Description

The present invention relates to a racking device consisting essentially of vertical uprights supporting by means of removable fastening shelves for storing or presenting goods and comprising at least a bottom panel so as to form a single frame, independent and perfectly rigid.

In the field of shelving devices intended to present products, particularly in large areas, devices consisting of vertical tubular uprights provided with an opening cooperating with means for attaching arms supporting conventionally horizontal or inclined shelves are well known. back forward and up and down to present merchandise for sale.

These devices usually comprise two vertical uprights integral with a base, or even four vertical uprights linked together by horizontal crosspieces. The lower ends of the uprights then constitute the feet, arranged rectangularly to ensure the stability of the rack. These devices also comprise bottom panels supported by two uprights to form visual separators on the rear face of the rack.

The bottom panels, although ensuring their primary function of visual separator, have the disadvantage of flexing under load, that is to say they are able to deform according to the proper modes of deformation of a plate , well known, especially according to the modes of bending and / or torsion. This inevitably contributes to increasing the instability of a frame formed by two adjacent uprights and a bottom panel connecting them, in particular under the influence of significant loads arranged on the shelves that said uprights support, and this, that the configuration is the type "shelf" (four vertical uprights interconnected by horizontal crosspieces) or "gondola" type (two vertical uprights secured to a base, supporting cantilevered tablets).

We know the demand for GB Patent 2,362,808.A which discloses a shelving device equipped with two horizontal spacers high and low, arranged between the two vertical uprights which receive the bottom panels serving as a visual separator. These spacers make it possible to stiffen the vertical uprights and limit the deformations of the bottom panels.

The panels are generally made of flat sheet metal plate whose longitudinal and / or transverse edges are folded to form peripheral skirts perpendicular to the plane of said panel. These skirts are provided with holes to allow the fixing of the panels on the uprights by means of screws, rivets or any similar means. In the case of the request for GB Patent 2,362,808.A , the bottom panels are plated and fixed on the front faces of the vertical uprights by attached means of the type of fixing clips.

These different methods of fixing the bottom panels require the use of special tools and above all require a significant amount of time to assemble and disassemble the various components of each racking device.

Furthermore, the bottom panels have the disadvantage, during their production, to occupy a large volume and therefore a large storage area. Indeed the storage of these panels is by stacking on a pallet leaving a free volume between two successive panels, corresponding to the height of the skirts. This is a loss of volume which results in a higher ground occupation which considerably increases the costs of storage before assembly but also transport costs.

One of the aims of the invention is therefore to overcome these disadvantages by providing a racking device comprising at least one bottom panel, which can be dismounted and reassembled without using a specific tool, in a minimum of time, allowing 'increase the stiffness of realized structure and decrease its storage volume before assembly.

For this purpose and in accordance with the invention, there is provided a shelving device comprising at least one bottom panel, of generally rectangular shape and consisting of a flat plate, supported by at least two tubular vertical uprights of generally rectangular section provided with , on their front and / or rear faces, openings cooperating with means of attachment to arms for supporting horizontal or inclined tablets from back to front and from top to bottom, and at least one spacer rigidifying the frame, remarkable in that the at least one panel (s) which are then superimposed are provided with fastening means which fit and catch in the lateral faces of the vertical uprights, the insertion being done by bending the panels obtained by their flat plate shape.

The invention also relates to a method of laying the bottom panel used in the shelving device, remarkable in that the installation of the bottom panels 10 is obtained:
  • positioning and inserting the hooks of the first vertical edge of the panel into openings on the side faces of the first vertical upright,
  • by manually bending the panel until the width of the bent panel, including the hooks, is smaller than that of the side faces of the two uprights, thereby:
    • positioning the hooks of the second vertical edge of the curved panel opposite the openings on the lateral face of the second vertical upright, then,
    • to let the curved panel resume its normal and initial shape by ceasing to exert the bending force, and parallel to this step,
    • to insert the hooks of the second vertical edge of the panel into the openings on the lateral face of the second vertical upright.

The invention also relates to a method of assembling the racking device according to any one of claims 1 to 12, comprising a first step of mounting the base and at least two vertical uprights on which is mounted at least one spacer to their upper end, by insertion of hooks of said spacer in the openings on the side faces of said uprights, characterized in that it then comprises the realization of the following steps:
  • laying by bending a first bottom panel by inserting the hooks for hooking said panel into the openings of the side faces of the uprights which simultaneously receive the hooks of attachment of the high spacer, then,
  • laying by bending successive bottom panels by superimposing and possibly overlapping them, the overlap being obtained by inserting the hooking hooks of a first panel in the openings of the side faces of the uprights which simultaneously receive the hooks hooking a second adjacent panel.

The bending of the bottom panels is obtained according to the method of laying the panel as presented above.

It is understood that the structure obtained by the simultaneous use of bottom panels and spacers for connecting two adjacent posts has a greater rigidity because the spacers advantageously remove the possibility of deformation of a single bottom panel which is, on the reminder, likely to deform in torsion and bending under loads. On the other hand, the presence of the bottom panel (s) eliminates any distortion of the deformable parallelogram type that the presence of horizontal struts alone to connect two vertical uprights could generate.

It is also understood that such a design advantageously makes it possible to mount and fix very easily, without tooling and without any attachment part reported, the bottom panels on the side faces of the uprights. It allows remarkably superimposed and possibly overlap several panels to adjust the height of the gondola set up which is delimited at its upper end by a high spacer and at its lower end by the base of the device or possibly by a low spacer.

In addition these panels do not include peripheral skirts unlike the prior art which allows pallet stacking without loss of volume to the extent that they can be placed directly on each other.

In this example of non-limiting embodiment, a racking device with two vertical uprights, conventionally called a "gondola", implementing a rigid, indeformable frame according to the invention, comprising together: two vertical uprights, two horizontally horizontal struts and one bottom panel disposed between said posts; it is understood that a similar description could have been given from an exemplary embodiment where the racking device would be four vertical uprights conventionally called shelf.

The gondola 1 with reference to the figure 1 , Consists of two vertical uprights 2 a and 2 b maintained in a stable upright position by a base 3 comprising horizontal beams, not shown, integral with the lower portions of the vertical uprights 2 a, 2 b and provided at the free end of cylinders 4 adjustable plastic to ensure the stability of the gondola 1. The horizontal members of the base 3 support trays 5 covering the structure of the base 3 and forming on either side of the uprights 2 a , 2 b a tablet of presentation.

The uprights 2a and 2b are formed of rectangular tubes having on their front and back sides, that is to say the face and the opposite face of the uprights when looking at the gondola 1 Front rectangular openings 6, arranged in line one under the other along their length and regularly spaced along the vertical uprights 2 a , 2 b allow the attachment of arms 7 extending forwardly and generally triangular, provided at their base hooks for their reversible attachment easily removable to the amounts 2 a , 2 b . The arms 7 are used to support trays 8 to form presentation shelves 9 of each side uprights 2 and 2b, which are exposed and products for sale. Thus, a first alignment by superimposing shelves 9 extends forwardly toward a first circulating path where the customers and a second alignment bars 9 symmetrical with respect to the vertical uprights 2 a, 2 b extends toward the back towards a second alley parallel to the first.

It goes without saying that the arms 7 and therefore the presentation tablets 9 may be more or less inclined from back to front and from top to bottom according to the invention and that the uprights 2 a , 2 b may consist of tubes of cylindrical or polygonal section.

In order to visually separate the products presented in an aisle from the parallel, the gondola comprises a bottom panel 10 with reference to the figure 1 , Extending between the two vertical uprights 2 a, 2 b with which it is fastened to separate the gondola 1 into two separate traffic areas. The bottom panel 10 extends from the lower part of uprights 2 a, 2 b until their upper ends so that the separation of the two traffic areas is complete and to ensure greater stiffness of the gondola structure 1.

It goes without saying that the separation of the traffic areas may be effected by several overlapping bottom panels 10 as will be described below.

Afin de renforcer la rigidité du cadre, on pourra éventuellement équiper la gondole 1 d'une entretoise 12, disposée horizontalement à l'extrémité basse des montants 2a,2b, en dessous du panneau de fond 10.The lower end of the posts 2 a, 2 b is sufficiently stiffened on the base 3 which, dressed by plates 5 constituting a display shelf, is loaded with articles and then has a very good stability. In order to reinforce the rigidity of the frame, it may be possible to equip the gondola 1 of a spacer 12, disposed horizontally to the lower end of uprights 2 a, 2 b, below the bottom panel 10.

In the example of racking device shown in the accompanying figures, on which the following description of the invention is based, there are two spacers 11 and 12, respectively high and low, arranged horizontally horizontally on both sides. another of the bottom panel 10, that is to say one above the latter and the other below.

With reference to the figure 2 , the bottom panel 10 has on its vertical edges means for fixing to the lateral faces 13 of the vertical uprights 2 a , 2 b which are in principles of hooks 14 in the general shape of "L" coated, able to be inserted in openings 15 formed along said lateral faces 13. The openings 15 are distributed in a line centered on the side faces 13 or not, (depending on the desired application) according to a regular step and according to their length. Similarly, the hooks 14 are distributed over the entire length of the vertical sides of the bottom panel 10 at a regular pitch of a value corresponding to an integer multiple of that of the pitch of the openings 15.

Classiquement le panneau de fond 10 est une plaque plane globalement de forme rectangulaire et l'épaisseur des crochets 14 est égale à celle de la plaque de tôle à partir de laquelle est obtenu le panneau de fond 10.The bottom panels 10 are made by cutting sheet metal plates whose thickness is reduced compared to the prior art, the rigidity of the frame to which the bottom panel 10 belongs, being obtained in parallel thanks to the spacers 11 and 12 whose number can be equal to or greater than two. Conventionally, the bottom panel 10 is a generally rectangular flat plate and the thickness of the hooks 14 is equal to that of the sheet metal plate from which the bottom panel 10 is obtained.

In a nonlimiting preferential embodiment, the bottom panel 10 is made of metal and has a thickness of the order of one millimeter which allows the panel to be manually bent in the elastic range, the panel returning to its original shape when it stops. bending effort on this one.

It goes without saying that the bottom panels 10 can be made of wood, plexiglas®, plastic or more generally from any material that can be in the form of a rectangular plate, rigid enough to fulfill its role while admitting of bend during assembly as it will be explained later.

The bottom panel 10 has a width between its vertical edges, i.e. besides the hooks 14, substantially smaller than, and at most equal to the width between the side faces 13 of the two uprights 2 and 2b. While the width of the bottom panel 10 including the hooks 14 disposed on both vertical edges, is greater than the width between the side faces 13 of the two uprights 2 and 2b, in the normal position of equilibrium of said panel 10.

Thus, during the assembly of the racking device 1, object of the present invention, the installation of a bottom panel 10 is obtained in the following manner:
  • a) positioning and inserting the hooks 14 of the first vertical edge of the panel 10 in the openings 15 on the lateral face 13 of the first vertical upright 2 a , 2 b ,
  • b) manually bend the panel 10 until the width of the bent panel, including the hooks 14, is less than that separating the lateral faces 13 of the two uprights 2 and 2b, thereby enabling:
    • position the hooks 14 of the second vertical edge of the curved panel 10 opposite openings 15 on the side face 13 of the second vertical upright 2a or 2b, and then,
    • to let the curved panel 10 resume its normal and initial shape by ceasing to exert the bending force, and parallel to this step,
    • insert the hooks 14 of the second vertical edge of the panel 10 in the openings 15 on the side face 13 of the second vertical upright 2 a or 2 b.

Advantageously, the width of the openings 15 is greater than twice the thickness of a bottom panel 10, so that two hooks 14 belonging to two different bottom panels can be simultaneously introduced into an opening 15. to overlap two bottom panels 10 and thereby adjust the desired total height of the separation of the traffic areas. It is clear that, according to another alternative embodiment, not shown in the figures, the bottom can be obtained by superposition of two or more panels 10 mounted one below the other.

Advantageously again, the spacers 11 and 12 are identical and are obtained by cutting, then folding a sheet along two folds 16 and 17 ( figure 5 ) longitudinal, parallel to each other so that each has a section in the general shape of "Z". Each end 18, 19 of a spacer 11, 12 has attachment means to the lateral faces 13 of the uprights 2 a, 2 b, easily removable. More specifically in the particular embodiment described herein and with reference to the figure 4 each of the ends 18 and 19 comprises two hooks 20 of similar shape to the hooks 14 arranged on the vertical sides of the bottom panels 10. The section of general shape in "Z" makes it possible to obtain a very high resistance to flexion and to the torsion of the spacers 11 and 12. The thickness of the sheet from which the spacers 11 and 12 are obtained is the main parameter which influences this resistance.

According to another particular feature, the openings 15 have a width greater than the sum of the thicknesses of the sheet forming the spacers 11 and 12 and the sheet forming the bottom panels 10, which makes it possible to simultaneously introduce into an opening 15 a hook 14 for hooking a bottom panel 10 and a hook 20 for hooking a spacer 11, 12. This characteristic makes it possible to obtain the configuration presented in FIG. figure 6 where the flat portion of each spacer 11 or 12 formed by the vertical portion of the "Z" section is parallel to the bottom panel 10. To increase the rigidity of the assembly, the spacer 11 is disposed on one side of the plane to which the bottom panel 10 belongs, while the spacer 12 is disposed on the other side.

Finally each end 18, 19 of a spacer 11, 12 comprises removable means to prevent unintentional unhooking by lifting thereof. More precisely at least one tongue 21 ( figure 4 ) is provided so as to be inserted after folding in an opening 15 of the upright 2 a , 2 b corresponding, the tab then coming into contact with the upper side 22 ( figure 3 ) of said opening 15. Thus during mounting of metal furniture described, it suffices for the operator to fold the tabs 21 disposed at the ends 18 and 19 of spacers 11 and 12 after the latter have been attached to the uprights 2 and 2b for s ensure that the unintentional stall of a spacer 11 and 12 is impossible, except to force the tongues 21 in their initial configuration.

It follows from the foregoing that the assembly of the shelving system components requires no tools and is effected by simple interlocking hooks 14, 20 in the openings 15 of the vertical uprights 2 a, 2 b, the mounting and dismounting the bottom panel (s) 10 being made by bending them, which is possible because of their small thickness, while obtaining a particularly rigid assembly.

Similarly, the fact of superimposing identical panels 10 to achieve the bottom of the shelves, according to the invention provides the decisive advantage of reducing the number of panel references to manage the different cases of height of the uprights 2, thus providing a significant gain in production.

In a preferred and nonlimiting mode, the bottom panels 10 will preferably have a height of the order of fifty centimeters; the racking device 1 will require, in this case, to superpose and possibly overlap at least three bottom panels 10. Thus, the assembly of the racking device 1 object of the present invention is obtained very easily because of the remarkable design said device 1 by performing the following steps that occur after a first step of mounting the base 3 and at least two vertical uprights 2 a, 2 b on which is mounted at least one spacer 11 at their upper end, by inserting the hooks 20 hooking said spacers 11,12 in the openings 15 on the side faces 13 of said uprights 2 a , 2 b :
  • bending a first bottom panel 10 by inserting hooks 14 hooking said panel 10 in the openings 15 of the side faces 13 of the uprights 2a, 2b which simultaneously receive the hooks 20 of attachment of the spacer 11 high, then, optionally
  • bending we put the bottom panels 10 successive superimposing them and possibly by overlapping them, overlapping being obtained by inserting the hooks 14 for attaching a first panel 10 in the openings 15 of the side faces 13 of the uprights 2 a, 2b which simultaneously receive hooks 14 for hooking a second adjacent panel 10.

In the configuration shown in the accompanying figures in which the racking device is equipped with two spacers 11, 12 high and low, an additional step of laying is carried out:
  • by bending a second bottom panel 10 by inserting hooks 14 for hooking said panel 10 into the openings 15 of the side faces 13 of the uprights 2a, 2b which simultaneously receive the hooks 20 of attachment of the spacer 12 low.

The term "successive bottom panels 10" means that following the laying of the first bottom panel 10, mounted simultaneously with the spacer 11 high, is laid successively, by superimposing and possibly overlapping, the panels bottom 10 until it reaches either the bottom end of the uprights 2 a, 2 b, limited by the base 3, the second bottom panel 10 mounted simultaneously with an overload 12 low spacer.

It will first be specified that the bending of the bottom panels 10 is obtained by the laying method as described above, and then that the two steps of positioning the bottom panels 10 with the high 11 and low 12 spacers can be realized following an indifferent order.

Particularly advantageously, and because of the flat shape of the bottom panels 10 and their positioning between the lateral faces, each plate 8 may have two identical rectangular notches (not shown) respectively at the ends of the rear side of said plate, that is to say the side of the plate 8 closest to the panel (s) bottom 10. The depth of each notch is greater than or equal to half the width of a side face 13 of a vertical upright 2, 2b, so that after the mounting plate 8 of the support arm 7, one of the vertical uprights 2 a or 2b is housed in the space provided by each notch, while the rear side of said plate 8 comes into contact with the corresponding bottom panel 10. This configuration makes it possible to increase the storage space offered by the trays 8 for an equivalent size and dimensions of the gondola, on the one hand, and to prevent objects placed near the rear side of the plate 8 from falling between the panel. corresponding bottom 10 and said rear side of the other.

For the same purpose, it is possible to provide when using rectangular trays 8 a spacer that is interposed between the rear side of a plate 8 and the corresponding bottom panel 10. This spacer is easily removable, has an upper face generally parallel to the plane defined by the plate 8 itself and secures the plate removably by any known means. It is obvious that the length of the spacer must be less than or equal to the distance between the two uprights 2 a , 2 b .

Finally it goes without saying that the bottom panel (s) according to the invention can be adapted to all types of racking device or metal furniture, such as for example to a vertical four-post racking device, and that the examples which have just been given are only particular illustrations in no way limiting the fields of application of the invention.

Device as claimed in the preceding claim characterised in that the openings (15) are of rectangular shape, distributed in a line according to their length and according to a regular pitch and in that the hooks (14) are distributed according to a regular pitch of a value corresponding to an integral multiple of that of the pitch of the distribution of the openings (15).
  4. Device as set forth in any of the preceding claims characterised in that the back panel(s) (10) are obtained by cutting a sheet metal plate of reduced thickness.
  5. Device set forth in claim 4 characterised in that the width of the openings (15) is greater than twice the thickness of a back panel (10).
  6. Device as set forth in any of the preceding claims characterised in that it comprises two cross-braces (11, 12) arranged at the top and bottom ends of the vertical upright columns (2a, 2b), one (11) above the back panel(s) (10) and the other (12) below the back panel(s) (10).
  7. Device as set forth in any of claims 2 to 6 characterised in that the fastening means of the cross-braces (11, 12) to the vertical upright columns comprise at least two horizontally-inclined L-shaped hooks (20), arranged at each end (18, 19) of each cross-brace (11, 12), able to cooperate with the openings (15) made on the lateral sides (13) of the upright columns (2a, 2b).
  8. Device as set forth in any of the preceding claims characterised in that the cross-braces (11) and (12) are identical and are obtained by cutting and then folding a piece of sheet metal according to two folds (16, 17), longitudinal, and parallel in relation to one another in such a way that each one of said cross-braces (11) and (12) have a Z-shaped section.
  9. Device as set forth in any of claims 2 to 8 characterised in that each end (18, 19) of a cross-brace (11, 12) comprises removable means making it possible to avoid involuntary unhooking of said cross-braces (11, 12) consisting of at least one tab (21) provided in such a way as to be inserted after folding into an opening (15) of the corresponding upright column (2a, 2b), in such a way that the tab (21) comes into contact with the upper side (22) of said opening (15).
  10. Device according to claims 5 and 8, characterised in that the width of the openings (15) is greater than the sum of the thicknesses of the sheet metal forming the cross-braces (11, 12) and of the sheet metal forming a back panel (10).
  11. Device as set forth in any of claims 5 to 10 characterised in that the back panels (10) are able to overlap, two hooks (14, 20) being then simultaneously introduced into an opening (15) made on the lateral side (13) of the upright columns (2a, 2b).
  12. Device as set forth in any of the preceding claims characterised in that each plate (8) has two rectangular notches made respectively at the ends of the rear side of said plate (8), the depth of each notch being greater than or equal to half the width of one lateral side (13) of a vertical upright column (2a, 2b).
  13. Device set forth in claim 12 characterised in that the rear end of the plate (8) is in contact with the back panel (10), in order to increase the storage space of said plate (8) and prevent the falling of the objects arranged on the latter.
  14. Device as set forth in any of the preceding claims characterised in that an easily-removable cross-brace is inserted between the rear side of a rectangular plate (8) and the corresponding back panel (10), the upper side of said cross-brace being globally parallel to the plane defined by the plate (8) while the cross-brace is attached in a movable way to said plate (8) by any known means.
  15. Method of installing the back panel (10) utilised in the shelving device (1) according to the preceding claims, characterised in that the installation of the back panels (10) is obtained in the following manner:
    - the hooks (14) of the first vertical edge of the panel (10) are arranged and inserted into the openings (15) located on the lateral sides (13) of the first vertical upright column (2a, 2b),
    - the panel (10) is bent manually until the width of the bent panel, including the hooks (14), is less than that separating the lateral sides (13) of the two vertical upright columns (2a, 2b), thus making it possible to:
    - position the hooks (14) of the second vertical edge of the bent panel (10) across from the openings (15) on the lateral side (13) of the second vertical upright column (2a, 2b), then,
    - allow the bent panel (10) to return to its initial and normal form by ceasing to exert the bending pressure, and in parallel to this step,
    - insert the hooks (14) of the second vertical edge of the panel (10) into the openings (15) on the lateral side (13) of the second vertical upright column (2a, 2b).
  16. Method of assembly for the shelving device (1) as set forth in any of claims 1 to 14, comprising a first step of installing the base (3) and at least two vertical upright columns (2a, 2b) on which are mounted at least one cross-brace (11) at their top end, via the insertion of the hooking hooks (20) of said cross-braces (11, 12) into the openings (15) on the lateral sides (13) of said upright columns (2a, 2b) characterised in that it then comprises the realisation of the following steps:
    - installation via bending of a first back panel (10) by inserting the hooking hooks (14) of said panel (10) into the openings (15) of the lateral sides (13) of the upright columns (2a, 2b) that simultaneously receive the hooking hooks (20) of the top cross-brace (11), then,
    - installation via bending of successive back panels (10) by superimposing them and possibly by overlapping them, with the overlapping being obtained by inserting the hooking hooks (14) of a first panel (10) into the openings (15) of the lateral sides (13) of the upright columns (2a, 2b) that simultaneously receive the hooking hooks (14) of a second adjacent panel (10), the bending of the back panels (10) being obtained according to the installation method of the preceding claim.
