Abstract

A compact siphon construction for sanitary fittings comprises a compact siphon body defining, in its inside, through a wall, an inlet space or volume and an outlet chamber.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a compact siphon construction, specifically designed for sanitary fittings.
  • Siphon constructions for sanitary fittings are already known: however, prior siphon constructions are affected by a lot of drawbacks.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The aim of the present invention is to provide such a compact siphon construction which can be made in a much more efficient manner, from a mere industrial standpoint.
  • Within the scope of the above mentioned aim, a main object of the invention is to provide such a siphon construction which occupies a very small space under a sanitary fitting such as a wash basin or the like.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide such a siphon construction which is very functional from a user standpoint.
  • According to one aspect of the present invention, the above mentioned aim and objects, as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a compact siphon construction, particularly for sanitary fittings, characterized in that said siphon construction comprises a compact siphon body, defining in its inside, through a wall, an inlet volume and an outlet chamber.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent hereinafter from the following detailed disclosure of a preferred, though not exclusive, embodiment of the invention, which is illustrated, by way of an indicative, but not limitative, example in the accompanying drawings, where:
  • Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of a compact siphon construction according to the present invention; and
  • Figure 2 is an elevation side view, as cross-sectioned, of the siphon construction according to the present invention.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference to the number references of the above mentioned figures, the siphon construction according to the present invention, which has been generally indicated by the reference number 1, comprises a siphon body 11, which defines in its inside, through a wall 12, an inlet volume or space 13 and an outlet chamber 13', including an outlet fitting 14 provided for engagement in an outlet hole 15 formed in a wall 16.
  • More specifically, the siphon body 11 comprises, at the bottom thereof, an inspection hole, closed by a plug 3 including an O-ring 2.
  • At the top thereof, the siphon body 11 comprises a threaded inlet 17, thereon a cover 4 is arranged and to which a tube 6 can be coupled through a cap 10, through a coupling gasket 8 and a washer 19.
  • The tube 9 is coupled to an elbow 7 in turn coupled to the drain assembly of a wash basin or the like, not specifically shown.
  • The siphon body 11, in normal operation, is closed by a snap engageable casing 5.
  • The operation of the siphon construction according to the present invention is similar to that of a conventional siphon construction, and its inspection, cleaning and maintenance operations, as well as the operation for recovering articles therefrom, can be performed in a very simple and quick manner.
  • In fact, it would be sufficient to remove the casing 5 to access the plug 3 which can be easily unthreaded.
  • It has been found that the invention fully achieves the intended aim and objects.
  • In fact, the invention provides a compact siphon construction which, in addition to occupying a very small space, can be made by making methods which are much more unexpensive than prior methods for making siphons.
  • In practicing the invention, the used materials, as well as the contingent size and shapes, can be any, depending on requirements.
