- the present invention is intended in particular to achieve these objectives.
- protective equipment which, in addition to the features already mentioned, is characterized in that the first and second lock members are adapted to engage and lock one with the another during a movement of approach of the screen towards the mask comprising a component directed from top to bottom, with reference to the top and the bottom of the face.
- the user who already wears the mask (for example at very high altitude) and who must put the screen (for example to protect themselves from smoke and / or toxic or irritating gases in contact with the eyes) , can with a simple and natural gesture bring the screen in front of his eyes and press it down on the mask to subjugate it.
- the fact that the fixing of the screen on the mask is done in a simple and natural way is particularly important in emergency situations such as those that usually require the port of the screen.
- the invention relates to a respiratory mask for protective equipment as indicated above; this may comprise in particular a guide ramp and / or straps provided with guide collars, at the places of insertion of the tabs under these straps.
- the invention relates to a protective screen for protective equipment as indicated above; this one can have guide lugs adapted to respectively insert each under a strap of a harness when placing the screen on the mask.
- the invention relates to a support for the screen of the equipment such as that mentioned above, comprising means for hooking the screen on this support, which itself comprises a lock element substantially identical to the first latch element, this latch element being adapted to cooperate with the second latch element and fix the screen to the support, when the screen is not subject to the mask.
- this support has hooking means of the mask independent of the hooking means of the screen and adapted to be able to unhook the mask of the support without necessarily detaching the screen.
- a first embodiment of the protective equipment according to the invention is described in relation to the Figures 1 to 6 .
- this protective equipment 1 comprises a mask 2, a harness 4 and a screen 6.
- the mask 2 and the harness 4 are of a known type. For example, they are of the type already described in the documents EP-A-0288391 or US 5,630,412 .
- the mask 2 comprises an oronasal face cover 8, an on-demand regulator 10, a connection block 12 and a shell 14.
- the demand regulator 10 is connected to a source of pressurized respiratory gas by a flexible tube 16

- the oronasal face cover 8 is adapted to be applied to the lower face of a user.
- the oronasal face cover 8 has a cavity covering the nose and mouth of this user. This cavity is lined with a flexible membrane also extending all around thereof, to form a seal 18 intended to be applied in contact with the face of the user.
- the shell 14 has an edge surface 20 located substantially in coincidence with that of the nose of the user, when the latter is wearing the mask 2.
- the shell 14 also has 2 guide surfaces 22 which extend, from the edge surface 20, downwards, diverging with respect to a plane P median is the plane of symmetry of the user's head.
- the nasal-nasal cover 8 has a substantially conical cavity 24 and a valve 26.
- the valve 26 is located upwardly from the ridge surface 20.
- the cavity 24 is located between the valve 26 and the bottom of the edge surface 20, near the connection block 12.
- the cavity 24 has a substantially conical shape which narrows from the ridge surface 20 towards the inside of the oro-nasal face cover 8.
- the conical surface continues with a cylindrical internal surface 28 which opens itself onto a flared opening 30 whose inner surface forms a first ramp 32.
- This first ramp 32 is circular and continuous around a direction Z-.
- the direction Z- extends in the plane P and its projection on a vertical axis Z has a non-zero component downwards.
- the ramp 32 forms a first latch element intended to cooperate with a second latch element located on the screen 6.
- the harness 4 comprises two straps 34 each consisting of a tube of elastic material surrounded by an inextensible sheath.
- the two straps 34 have, when the tube is inflated, a length that can pass around heads of all sizes. They are connected to the connection block 12. After setting up the 2 mask and the harness 4 on the head of a user, the tubes of the straps 34 are deflated so that the elasticity of the tubes tightens the harness 4 on the head of this user.

- the frame 38 is provided with a seal 40 adapted to apply a relatively large surface in contact with the face of the user.
- the screen 6 and the mask 2 are advantageously provided so as to organize a flow of breathing gas in the screen 6 when the latter is in place on the face of the user.
- the valve 26, closed when the screen 6 is not in place opens to admit respiratory gas from inside the mask 2 towards the inside of the screen 6.
- the breathing gas can escape by leakage between the seal 40 and the skin. Slots may also be provided in the upper part of the seal 40 so as to guide the breathing gas sweeping the volume between the face and the screen 6.
- the opening of the valve 26 during the placement of the screen 6 on the mask 2 is achieved by the insertion of a tongue 42 (see figures 1 and 4 ) under a rim 44 overhanging the valve 26 (see figures 1 and 2 ).
- a tongue 42 When the tongue 42 is inserted under the flange 44, it presses a piston 46, thus opening a breathing gas intake channel placing the connection block 12 in communication with the volume located between the screen 6 and the user's face.
- a not shown spring pushes the piston 46 to a seat also not shown, in order to close the channel intake.
- the inlet channel opens at the piston 46 so that the breathing gas escapes, in the screen 6, directly through the valve 26.
- Other means for managing the admission of the breathing gas in the screen 6 are also possible.
- the screen 6 comprises a gripping block 50 designed to allow a quick and easy installation of the screen 6 on the shell 14 of the mask 2.
- the locking means of the screen 6 on the mask 2 can have very different constitutions and the embodiment given below is just one example.
- the gripping-grip block 50 belonging to the screen 6 has a shape substantially inverted V when considered in section in a plane perpendicular to the plane P of symmetry of the face, when the screen 6 and the mask 2 are in place on the user's head.
- This V shape comprises two wings 52 substantially symmetrical with respect to the median P plane of symmetry of the face, when the equipment 1 is worn by the user. These wings 52 meet at a central zone 54 from which extends a pin 56.
- the pin 56 constitutes the second latch member which cooperates with the ramp 32 to secure the screen 6 to the mask 2.
- the wings 52 extend between an upper end 58 near the stud 56 and a lower end 60 remote from the stud 56. These wings 52 deviate from the plane P of symmetry of the face towards their lower end 60. These wings 52 allow a guide, by the guide surfaces 22 of the mask 2, facilitating the positioning of the screen 6 on the mask 2.
- the nipple 56 is consists of an inner rod 62 and an outer rod 64.
- the inner rod 62 is for example of metal and the outer rod 64 is for example plastic.
- the outer rod 64 forms a sleeve around the inner rod 62.
- This sleeve has on substantially half of its length of the cutouts so that the half of the outer rod 64 located on the side of its free end forms elastic tongues 69 .
- the internal 62 and outer 64 rods extend between a free end having a bulge 66, 68 and a pressure surface 70, 72 through which is transmitted to the pin 56, a force F to move the pin 56 longitudinally substantially in the first direction Z-, between a locking position (right side of the figure 3 ) and an unlock position (left side of the figure 3 ), within the gripping block 50.
- First 74 and second 76 springs are interposed respectively on the one hand between the inner rod 62 and the outer rod 64 and on the other hand between the outer rod 64 and the gripping block-grip 50. These springs 74,76 recall the pin 56 to the inside of the gripping block 50.
- the fixation-gripping block 50 presents, symmetrically with respect to the median plane of symmetry of the face, gripping surfaces 82 which extend upwards on either side of a push-button 84 secured to the surface of the pressure 70 of the inner rod 62 (see figures 1 , 2 and 4 ).
- the user enters the screen 6 by the gripping block 50, then, in the embodiment described, presses the push button 84, using one or two fingers, while grasping between the thumb and one or more other fingers the bearing surfaces 82.
- the press button 84 the user releases the pin 56 of the gripping-grip block 50 More specifically, the inner rod 62 is moved longitudinally parallel to the Z- direction until disengaging the bulge 66 from the outer rod 64.
- the wings 52 are guided by the Guiding surfaces 22.
- the more precise positioning of the screen 6 on the mask 2 is guided by the entry of the pin 56 into the cavity 24.
- the tongues 69 of this external rod 64 can be e is deformed radially towards the inner rod 62 until the bulge 68 of the outer rod 64 is at the flared opening 30.
- the tongues 69 of the outer rod 64 can then move radially outwardly. .
- Calibration of the first 74 and second 76 springs is determined so that the bulge 66 of the inner rod returns to the outer rod 64 before the bulge 68 of the outer rod 64 returns to the level of the flared opening 30 when the user releases the press button 84, the bulge 68 of the rod 64 is then blocked in the flared opening 30.
- the tabs 69 of the outer rod 64 are retained radially towards outside. The action of the first 74 and second 76 springs helps keep the screen 6 pressed against the mask 2.
- the user grasps the screen 6 at the bearing surfaces 82 and applies a pressure on the push button 84.
- the bulges 66, 68 are then released from the flared opening 30.
- the user releases the pin 56 from the cavity 24. More specifically, the tongues 69 of the outer rod of 64 deform radially towards the inside when the bulge 68 passes through the flared opening 30 and the cylindrical inner surface 28, which is made possible by the fact that the bulge 66 of the inner rod 62 is no longer inside the outer rod 64.
- the mask 2 and the screen 6 of the equipment 1 according to the invention can be stored independently of one another.
- the mask 2 can be arranged when it is not used on a support or in a conventional box.
- the screen 6, when not in use, can be stored in a screen box 90 or simply hooked.
- the figure 5 represents an embodiment of such a screen box 90.
- This is, for example a rubber box with a front face 92 having a cutout 94 which allows to introduce the screen 6 in the box 90 or extract it.
- the fixing-gripping block 50 is at least partly projecting at the cutout 94, in order to facilitate the gripping of the screen 6 and its extraction from the box 90.
- box 90 is fixed by its rear face 91, for example to an aircraft interior wall.
- the screen 6 is arranged, when not in use, on a display stand 100.
- a display stand 100 an example of such a display 100 is shown on the figure 6 .
- This display unit 100 comprises a screen holder 102 having a shape substantially similar to that of the shell 14.
- This screen holder 102 has a cavity 106 identical to the cavity 24 of the mask 2.
- the user removes the screen 6 of the mask 2 to put it on the display 100, it acquires by this gesture the memory of the place where the screen 6 has been stored and the gesture it will have to make to position the screen 6 on the mask 2. In case emergency, it will resume the screen 6 to position it on the mask 2 with a gesture he knows.
- the display 100 includes a mask holder 108.
- the screen 6 and the mask 2 are stored independently of one another. If the user takes the mask 2 on the mask holder 108 to put it, it stores at the same time the location where the screen 6 is located. Thus in case of emergency, the user can find the screen 6 to a place he already knows.
- the equipment according to the invention can be the subject of numerous variants.
- the equipment according to the invention comprises a locking device adapted for a user to press the screen 6 on the mask 2 so that they lock themselves one on the other, and that to exert traction at the gripping elements to unlock the locking device and remove the screen 6 of the mask 2, in gestures corresponding substantially to those of the installation and the removal of glasses on a nose.

The present invention is intended in particular to achieve these objectives.
For this purpose, according to the invention, protective equipment is provided which, in addition to the features already mentioned, is characterized in that the first and second lock members are adapted to engage and lock one with the another during a movement of approach of the screen towards the mask comprising a component directed from top to bottom, with reference to the top and the bottom of the face.
Thanks to these provisions, the user, who already wears the mask (for example at very high altitude) and who must put the screen (for example to protect themselves from smoke and / or toxic or irritating gases in contact with the eyes) , can with a simple and natural gesture bring the screen in front of his eyes and press it down on the mask to subjugate it. The fact that the fixing of the screen on the mask is done in a simple and natural way is particularly important in emergency situations such as those that usually require the port of the screen.
- le deuxième élément comporte un téton s'étendant, à partir de l'écran, selon une première direction comportant une composante oblique dirigée de haut en bas, en référence avec le haut et le bas du visage ;
- le masque comporte une cavité sensiblement conique se rétrécissant en direction du premier élément, pour guider le deuxième élément vers le premier élément, dans le mouvement d'approche de l'écran vers le masque ;
- le téton est adapté pour se déplacer longitudinalement sensiblement dans la première direction, entre une position de verrouillage et une position de déverrouillage, au sein d'un bloc de préhension comportant des surfaces de préhension pour des doigts de l'utilisateur ;

- il comporte un harnais muni de sangles adaptées pour maintenir le masque en position d'utilisation, sur la tête de l'utilisateur et dans lequel l'écran comporte deux pattes de guidage adaptées pour s'insérer respectivement chacune sous une sangle du harnais lors de la mise en place de l'écran sur le masque ; ainsi l'écran peut être appliqué sur le visage de l'utilisateur, grâce aux sangles, mais sans manipulation de la part de l'utilisateur autre que celle d'approche et de verrouillage de l'écran sur le masque ; cette disposition permet d'avoir une meilleure étanchéité entre l'écran et le visage sans pour autant demander du temps de mise en place de l'écran supplémentaire ;
- the second element comprises a nipple extending from the screen in a first direction having an oblique component directed from top to bottom, with reference to the top and bottom of the face;
- the mask has a substantially conical cavity tapering towards the first element, to guide the second element towards the first element, in the movement of approach of the screen towards the mask;
- the stud is adapted to move longitudinally substantially in the first direction, between a locking position and an unlocking position, within a gripping block having gripping surfaces for the fingers of the user;
- the stud is adapted to move longitudinally substantially in the first direction, between a locking position and an unlocking position, within a gripping block having gripping surfaces for the fingers of the user;
- it is provided with a push button placed substantially between the gripping surfaces, and manually operable to move the pin from its locking position to its unlocked position;
- the push button has, in a direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction, an ergonomic surface for pressing the push button, this surface having a dimension greater than 15 mm; on the other hand, the height of the push button in the first direction is adapted to limit the size of the protective equipment according to the invention and facilitate its insertion into a storage box.
- the mask has guiding surfaces diverging from an edge substantially coinciding with that of the nose of the user, and the nipple is flanked by two substantially symmetrical wings relative to the median plane of symmetry of the face, when the equipment is worn by the user, these wings extending between an upper end close to the nipple and a low end remote from the nipple and away from this plane towards their lower end, to allow guiding, by the guide surfaces, the positioning of the screen on the mask;
- it comprises a locking indicator adapted to block, in an active position, any movement of the first element relative to the second element and which can be in the active position only when the mask and the screen are subjected to one another by locking by complementary shapes of the first and second latch elements together;
- the first and second lock elements are adapted to allow movement of the screen relative to the mask, and to promote the application of the screen on the face of the user; thanks to this arrangement, the equipment according to the invention adapts more easily to the different face morphologies of the users by allowing the screen to tilt back and forth, to get closer to the user's forehead and to apply the screen around his eyes;
- the first and second lock members are movable relative to one another, about a horizontal axis, with two links;
- the mask comprises a locking ramp adapted to guide the screen to a locking position of the screen on the mask, when approaching the screen towards the mask;

The

The

In this embodiment, the gripping-
This V shape comprises two

The
Ces ressorts 74,76 rappellent le téton 56 vers l'intérieur du bloc de fixation-préhension 50.First 74 and second 76 springs are interposed respectively on the one hand between the
In the relaxed position (substantially corresponding to the locked position), but when the
To set up the
L'action des premier 74 et deuxième 76 ressorts contribue à maintenir l'écran 6 plaqué contre le masque 2.Calibration of the first 74 and second 76 springs is determined so that the
Advantageously, for similar reasons, the
The equipment according to the invention can be the subject of numerous variants.
For example, according to one of these variants, the equipment according to the invention comprises a locking device adapted for a user to press the

Each
