Abstract

The ink or water roller, at a printing press, has at least one plastics and carbon fiber load-bearing layer (07) at the outer body (02). The ratio between the working length (L) on the roller mantle surface and a diameter (D) is 10-14. A single actuator (16) switches the roller on and off and/or adjusts it in relation to neighboring assemblies. The roller has a hollow plastics and carbon fiber shaft (09), with metal journals (04) at the ends. The outer body has a hollow base body (13) which supports a shell (06) over the working length.
