Abstract

The conductor has a solder deposit (3) and an end contact. The solder deposit is attached before the conductor is soldered to a complementary contact. The solder deposit is formed from a sleeve of solderable material, which clinches the end contact. The sleeve preferably has a longitudinal slot and crimps the end contact. An independent claim is included for a method of manufacturing an electrical conductor.

Description

Electrical conductor with a solder deposit at a contact portion, in particular end portion, wherein the solder deposit is already attached to this portion, before the conductor is soldered to a mating contact.

Such an electrical conductor is z. B. in the DE 100 46 489 C1 described. At the end of a metal band extending between an upper and a lower insulating layer is a metallic crimping piece, the teeth of which puncture the layers on both sides of the band and directed inwardly against the underside of the metal band exposed in a window in the lower layer are. After the teeth have been turned over, a solder deposit is soldered onto the toothed side of the crimping piece, so that the solder wets not only the teeth but also the exposed side of the metal band.

For soldering the conductor, this is placed with the solder deposit on a counter contact, wherein the Krimpstück is heated on the side facing away from the teeth by means of a soldering iron, resulting in melting of the solder. The solder, which has solidified again after cooling, mechanically connects the printed conductor to the mating contact, at the same time producing an electrically conductive contact.

So that the solder deposit, before the conductor is soldered to the contact point, is already connected to the electrical conductor, thus two steps are carried out: First, the Krimpstück acting as a holding element must be connected to the conductor and then the solder deposit to be melted, which is quite cumbersome ,

EP 1 246 300 discloses an electrical conductor according to Oberbergriff of claim 1.

The invention is thus based on the object to provide an electrical conductor according to the preamble of claim 1, which is much easier to produce.

To solve the problem, the invention provides that the sleeve has a longitudinal slot and clasps the contact portion in the manner of a Krimpstückes.

This embodiment has the advantage that it is possible to dispense with a separate holding element in the form of a crimping piece. Furthermore, the solder deposit is held on the conductor only by mechanical means. A separate heating process, with which the solder deposit is soldered to the conductor, is therefore no longer necessary.

The sleeve can z. B. are pushed onto the end of an electrical conductor and squeezed there. It is easiest, however, if the sleeve has a longitudinal slot and clasps the contact portion in the manner of a Krimpstückes. In contrast to the prior art, the Krimpstück forms the solder depot itself and not just a holding element for the solder deposit.

  • Bereitstellung eines Lötdrahtes mit einer Seele aus einem Flussmittel;
  • Abflachung des Lötdrahtes;
  • Abtrennung eines Teilstückes vom Lötdraht;
  • Verkrimpen des Teilstückes mit dem Kontaktabschnitt.
For soldering, a flux is needed, which is often provided in the form of a soul in a solder wire. The present invention provides that a flux is present in the interior of the sleeve sheath. The production of the electrical conductor with a solder deposit attached thereto is carried out with the following steps:
  • Providing a solder wire with a flux flux;
  • Flattening of the solder wire;
  • Separation of a section from the solder wire;
  • Crimping of the section with the contact section.

In the last process step, the section is aligned so that the core runs parallel or transversely to the conductor.

In the first case, there is a flux exit at the end of the contact section; in the second case it is ensured that the flux completely surrounds the wire.

In the following, the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to an embodiment.

For this purpose, the single figure shows an electrical conductor consisting of a copper wire 1, which is provided with an insulation 2. The end of the copper wire 1 is stripped. There, a solder deposit 3 is fixed in the form of a Krimpstückes 4. Such Krimpstück 4 consists of a commercially available, typically made of tin solder wire, the soul 5 consists of a flux. This solder wire, which usually has a round cross-section, is first flattened. Then are separated from it platelets. These are clamped around the stripped end of the copper wire 1. This is done in a similar manner as a crimping piece 4 is attached to a conductor: the wafer encloses the conductor almost completely, wherein the abutting sides of the wafer are pressed slightly inwardly against the copper wire 1. The plate is thereby aligned so that the original core 5 of the solder wire runs parallel (as shown in the figure) or transversely to the copper wire 1.

To contact a mating contact of the electrical conductor is held with the provided with the solder deposit 3 end to the contact point. A soldering iron is directly connected to the solderable material, eg. B. tin or a tin alloy, existing solder deposit set so that it melts and connects in the usual way after cooling the copper wire 1 with the mating contact.

The invention also has the advantage that the size of the solder deposit can be adapted relatively easily to the respective application. This requires either a thicker solder wire used or a longer plate to be cut off.
