Description

The invention relates to a device for increasing the seat height on a toilet.

Such devices for increasing the seat height on a toilet, hereinafter referred to as raised toilet seat, are mounted mainly by seniors and the disabled on the toilet. They make it easier to get up from a toilet because they increase the center of gravity of the person sitting on the toilet.

From the EP 0 777 994 A1 For example, there is known a toilet seat riser comprising a booster seat portion, a lid, an arm frame, and a bearing block. The booster seat part is pivotable about a bearing body which is mounted in an opening of the bearing block. On the bearing block also a lid is pivotally mounted. The storage of the lid is spaced from the bearing body for pivoting the seat part. A portion of the arm frame extends in a further bearing recess of the bearing block.

Also from the DE 101 36 218 A1 is known a raised toilet seat, the basic structure of which in the above EP 0 777 994 A1 revealed increased toilet seat.

Demontage.A disadvantage of these two conventional toilet riser increases each of the large number of items. The large number of individual parts has a negative effect on the production costs. In addition, it makes assembly and disassembly difficult.

From the US 3,405,411 a toilet seat is known, which has a top view U-shaped form and is stored together with a toilet lid. The storage takes place via a common bearing body and a common bearing axis.

In the US 6,189,159 B1 discloses a combined toilet seat for children on the one hand and adults on the other. The toilet seat designed for children has a seating area that is wider than that of the adult-designed seat, while the adult designed toilet seat has a larger opening than the toilet seat designed for children. Since the child seat must be naturally located above the adult seat due to its smaller opening, resulting in children, insofar unfavorably, a higher seat height than for adults.

On this basis, the invention has the object, a toilet seat lift in such a way that it is particularly inexpensive manufacturable and easily assembled or disassembled.

This object is achieved in that includes the raised toilet seat
  • a bearing body for attachment to a toilet,
  • a bearing element, which is mounted in the bearing body and has a bearing axis,
  • a booster seat part having
    • - a support surface for resting on an upper Klosettrand,
    • - a seating area,
    • - a seat part opening and
    • - A seat part bearing portion for supporting the seat part on the bearing element, and
  • a lid for covering the seat part opening,
  • wherein the seat part and the cover are mounted on the bearing element, wherein the seat part bearing portion can be latched onto the bearing element.

This connection is particularly easy and fast to produce.

Preferably, the lid can be latched onto the bearing element. Also this connection is easy and easy to bring about.

It is expedient that the seat part is pivotable about the bearing axis. In the raised position of the seat part, for example, the seat part from below or the seat part supporting Klosettrand be easily cleaned.

The cover is preferably pivotable about the bearing axis. This too is advantageous for hygiene reasons.

Advantageously, the bearing element on at least one hollow end portion, wherein at least one armrest are provided, which preferably has a bearing pin for mounting in the at least one end portion of the bearing element. The bearing element can thus serve in addition to the storage of the seat part and the lid for the storage of at least one armrest.

According to a further advantageous embodiment, the at least one armrest is pivotable about the bearing axis. In the raised position of the armrest can be relieved on the toilet, unlike a lowered armrest.

Another structural feature is characterized in that the bearing body and the at least one armrest can be locked together.

It is of great advantage if the bearing element is rotatably mounted in the bearing body.

One in the FIGS. 1 to 3 illustrated toilet seat 1 includes a booster seat part 2, a lid 3 and two outer armrests 4, wherein only one armrest 4 is shown in the drawings. The seat part 2 is in communication with a bearing element 5, with which also the cover 3 and the armrests 4 are in communication. The seat part 2, the cover 3 and the armrests 4 are pivotable. The bearing element 5 is in turn mounted in a bearing body 6, which (not shown) for attaching the toilet seat elevation 1 on a toilet.

The existing plastic bearing body 6 is in this embodiment via two cuboid spacer blocks 7 with the toilet in connection. The spacer blocks 7 may also be formed as hollow profiles. The number of spacer blocks 7 is dependent on the height of the seat part 2.

The integrally formed bearing body 6 has a bearing body base 8 with a flat bottom 9 and flat top 10. From the distance blocks 7 facing away from the top 10 of the bearing body base 8 jump two spaced apart, identically formed bearing blocks 11. Each bearing block 11 is connected to an edge portion 12 of the bearing body base 8. The two bearing blocks 11 each have a bearing recess 13 and a bearing recess 13 at least partially laterally delimiting boundary wall 14. The bearing recesses 13 are aligned with each other and are non-circular in cross section. The boundary walls 14 have on the inside an upper, uniformly curved bearing section 15 and a lower straight bearing section 16. The storage sections 16 are parallel to the top 10 of the bearing body base 8, but are spaced therefrom.

The bearing body 6 also comprises locking devices 17. Each bearing block 11 has its own locking device 17, which has a bottom root section 18 which is in communication with the bearing body base 8 and / or the boundary wall 14. In this Ausfiihrungsbeispiel the root portion 18 extends exactly between the bearing body base 8 and the bearing block 11. At the parallel to the top 10 of the bearing body base 8 extending root portion 18 is followed by a pivoting portion 19 at the top by a U-shaped Boundary wall 14 penetrating recess 20 is limited. The locking means 17 are thus only about the corresponding root portion 18 with the bearing body base 8 and / or the corresponding boundary wall 14 in connection. The pivot portion 19 has at its upper end a jumping into the bearing recess 13 Arretieransatz 21 and an outwardly leaping handle approach 22. The Arretieransatz 21 is designed trapezoidal in longitudinal section.

In the bearing body base 8 are located between the bearing blocks 11, two spaced apart slots 23 whose longitudinal extent coincides with the longitudinal extent of the bearing body base 8.

In each spacer block 7, two slots 24 are also provided. The width and the length of the bearing body 6 corresponds to the length and the width of a spacer block 7. The position of the elongated holes 23 in the bearing body 6 coincides with the position of the slots 24 in the spacer blocks 7. The bearing body 6 is to be screwed to the toilet. For this purpose, two fastening screws (not shown) are provided, which are the slots 23 of the bearing body 6 and the slots 24 in the spacer blocks 7 penetrate. The underside 9 of the bearing body base 8 rests on a spacer block 7. To fix the bearing body 6 on the toilet, a nut (not shown) is screwed onto each fastening screw.

The one-piece, made of plastic bearing element 5 is formed as a hollow, elongated, laterally open bearing tube. It is thin-walled and comprises a continuous longitudinal recess 49. It has an annular cross section in the middle section 25, to which at each end a storage area 26 connects. Between the central portion 25 and a storage area 26, a limiting shoulder 27 is provided. The outer dimension of the central portion 25 is smaller than the outer dimension of the adjacent storage area 26. Each storage area 26 has a uniformly curved inner surface 28 and a non-circular outer surface 29 in cross-section. The bearing element 5 has a bearing axis A, which coincides with the longitudinal center axis of the central portion 25. The cross-sectional shape of the outer surface 29 corresponds to the cross-sectional shape of the bearing recess 13, that is, it also has a uniformly curved bearing portion 30 and a straight bearing portion 31. In each storage area 26 is a window opening 52. The dimensions of the window opening 52 corresponds approximately to the cross-sectional shape of a Arretierungsansatzes 21. However, it can also be substantially greater than the height of the Arretierierungssatzes 21 in the circumferential direction of the bearing area 26. The dimensions of the storage area 26 are selected so that on the one hand a recording of the bearing portions 26 in the bearing recesses 13 of the bearing body 6 is possible, on the other hand, a rotation between the bearing element 5 and the bearing body 6 is prevented. The length of the bearing element 5 corresponds to the length of the bearing body 6. The two bearing portions 26 are formed longer than the bearing recesses 13, that is, it protrudes a portion of each bearing portion 26 from the bearing recesses 13 of the bearing body 6 inwards. These sections are located between the two bearing blocks eleventh

The one-piece seat part 2 made of plastic has an upper free seat 32, which serves to support a person and is substantially planar. It also has a seat surface 32 opposite bearing surface 33, which is also flat. The seat part 2 is to hang over the support surface 33 on the upper free Klosettrand a toilet. The seat 32 and the support surface 33 are slightly inclined to each other and are connected to each other via a side wall 34. The seat part 2 further has a seat part opening 35 which is bounded laterally by the side wall 34. The seat part opening 35 tapers from the seat surface 32 in the direction of the support surface 33. From the inner edge 36 of the support surface 33, a circumferential splash guard projection 37 protrudes downwards. This splash guard 37 is provided for reasons of hygiene. It prevents that when using the toilet liquid, such as urine or toilet flushing water, between the upper Klosettrand and the support surface 33 can get.

At the rear of the seat part 2 there is a seat part bearing section 38, which has a wall section 39 connected to the seat part 2, a free wall area 40 adjoining the wall section 39, and a wall part 39 partially bounded laterally by the wall section 39 Bearing opening 41 has. The bearing opening 41 is open at the bottom. The seat part bearing portion 38 is located in the upper region of the seat part 2, wherein the wall portion 40 projects beyond the seat surface 32. The inner surface of the wall portion 39 is formed flat and extends approximately perpendicular to the support surface 33. The wall portion 40 has on the inside a uniform curvature. The radius of curvature of the inner surface of the wall portion 40 substantially corresponds to the radius of curvature of the central portion 25 and is smaller than that of the bearing portion 30 of the bearing element fifth

On the lid 3, two spaced-apart bearing brackets 42 are integrally formed at the rear end, each having an inside, uniformly curved bearing surface 43 and a partially enclosed by the bearing surface 43 bearing opening 44. The bearing clips 42 are open at the bottom. The radius of curvature of a bearing surface 43 substantially corresponds to the radius of curvature of the bearing portion 30 of the bearing element 5. The distance between the wall portion 39 and the lower free end of the wall portion 40 is less than the diameter of the central portion 25. The inner distance of the bearing brackets 42 to each other corresponds approximately the length of the seat portion-bearing portion 38. The lid 3 is integrally formed and made of plastic.

The integrally formed plastic armrests 4 have an armrest 45, which are connected via two connecting struts 46 with a base portion 47. In the region of the base portion 47, an inwardly projecting bearing pin 48 is provided which has a circular cross-section. The outer diameter of the bearing pin 48 substantially corresponds to the diameter of the longitudinal recess 49 in the region of the bearing region 26 of the bearing element 5. In the bearing pin 48 has an outwardly open locking groove 51 is formed, which is annular. It runs around the entire circumference of the bearing pin 48. Its width corresponds substantially to the width of the Arretieransatzes 21. In the following, the installation of the toilet seat riser 1 is explained.

Also, the raised toilet seat 1 in its assembled state, as in the Figures 2 and 3 is illustrated.

As already mentioned, the bearing body 6 is to be screwed over the spacer blocks 7 with the toilet.

Subsequently, the bearing element 5 is to be inserted along its bearing axis A into the bearing recesses 13 of the bearing body 6 until the bearing areas 26 are located in the bearing recesses 13. Due to the non-circular cross-sectional shape of the bearing recesses 13 and the outer surfaces 29 and the dimensions already described, a relative pivoting between the bearing element 5 and the bearing body 6 is prevented. Thus, there is a non-rotatable mounting between the bearing element 5 and the bearing body 6. The locking projections 21 engage in the window openings 52, whereby the bearing element 5 is also fixed in the direction of its bearing axis A in its position.

Subsequently, the seat part 2 is aufzusasten over its seat part bearing portion 38 on the central portion 25 of the bearing element 5. The seat part bearing portion 38 is to bring about the bearing opening 41 with the central portion 25 in connection. The wall portion 40 partially engages in the assembled state, the central portion 25. By dimensioning the central portion 25 and the distance of the wall portion 39 to the free end of the wall portion 40 unintentional release of the seat part 2 is prevented by the bearing element 5. The Begrenzungsschultem 27 prevent the seat part 2 of the bearing element 5 along the bearing axis A is displaceable. When mounted, the limiters 27 abut or are slightly spaced from the side edge 50 of the seat portion support portion 38.

The inclination of the seat 32 can be adjusted, for example, by various combinations of seat parts 2 with spacer blocks 7 as desired in stages. If, for example, a seat part 2 having a small height is latched onto the bearing element 5 located in a bearing body 6, a greater inclination of the seat surface 32 towards the bottom is achieved than if a seat part 2 having a greater height is snapped onto the corresponding bearing element 5. A greater inclination of the seat bottom 32 forward is for example extremely advantageous for patients with hip problems. Getting up is easier here.

Thereafter, the lid 3 is aufzusasten via its bearing brackets 42 on the bearing portions 26 of the bearing element 5. For this purpose, the bearing clips 42 are to bring via their bearing openings 44 with the bearing portions 26 in connection. The bearing brackets 42 are dimensioned such that upon pivoting of the lid 3, an unwanted release of the lid 3 is prevented by the bearing element 5. They are in the mounted state of the raised toilet seat 1 between the bearing blocks 11 and the seat part bearing portion 38. Both the lid 3 and the seat part 2 are aufzurasten in a direction perpendicular to the bearing axis A direction on the bearing element 5.

Finally, the armrests 4 are to be mounted. For this purpose, the bearing pin 48 is inserted into the corresponding circular cross-section recess 49 of the bearing area 26. When inserting the bearing pin 48 in the bearing element 5 along the bearing axis A of the pivot portion 19 is pivoted with the Arretieransatz 21 to the rear. As soon as the locking groove 51 formed in the bearing pin 48 is in the region of the arresting attachment 21, it springs into the locking groove 51 and prevents the armrest 4 from being pulled out of the bearing element 5 can. A pivoting of the armrest 4 is still possible. To release the armrest 4 from the bearing element 5, a compressive force is exerted on the handle attachment 22 and the arresting attachment 21 is to be disengaged from the arresting groove 51. To release the bearing element 5 from the bearing body 6, the locking lugs 21 are to be brought out of engagement with the window openings 52.

In the assembled state, the seat part 2, the cover 3 and the armrests 4 about the horizontal bearing axis A of the bearing element 5 are pivotable. The armrests 4 are pivotally mounted in the recesses 49, while the seat part 2 is pivotally mounted on the central portion 25. The lid 3 is pivotally mounted on the bearing portions 30 of the bearing portions 26. The bearing element 5 thus serves to support the seat part 2, the lid 3 and the armrests 4. The seat part 2, the cover 3 and the armrests 4 are pivotable relative to the rotatably mounted bearing element 5.

According to a further embodiment, the bearing element is rotatably mounted in the bearing blocks of the bearing body. Otherwise, this embodiment corresponds to the previously described embodiment.

Separate Hilfsmittel bzw. Separate tools or tools for connecting the individual components of the toilet seat elevation 1 are not required. The toilet seat riser 1 is thus extremely easy to install.
