Description

The invention relates to a lock for a releasable connector according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a lock is required to connect a formed of a connector and a mating connector, releasable connector with each other and to solve by means of a simple mechanism again from each other.

The US5435744 shows a lock for a releasable connector. Here is a plug insert surrounded by a sliding two-piece sleeve. On the plug insert metal fingers are formed on both sides, which in turn have latching hooks which are directed to the outside. The outwardly directed latching hooks engage the releasable connection to a mating connector.

The EPO 738 029 A1 shows a plug with metal fingers, which have inwardly directed latching hooks. In order to lock a mating connector, engage the locking hooks behind locking lugs, which are formed on the mating connector directed outwards.

From the DE 102 36 275 B3 a locking device is known in which a sliding sleeve is arranged on a plug housing which has integrally formed locking means, which dive into latching recesses of a mating connector and can be unlocked by moving the sliding sleeve.

The US 5,634,809 shows a connector whose outer housing has a recess in which a sliding plate is inserted, which in turn is operatively connected to a sliding rod. On sliding rod locking hooks are formed, which are led out of locking openings of a mating connector when the sliding plate is moved counter to the direction of insertion.

Such known connectors are often made of plastic parts and are therefore not intended for high mating cycles, and also have relatively low locking holding forces that provide no secure locking.

The invention is therefore the object of a connector lock of the type mentioned in such a way that a störstrahlsicheres, rectangular shaped plug housing by means of a sliding mechanism Lockable with a mating connector, which has high mechanical latching forces and high mating cycles.

This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2-13.

Plug connections of this type are designed for high wear resistance and have a high EMC protection due to a metallic shell.
The locking of the connector is advantageously equipped with a sliding technology that allows a simple locking and Endriegeln the connector.
It is an achievement of about 5000 mating cycles, and high locking holding forces of 200 N advantageously only to achieve with metallic components. In addition, at the same time a clearly audible click when locking the connector to achieve metallic components.

The formed of a metal housing with a plug insert disposed therein and an end cap plug is surrounded by a made of insulating material displaceable sleeve.
In this case, the metal housing consists of latched together parts of a base housing and a cover.
Advantageously, the sleeve is displaceable by a certain distance and arranged captive on the metal housing.
By means of the displaceable sleeve, two metal fingers formed on the metal housing are moved apart so that latching hooks provided thereon be advantageously levered out of locking openings on a mating connector at a locked connector.
For this purpose, the metal fingers are guided in slots which are formed in the interior of the sleeve in the side surfaces. Advantageously, the slots are arranged in a different direction from the plug-in angle, so that in a translational movement of the sleeve, a laterally evasive movement of the latching hooks on the metal finger ends can be achieved, whereby the levering is ensured from the latching openings in the mating connector.

The connector described here is initially provided for a cable connection with a printed circuit board connector, which is also protected by a metallic hood against interference.
However, this PCB connector is easily interchangeable with a cable connector, so that a pure cable connector is feasible.

For feeding and holding the electric cable 3, an end cap 30 is provided with a kink protection 32 made of flexible insulating material, which is to be pushed onto the metal housing 5 in a form-fitting manner.

This in Fig. 2 shown base housing 10 is provided as a rectangular shaped sleeve having a bottom surface 11, a top surface 12 and two narrow side surfaces 13, wherein the top surface 12 is shorter than the oppositely disposed bottom surface 11 is executed. In the opening thus formed, the plug insert 50 is inserted into the base housing.
When correctly inserted and latched connector insert 50 into the base housing 10, the mating side 51 is held within the metal housing 5 and the sleeve 40, while the connection side 52 is still disposed within the top surface 12.
The plug insert 50 is formed of insulating material, wherein the plug side 51 socket contacts 53, which are divided into signal data and power supply in different shaped openings 54 inserted in the plug insert. (Please refer Fig. 3 )
Furthermore, it can be seen that the base housing 10 is preferably provided for the shielding effect between the cable shield 4 and the mating side, while the cover member 20 is preferably adapted for the transmission of the mechanical holding forces. Different materials may be provided for use.
On the open, freely accessible area of the base housing 10, in the direction of the electric cable 3, behind the top surface 12, the cover 20 is placed and locked.
The cover member 20 is bent substantially U-shaped, with a top surface 21, two narrow side surfaces 23 and two angled rear walls 22, which form a termination to the cable connection side, wherein a central region for the electrical insert 3 to be passed to the plug insert 50 remains free.
Pointing in the insertion direction, 20 metal fingers 27 are integrally formed on the side surfaces 23 of the cover, at the ends of latching hooks 28 are provided and at a shallow angle outwardly curved, rounded ends 29th
The cover 20 and the base housing 10 have latching lugs and detent openings formed locking means 24, 14, by means of which the two housing parts can be latched.
Furthermore, in the cover 20 in the insertion direction, a holding device 26 is provided with a three-sided free-standing latch 26 'for holding the sleeve 40 on the metal housing 5, so that the sleeve is slidably held by a certain way but captive on the metal housing 5.
On the metal housing 5 facing tongues 15, 25 are provided, wherein the molded on the cover member tongue 25 is disposed above the integrally formed on the base housing tongue 15.
Between these tongues, the electrical cable 3 is positioned after assembly with individual conductors, not shown here, with the contacts in the plug insert with its shielding braid 4. Subsequently, a ring 70 already mounted on the electric cable 3 is pushed over the two tongues 15, 25 and this arrangement is crimped by means of a crimping tool.

Dabei ist auch der leicht von der Seitenwand des Basisgehäuses 10 abstehende Metallfinger 27 den abgewinkelten Rasthaken 28 erkennbar.ln the Fig. 4 is the assembled from the two parts of the base housing 10 and cover 20 metal housing 5 with a view of the connection side with the electrical cable 3 and the still to be crimped ring 70 can be seen. In this case, the slightly projecting from the side wall of the base housing 10 metal finger 27 is the angled latching hook 28 recognizable.

In the Fig. 5a and 5b For this purpose, a section is shown, which also shows the further function of the lock.
Within this at least partially thicker wall of the side surface 42 a opposite to the insertion direction facing, wedge-shaped tongue 43 is formed, which is separated by a slot 45 of the side surface 42. On the wedge-shaped tongue 43, a sliding surface 44 is provided on which the end 29 of the metal finger 27 can slide along, wherein the tongue 43 is formed such that it is arranged between the both sides of the end of the metal finger 27 integrally formed latching hooks 28.

When sliding the sleeve 40 on the metal housing 5 and as in the Fig. 5a and 5b As can be seen, the metal fingers 27 are forcibly inserted into the slots 45 with an outwardly acting bias.
For this purpose, the end 29 of the metal finger, immediately following the double-executed locking hooks 28, slightly bent outwards, so that the end 29 is in the obliquely to the housing axis extending slots 45 can be threaded.
The further the sleeve is pushed backwards - contrary to the direction of insertion - the further the metal fingers are pulled apart.
It is provided that the opening angle in which the metal finger protrudes from the side wall in the idle state is about 25 °, while the unlocking about 30 ° are required.

The Fig. 5a indicates the "idle state" in which the plug 1 in the rest position, or here in the inserted state with a mating connector 60, in a "locking position" is shown. In this case hook the latch hooks 28 from the plug 1 in latching openings 67 of the mating connector 60 and prevents accidental release of the connector.

(Siehe dazu auch Fig. 7)The Fig. 5b shows the plug 1 with retracted sleeve 40 in an "unlocked" position, wherein the metal housing protrudes about 2 mm from the sleeve and at the same time the end 29 of the metal finger 27 projects far into the slot 45 and the latching hooks 28 are already led out of the latching openings 67, so that the connector can be solved. (See also Fig. 7 )

The Fig. 6 shows a prepared for mounting on a printed circuit board 7 mating connector 60 in an exploded view.
The mating connector 60 is formed from a metal sleeve 65, a plug insert 61 and a metal cap 64.
The metal sleeve has two mounting arms 66, each with an angled end, by means of which a ground connection to the circuit board 7 is made possible.
Furthermore, in the mounting arms 66 detent openings 68 'are provided, engage in the formed on the insulating plug insert locking lugs 69' and hold the plug insert within the metal sleeve 65.
Likewise, locking means 68 and 69 are provided on the mounting arm 66 and the metal hood 64, by means of which the metal hood is to lock on the metal sleeve.
Polarizing structures 62 are provided on the plug-in side shown here, in which plug pins are arranged, corresponding to the socket contacts 53 in the plug insert 50 arranged in the plug 1.

The metal sleeve 65 also has on the narrow sides in each case two latching openings 67 into which, in the case of a mated connection with the plug 1, the latching hooks 28 of the metal fingers 27 already described above are immersed and thus form the latching mechanism of the plug connection.

In the Fig. 7 an inserted position of the plug 1 with the mating connector 60 is shown. In this case, the sleeve 40 is shown partially cut open, so that it can be seen in the locked state shown here, as the latching hooks 28 dive into the latching openings 67 of the mating connector 60 and ensure the lock between the plug and mating connector.

In addition, the assembly of the mating connector is still shown on the circuit board 7 wherein the metal cap 64 has been omitted for better visibility on the connection portion 63.

The mating connector for a printed circuit board described here, can also be easily manufactured as a mating connector with a cable connection, wherein the locking mechanism remains unchanged.
