Definitions

  • the present invention relates to door locks, and more particularly, to a door lock installed on a door, which can be quickly unlatched by users.
  • a conventional rigid door lock installed on a front door such as Yale lock, auxiliary lock, or multistage lock, takes more time to be unlatched by burglars or tampers because it is not easily damaged.
  • a common door lock usually comprises a plurality of locking structures.
  • a conventional door lock comprises two locking structures respectively mounted on the outer and inner sides of the door of a room guarded by the door.
  • the outer locking structure comprises a doorknob 100 for controlling a deadbolt, and a keyhole 101 for inserting a key 200.
  • the key 200 is rotated to lock or unlock the door lock.
  • the inner locking structure comprises a doorknob 102 and a rotary knob 103 for a user to rotate to control the latched or unlatched state of the door lock.
  • the key 200 or the rotary knob 103 can be operated to shift a deadbolt and a latch in the door lock to a latched or unlatched position.
  • a safety bolt can also be employed in the door lock to restrain the deadbolt, so as to keep the door lock in a latched state.
  • the user can unlatch the door lock by using the key 200 and pressing the doorknob 100 to enter the room. Then, the user can rotate the rotary knob 103 to the latched position to lock the door. Conversely, if the user intends to leave the room, he or she can rotate the rotary knob 103 to the unlatched position and press the doorknob 102 to open the door to exit the room.
  • the conventional door lock has to be unlatched through multiple steps and thus may not provide sufficient time for the user to escape in the event of fire or earthquake, for example.
  • the door lock is damaged due to some of the components of the door lock melting during a fire, the door may completely fail to open, trapping the user in serious danger.
  • a conventional door lock tends to be easily damaged due to its single stage of locking, such that even the basic locking of the door lock is not secure.

  • the blocker 21 when the rotary knob 2 is rotated one more cycle in the counterclockwise direction, the blocker 21 further pushes the fixed member 55 towards the auxiliary member 91, and the fixed member 55 further pushes the multi-segmental plate 51 away from the driving rod 915, making the latch 53 further move outwards from the housing 1. Consequently, as shown in FIG 5, the latch 53 completely protrudes out of the housing 1.
  • the blocker 559 is moved from the blocked position between the two dentate portions 511 of the multi-segmental plate 51 to another blocked position in one dentate portion 511 located distantly from the latch 53, so as to block and fix the multi-segmental plate 51 in position.
  • the returning block 95 and the returning plate 59 are still placed in the same locked position. Thus, the second stage of locking is achieved.
  • the blocker 21 of the rotary knob 2 pushes the arced end of the driving member 35. Since the arced end of the driving member 35 is rotatably pivoted on the multi-segmental plate 51, a fixed point 351 of the driving member 35 serves as a pivot, making the arc end of the driving member 35 move towards the latch 53, and making the hooked end of the deadbolt rod 33 move away from the deadbolt 31. As a result, the deadbolt rod 33 is pushed by the driving member 35 to actuate the deadbolt 31 to retract into the housing 1. The retracting deadbolt 31 in the housing 1 pushes the safety latch board 71 and thus actuates the safety bolt 73 connected to the safety latch board 71 to simultaneously enter into the housing 1.
  • the downwardly protruded bolt (not shown) of the multi-segmental plate 51 can actuate the returning plate 59, so as to push the returning block 95 away from the doorknob-rotating blocks 93, thereby making the returning block 95 and the returning plate 59 located in the unlocked position.
  • multi-stage locking and unlocking of the door lock can be achieved simply by rotation of the rotary knob 2.
  • the rotation of the rotary knob 2 forces the latch 53, the deadbolt 31 and the safety bolt 73 to retract into the housing 1, such that the door lock is unlatched and the door is opened.
  • the user can simply press the doorknob to simultaneously actuate the latch 53, the deadbolt 31, and the safety bolt 73.
  • the auxiliary member 91 and the returning block 95 are pushed.
  • the extended end 911 of the pushed auxiliary member 91 further pushes the deadbolt rod 33 and the driving rod 915, making the deadbolt 31 driven by the deadbolt rod 33 to retract into the housing 1.
  • the retracting deadbolt 31 in the housing 1 further pushes the safety latch board 71 and forces the safety bolt 73 connected to the safety latch board 71 to simultaneously retract into the housing 1.
  • the pushed driving rod 915 further pushes the rotor 57.
  • the rotor 57 pushes the fixed member 55 simultaneously towards the driving rod 915.
  • the dentate portion 511 of the multi-segmental plate 51 is released from the blocker 559.
  • the deadbolt 31 that completely retracts into the housing 1 forces the blade 37 to move towards the fixed member 55, so as to move the multi-segmental plate 51 towards the driving rod 915.
  • the returning block 95 is pushed towards the returning plate 59 and further moves the returning plate 59 to the unlocked position.
  • the latch 53, the deadbolt 31 and the safety bolt 73 are retracted into the housing 1, and the door lock can be unlatched and the door can be opened.
  • the door lock proposed in the present invention allows the user to simply press the doorknob to unlatch the door lock and open the door simultaneously.
  • the present invention provides a door lock that can be operated by a single pressing action to quickly unlatch the door lock and open the door.
