Abstract

The hearing aid to be fitted inside the ear has a housing and an antenna device having a dominant transmission direction. The antenna is arranged in the housing such that the dominant transmission direction for a state of the hearing aid attached to or fitted in a first ear of the patient is directed essentially towards the second ear of the patient. Preferably, the antenna is mounted on a mounting plate at an angle of between 10 and 40 deg. to the plate perpendicular.

Description

The present invention relates to an ITE hearing aid for binaurally supplying a patient with a housing and an antenna device having a preferred transmission direction.

In the case of ITE hearing aids, there is basically the problem that only very little installation space is available. Therefore, the components required in the ITE hearing aids are to be as small as possible or kept to a minimum.

In the case of binaural supply, there is also the requirement that the two hearing aids must be matched in their settings. If the IdO hearing aids have mechanisms to automatically adjust themselves to certain listening situations, the adjustment of the two hearing aids should be coordinated.

From the publication DE 100 48 354 A1 is a hearing aid system with two hearing aids known. The hearing aids are connected by a bidirectional wireless signal path. Also from the patent US Pat. No. 6,549,633 a binaural hearing aid system is known in which two hearing aids are connected bidirectionally and wirelessly.

Furthermore, in the document DE 102 36 940 B3 discloses a space-saving antenna arrangement for hearing aids. An antenna coil is wound on the receiver or on the microphone.

In the WO 03/032682 A is an ITE hearing aid with an integrated antenna device, which may be designed as a directional antenna disclosed. The antenna is for data transmission used to another hearing aid or for recording radio signals from the environment.

From the US 2003/152243 A1 a hearing aid with an inductive antenna known.

The EP-A-0 941 014 discloses a hearing aid system with two hearing aids, is used in the antenna coils for binaural supply.

In the DE 23 60 342 B1 a hearing aid is disclosed in which an antenna coil is arranged in a hearing glasses.

The object of the present invention is thus to propose an ITE hearing aid that is capable of communicating with another ITE hearing aid.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by an ITE hearing aid for binaurally supplying a patient with a housing and an antenna device having a preferred transmission direction, wherein the antenna device is arranged in the housing such that the preferred transmission direction in or on the first ear the patient attached or inserted state of the hearing substantially to the second ear of the patient has.

As a holding device for the antenna device, a battery spring for contacting a hearing aid battery can be used. For this purpose, a boom is attached to the battery spring, to which the antenna device can be attached. Thus, a stable attachment of the antenna device can be ensured.

Alternatively, the attachment of the antenna device can be made on the programming contacts of the hearing aid. For this purpose, a special adapter is attached to the antenna device or attachable, placed on the programming contacts. This mounting option may be advantageous in certain hearing aid designs, if installation space for the antenna device is available only in the area of the programming contacts. In addition, this attachment variant has the advantage of easy installation.

Thus, according to the invention, the antenna for communicating the two hearing aids for binaural care in a well-defined position, d. H. installed at a certain angle to the housing in the ITE hearing aid. In this way, an energy-saving transmission between the two ITE hearing aids can be realized, since the transmission directions of the antennas of the two hearing aids are matched to one another.

Preferably, the antenna device comprises an antenna coil. With this antenna coil, it is possible to build an electromagnetic transmission path between the two hearing aids in a binaural supply.

The IdO hearing aid can be a so-called CIC hearing aid that can be inserted completely into the auditory canal of the patient. This means that the antenna itself can be built into a CIC device because of its special orientation.

The ITE hearing aid typically has a mounting plate, wherein the antenna device is arranged at an angle of 10 to 40 ° to the vertical of the mounting plate. Preferably, this angle is about 20 to 30 °. This angle corresponds to the typical inclination angle of the ear canal relative to the connecting line of the two ears of a patient. The mounting plates of the hearing aids, which are inserted in the left and right ear of the patient, are usually aligned approximately parallel to each other. Therefore, if the antenna device with its preferred transmission direction has the above-mentioned angle to the mounting plate, the transmission directions are the two hearing aids in the inserted state on a straight line, wherein the transmission directions are opposite to each other. As a result, optimum transmission between the two antenna devices with minimal energy consumption is possible. It should be noted that the installation angle of the antennas in the left and right hearing aid are equal in magnitude, but have different signs.

For this purpose, a special adapter to which the antenna device is attached or fastened, placed on the programming contacts. This mounting option may be advantageous in certain hearing aid designs, if installation space for the antenna device is available only in the area of the programming contacts. In addition, this attachment variant has the advantage of easy installation.

FIG 1
FIG 2
The present invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1
a perspective view of mounted on a mounting plate electronic components of an ITE hearing aid including antenna; and
FIG. 2
a view of the electronic components of FIG. 1 from a different angle.

The embodiments described in more detail below represent preferred embodiments of the present invention.

Corresponding FIG. 1 are on or on a mounting plate M, which is tailored in the final state in the manufacture of the hearing individually to the contour of the earmold and is referred to as a face plate, fixed electronic components of the hearing aid. In particular, the battery B protrudes through the mounting plate M. It is held by a battery spring BF. Above the battery B, an electronic module E is indicated.

On the battery spring BF a boom A is attached to the distal end of a bracket K is mounted. The bracket K holds an antenna coil AS. As a spacer to the speaker, a soft rubber piece G1 is attached to the front side of the antenna coil AS, which side is in the vicinity of the bracket K.

How out FIG. 1 can also be seen, the arm A is angled approximately in the region of its center, so that the desired angular position of the antenna coil AS is achieved with respect to the mounting plate. The attachment of the arm A to the battery spring BF can also be done at any angle. Thus, it is possible to give the terminal K and therefore also the antenna coil AS any spatial angle with respect to the mounting plate M and their verticals.

In FIG. 2 are the essential components that are also in FIG. 1 are shown, reproduced from another perspective, was omitted for reasons of clarity on the presentation of the electronic module E. Specifically, the two battery springs BF can be seen here, between which the battery B is held. On the left battery spring BF, the arm A is arranged, the antenna coil AS at the desired angle α with respect to the vertical of the mounting plate M holds. The antenna device (AS) is mounted on programming contacts (P). Out FIG. 2 It can also be seen that the antenna coil AS is also tilted in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. Together with the angle α thus results in a specific spatial angle corresponding to the statistical auditory canal angle of the ear canal to the connecting line of the two ears of a patient. The preferred transmission direction of the antenna coil AS lies along its axis. Therefore, if in the hearing aid on one side of the hearing aid wearer the antenna coil AS is aligned symmetrically in the manner described and in the hearing aid on the other side of the hearing aid wearer, then the two antenna coils are essentially coaxial to each other. Accordingly, a wireless connection between both antenna coils can be constructed with minimum power.

As an alternative to the arm A on the battery spring BF may be provided for holding the antenna coil AS at the desired angle and an adapter which is plugged onto the mounting plate M of the hearing aid electronics. Of course, other components may be provided for mounting in the desired angle.

In order to build the IdO hearing aid as small as possible and to be able to install the antenna in a defined manner, the antenna should be set back in relation to the receiver or loudspeaker. The reason for this is that the hearing aids are substantially conical and therefore more space is available to the outside. This problem occurs especially in CIC devices that are fully inserted into the ear canal.

For mounting reasons, the holder of the antenna coil AS should be designed so that the antenna coil when installing not is damaged. The clamp K represents such a gentle holder.

The earmolds for ITE hearing aids are always made individually. Therefore, a correspondingly different installation space is available in each hearing aid. From several installation tests, it has therefore proven to be favorable on a statistical average, the antenna coil AS, as in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 shown to be mounted in the position next to the battery with a corresponding bracket on the battery spring BF. Thus, the typical base area of the face-plate section is not enlarged by the additional component, the antenna coil AS.
