Description

The invention relates to a connecting device according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

From the DE 199 59 955 C2 a connecting device for exhaust pipes is known, the end formed and formed in cross-section V-shaped connecting elements. Furthermore, from the WO 02/066801 A1 a connecting device for exhaust pipes, in which the one exhaust pipe is provided an outwardly directed connecting flange and the further subsequent exhaust pipe with a cross-sectionally approximately V-shaped connecting element.

The object of the invention is to provide an improved connection device for exhaust pipes, so that a replacement of a catalyst from one of the exhaust pipes is simplified and, moreover, a decrease in the gas temperature is avoided before the catalyst.

This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1. Further advantageous features include the subclaims.

The advantages achieved by the invention are that on the one hand a quick and easy replaceability of a catalyst from the receiving tube is ensured by means of the connecting device and on the other hand, the gas flow guide before the catalyst should not be limited. This is achieved essentially by connecting a cross-sectionally V-shaped ring element with an end flange of the exhaust gas inlet tube, which is supported with one of its oblique surfaces on an opposing inclined surface of an angularly angular ring element. This ring member is connected to the receiving tube, wherein the V-shaped ring member and the angular Ring element are overlapped together by a V-shaped clamp of a connecting device together.

This design and arrangement of the connecting device, the flow path in the exhaust gas inlet tube unhindered by the device and the connecting device can be closed in a simple manner and opened to remove the catalyst.

Furthermore, it is provided according to the invention that the end flange of the exhaust gas inlet tube extends radially outward and is arranged in a plane with an opposite connecting flange of the V-shaped ring member which engages over the receiving tube from the outside. As a result of this design of the connecting element on the exhaust gas inlet pipe, a minimal installation space is required and the outlet area of the exhaust gas outlet pipe corresponds almost to the diameter or the cross-section of the catalyst.

It is further provided according to the invention that the angular ring member is arranged with a leg in the region of the insulation of the catalyst and connected to the receiving tube in this area, the further adjoining leg engages over the inclined surface of the V-shaped ring member from the outside and corresponding thereto is arranged. By connecting the angular ring element with its one leg on the receiving tube in the region of the insulation of the catalyst, no disadvantageous decrease in the gas temperature is generated before the catalyst, so that the exhaust gas temperature is not reduced by thermal masses.

According to a device not according to the invention, it is provided that the exhaust gas inlet tube and the receiving tube are each connected to an annular cross-section annular element, both of which have a mounting flange projecting radially in a plane, which faces and with each other are connectable. In this device too, the angular ring element connected to the receiving tube lies with its one leg in the region of the insulation of the catalyst and is connected to the receiving tube. By this device, a simple quick to be solved and closed connecting device of exhaust pipes is provided, which also includes all the advantages of the aforementioned device, in particular the flow control and the gas temperature upstream of the catalyst.

According to a device not according to the invention, the angular ring element is integrally formed on the end side of the gas inlet tube and the V-shaped further ring element is fastened with a leg on the receiving tube in the region of the insulation.

Embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings 1 and 2 and will be described in more detail below.
