- a fuel supply line system 10 designed according to the invention achieves a significantly more uniform introduction of fuel with a structure that is very simple to implement.
- a more uniform introduction of fuel also has the consequence that the volume of the respective porous evaporator medium present in the various chambers can be used in an improved manner for distributing the fuel, thus making better use of the surface over which evaporation then takes place into the respective chamber.
- This in turn requires a much more uniform distribution of the air / fuel vapor mixture, in particular in the combustion chamber 22 and thus a more uniform temperature distribution in the equally uniformed combustion in the combustion chamber 22. In this way, the pollutant emissions in almost all operating conditions can be reduced and it the risk of the occurrence of combustion resonances in the starting phase can be reduced.

Description
The present invention relates to a heater, in particular vehicle heater, according to the preamble of claim 1.
In the case of the additional fuel-operated heaters used primarily in vehicles as auxiliary heaters or auxiliary heaters, especially heaters, which are equipped with a burner chamber of the evaporator burner type, liquid fuel is generally first introduced into an evaporator medium and promoted or distributed in this evaporator medium by utilizing the capillary effect , The evaporator medium is constructed of porous or braided material and distributes and promotes the fuel toward a combustion chamber, so that it can evaporate at the combustion chamber facing side of the evaporator medium and burn together with the present in the combustion chamber combustion air. The quality of the combustion taking place in such a heater depends essentially on the most uniform possible distribution of the combustion over the volume of the combustion chamber and thus a correspondingly uniform possible fuel distribution or distribution of the air / fuel vapor mixture in the combustion chamber. In order to promote a uniform distribution of this mixture or of the fuel delivery into the combustion chamber, it is known, for example, to provide a channel arrangement on an inner surface of a wall delimiting the combustion chamber, through which the liquid fuel introduced via a fuel supply line is first coarsely pre-distributed he enters the evaporator medium and is further dispersed there. Furthermore, it is known to provide such formations in the evaporator medium itself, which ensures a fuel gross distribution preceding or superimposed on the capillary conveying action. The use of deflection for fuel distribution is known. All these Measures sometimes require difficult to perform manufacturing operations and yet can not ensure that the intended by providing these measures fuel distribution is obtained in the desired manner. In particular, the installation of such a heater in different vehicles in different mounting positions can often lead despite the provision of these measures to a comparatively uniform fuel introduction is not obtained. As a result of the systems described above, by means of which fuel pre-distribution takes place, fuel may already partly evaporate in this system. This can lead to the deposition of heavy boiling fuel components over the service life, so that in extreme cases, individual channels or channel areas of such a distribution system are clogged and thus rendered ineffective.

It is the object of the present invention to provide a heater, in particular vehicle heater, according to claim 1. This includes a fuel supply line system with which, with a simple structure, an improved distribution of fuel introduction into a combustion chamber assembly can be achieved.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a heater, in particular vehicle heater, according to claim 1. This comprises a Brennstoffzuführleitungssystem for supplying liquid fuel to a combustion chamber assembly, comprising a fuel line assembly, at least in their adjoining the combustion chamber assembly a plurality of in different areas of the combustion chamber assembly includes opening fuel lines.
The present invention thus provides that the fuel is not introduced into the combustion chamber assembly at a locally very limited area, but that by providing multiple fuel lines directly and without special measures in the combustion chamber assembly of the fuel distributed at several positions in the combustion chamber assembly can be initiated. This simplifies the structure, in particular of the combustion chamber assembly and allows in a simple manner, the adaptation to different installation situations. It can thus be achieved with the inventive design of a Brennstoffzuführleitungssystems a much less dependent on the mounting position and more uniform fuel distribution or targeted fuel supply with a correspondingly improved quality of running in the combustion chamber assembly combustion.
According to the invention, the combustion chamber assembly comprises a combustion chamber forming, substantially pot-like combustion chamber housing with an outer peripheral wall, wherein at least two of the fuel lines in Introduce fuel in the direction of combustion chamber in different peripheral areas.
To even out the fuel distribution, a liquid fuel from the fuel lines receiving evaporator medium is provided on an inner side of the outer peripheral wall.
At least one of the fuel lines opens into an auxiliary chamber receiving an ignition element. In the auxiliary chamber, fuel is provided by the evaporator medium receiving at least one fuel line opening into the latter.
Since, when providing such a secondary chamber, the very high temperatures generated therein or the combustion starting therein are to be used in order to initiate ignition in the combustion chamber itself, the auxiliary chamber communicates with the combustion chamber.
In order to ensure that even if the ignition has already taken place and the ignition device provided in the secondary chamber is no longer energized, the fuel which may be further fed into the secondary chamber can be used for combustion in the combustion chamber itself, the evaporator medium of the secondary chamber is included the evaporator medium of the combustion chamber in fluid communication connection.
According to a further aspect of the present invention, it may be provided that the fuel lines are connected in their end region remote from the combustion chamber assembly to a fuel supply line, which fuel supply line is connected to a fuel metering pump.
In order to obtain a further homogenization of the fuel supply and thereby continue regardless of the delivery characteristics of a metering pump or the like. To be able to be provided that at least a portion of the fuel lines for fuel delivery formed under capillary action is. In this way it is ensured that a defined Brennstoffeinleitverhalten is obtained solely by the Kapillarförderwirkung the fuel lines.

In the figures, a fuel supply piping system is generally indicated at 10. It should be noted that previously the basic structure of a
The
The
According to a further aspect of the present invention, the
According to a further aspect of the invention, it is possible to guide the
In order to ensure that even after ignition and when the
The use of a fuel
As a result of the more uniform distribution of fuel that can be achieved with the system according to the invention, it is possible to ensure a faster start-up of the heater to its rated power with a shortened preheating time or preheating time. Experiments have shown that the time required for this can usually be reduced from previously 300 sec. To 400 sec. To 60 sec. To 80 sec., Ie about 1: 5 of the previously required time. Furthermore, the continuous, continuous startup of the heater or the heating power of the same is facilitated and also the stepless adjustment of the heating power is favored. It has also been found that when using such a line system, the power control range of a heater equipped therewith can be significantly expanded. While previously a control range of about 1.5 kW to about 10 kW, that is about 1: 6 was achievable, is now a range of about 1 kW to 15kW, ie about 1:15, attainable. Furthermore, by providing a line system according to the invention, the spectrum of achievable or possible mounting positions of a heater significantly expanded, so that the functionality in the operating positions horizontally, vertically (90 °) and upright (90 °) is ensured without any fuel supply related problems in the Distribution of the fuel can be generated.
