fixed. If the bulb holder 2 is attached to the connector, then it is ensured by this fixation and guidance that the extension pins 5 arrive reliably in the corresponding plug openings of the connector.

The inner wall 26 of the housing 12 forms a sealing surface against which the connector bears in a sealing manner.

The bulb 1 can be used for the existing on-board voltages, such as 12 volts, 19 volts or 24 volts. Since the inner wall 26 of the housing 12 is effective as a sealing surface, there is an optimal watertightness.

The bulb holder 2 can be made of any suitable injection-moldable plastic. During the injection molding process, the sealing ring 21 is molded.
