Abstract

The invention relates to an elastic exercise apparatus, wherein at least one elastic element is fixed or can be fixed between two handles. It is essential that clamp holding devices ( 3, 10, 40, 50 ) be used as handles, in which the at least one elastic element ( 2, 48 ) can be clamped and fixed or be fixed at a given length. Said clamp holding devices should preferably have loop, ring or bow-shaped holding elements ( 6, 7, 56 ). This makes it possible for a person working out to optimally use particularly stretch bands ( 2 ) with en even tension in a cramp-free manner and in the required length.

Description

The invention relates to an elastic exercise device according to the preamble of claim 1, as it finds particular use for sporting or sports medicine purposes.

It is known to attach rubber cords between two fixed handles of an exercise device (extensor) and to pull axially on the cords when practicing over the handles. By hanging a corresponding number of cords on the insides of the handles, although the tensile force can be changed, but not the length of the cords and thus the entire exercise equipment. However, this would be necessary depending on the exercise or practicing person.

From US-PS 1,729,399 and US 2002/0052270 A1 elastic exercise devices are known in which in each case an elastic element between two handles can be fastened. In each case a conical clamping opening is provided in the handles, through which the elastic element is passed and clamped by a wedge in conjunction with a wedge-shaped thickening of the tape ends or a ball, in some cases difficult to detach again. A secure, quick releasable clamping / attaching the handles on an elastic exercise band with uniform tape thickness is not possible.

For flat, elastic exercise bands, which are increasingly used for training or exercise purposes, it is not common to use handles between which, for example, under 0.15 mm thick and up to over 200 mm wide straps could be attached. If such a band is grasped by a practicing person, for example, to perform an extension at chest level, then the practicing person must cling properly in the band material so as not to slip when stretching the band. In addition, it is virtually impossible to stretch the tape without distortion free-hand, so that a pattern present on the tape surface (see DE 20013 074 U1 or EP 1 175 922 A2) can be uniformly stretched over the entire bandwidth and observed visually fully concentrated.

So the physioband of the company Tilia GmbH, 87484 Nesselwang is known from the exercise poster can be seen that holding the tape in flat open distortion-free position is not readily possible. The practicing person is therefore more focused on the self-clawing in the band than on the exercise performed with it. It is further to be deduced from this exercise brochure or poster that the loose physioband can be held together to form an endless loop by means of a clip, which is also enclosed in the packaging, in order, e.g. be able to perform appropriate arm or leg exercises in the suspended state of the loop-shaped clipped band.

Such clips, as used for looping exercise tapes, are already known in various embodiments, but are always used to seal bags, bags, sacks, etc., as shown, for example, in US Pat. Nos. 2,818,871, 3,571,861, DE 25 47 875 A1, US Pat. No. 4,296,529, US Pat. No. 4,523,353 US Pat. No. 5,379,489, EP 0 156 779 B1 and WO 93116930 A1. There are thus one-piece closure devices such as clips or clips for bags or tubes are known, which consist of two connected to a film hinge arms which have interlocking at the closed surfaces in the facing surfaces clamping profiles and a detent on the free arm ends in the closed Condition can be fixed. When opened, the arms are at an angle of max. 90 ° to each other. The end of the bag to be closed or the two ends of an exercise band to be joined are laid one on top of the other, usually lower arm, after which the second, usually upper arm is pivoted onto the lower arm and pressed so that their intermeshing longitudinal profiles the intervening bag - or clamp band material. About a detent on the arm ends of the clip is held together in the closed state. This clip is thus only used for closing or coupling, but not as a handle over which a move is made.

Also known from US Pat. Nos. 3,036,506 is a closure clip for the insulation bag of an underwater camera, having a channel-shaped lower arm and a flat-rod-shaped upper arm, wherein the arms are articulated via an axial pin passing transversely through the two intermeshing parts. About a at the opposite end of the lower arm pivotally mounted eyelet of the upper arm is held by a notch provided on this in the closed clamping state and thus also the bag. It is not known to use these clips as handles.
Thus, it is an object of the invention to provide an elastic exercise device that enables safe, comfortable, versatile and concentrated handling and practicing.

This object is achieved by an elastic exercise device having the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

Accordingly, the elastic exercise device as handles on each two clip handles, which are constructed in the manner of known bag closure clips, in which at least one elastic exercise band fixedly or releasably clamped fixed to a predetermined length. In addition, at least one geometric figure on the band are provided in the stretching direction of the exercise band that form or result in another predetermined geometric figure when stretched with a predetermined force. There are thus in the course of a z. B. exercise tape (or a rubber rope or rubber hose) two clip handles at the required distance from z. B. 40 cm length perpendicular to each other, that is secured transversely to the longitudinal or pulling direction of the band. This allows the practicing person to grip the band on the two clip handles and perform the appropriate stretching exercises safely. It is pulled on these clips that they are moved apart in parallel, whereby the clamped band part evenly stretched in length and the geometric figures on it are not distorted and are always clearly visible during practice.

It is advantageous if in each case one in the tape-pulling direction pointing gripping or holding element is provided on the clip handles. Two handles are then attached to a band such that the respective holding members face outwardly, thereby facilitating gripping and, in particular, holding the band under tension.

In this case, according to the invention as a holding element, a rigid bracket, a flexible strap or loop such as rope or cord, a central T-handle or ring o.ä. be provided. Important - and only possible according to the invention - is that during stretching and in particular when stretched holding the tape on the holding elements on the handles, the tape in the exercises at breast height in full width remains distortion-free visible, so that the exercising Dehn changes a DE 200 13 074 U1 on the strip surface located geometric pattern is possible.
If z. B. a rope-holding element is provided, which is attached in an advantageous manner via one eyelet at the two ends of a handle side, then the practicing person can hang in the respective formed strap the thumb of a hand and at chest height with approximately outstretched arms the handles Press apart, causing the intermediate band is stretched accordingly. By grasping and pulling on the tape, which is held without slipping in full width, only by the thumb, a free oscillation of the tape and the holder takes place around the two thumb pivots. As a result, an extension can be practiced, in which a largely distortion-free, ie vector-free longitudinal expansion of the band can be achieved. Of course, this effect is achieved even when using retaining rings.

According to the invention on the strap - but also on a stiff headband - a ball or a tube made of rigid or flexible material such. B. made of wood or plastic, slidably mounted on the central bore be. Now, if the grip on the ball or the tube taken and extended, then also a distortion-free settling of the handles take place.

Also can be integrated centrally on the rope or on the cord of the retaining loop a thumb-gripping ring, the z. B. may also be made of wood or plastic. Because the thumb grips are substantially thicker than the rope or cord and have a solid, rounded gripping inner surface, settling on the thumb can also be easier and more comfortable over the ring than over the thumb directly hooked into the rope loop. It is readily apparent that with relatively thin design of the loop rope under load on the thumb a relatively unpleasant squeezing and cutting takes place, which is not the case with relatively thick thumb rings whose thickness may correspond to the height of the closed clamp.

According to the invention are on the exercise band as geometric figures z. As ellipses, rectangles or diamonds are provided, which when stretched with a force of z. B. 1.5 kg or 2 kg circles or squares form or yield. In this case, in or next to at least one of the geometric figures, a corresponding Dehnkraftangabe such as 1.5 kg or 2 kg be applied in such a way that when training under strain z. B. a circle from an ellipse, the corresponding indication of z. B. 1.5 kg is very easy to read.

It is advantageous if a transverse diamond pattern, a rectangular pattern or an ellipse pattern is provided on the exercise band, which consists of at least one pointing along its short axis in the direction of stretching rhombus, rectangles or ellipse in a predetermined Dehnsituation each to a transverse square, normal square or circle deformed. In this case, only one geometric figure can be arranged on the band in the middle, or two or more identical figures can be applied symmetrically to the band center or along the entire band at a uniform spacing from each other.

But it may also be particularly advantageous to provide at least two identical geometric figures of different dimensions adjacent to each other, which are associated with different force specifications and which form upon reaching the respective corresponding expansion force the predetermined other geometric figure, ie z. B. from an ellipse to a circle. In this case, in the middle of the tape, e.g. a pair of figures with z. B. two differently sized ellipses may be provided or it can be provided or arranged in parallel to each other several pairs of figures side by side or on the entire band length in a uniform spacing of the pairs of figures. Of course, but also more than two figures of different dimensions and thus different load assignment can be provided side by side, with corresponding forces statements such. B. four different widths or different widths and high ellipses, designed for and labeled with 0.5 kg, 1 kg, 1.5 kg and 2 kg or even a fifth ellipse with 2.5 kg. Thus, the exercise device can be used by different strong people to different exercises, eg. B. for exercises under constant maintenance of a certain force or between different Dehnbelastungen constantly changing, so intermittent exercises.

In a particularly advantageous manner, the clamping clips used as clip handles may indeed have clip arms on the inside of which similar clamping profiles are present, as in the known bag clips. In contrast to these, however, they are no longer connected by a film hinge, which does not allow unfolding and open lying of the two arms in a 180 ° -Auflagestellung, but usually holds the two arms at an angle less than 90 °, causing the Insight into the clamping surfaces and thus an optimal insertion of the tape is hindered. By connecting the two independent clamping arms via a hinge with bearing eyes and bearing pin, the two support arms can rest in a completely open, ie unfolded state flat and tilt-free on a surface. Thereafter, the exercise band at a right angle to the longitudinal extent of the arms can be easily and accurately placed on one arm. Then the second arm is flattened over the rest of the lower arm resting on the tape and pressed firmly on it, so that the closure on the arm ends, which is preferably designed as a swivel bracket holds.

It is advantageous if a spherical abutment is provided at the bottom of the clamping groove of the lower arm, on which in the closed state of the clamping arms the at least one web of the upper arm is present with an intermediate band. There are then also two upper clamping webs present, which are spaced from each other so that they partially surround the spherical abutment, whereby the clamped band still undergoes a redirection. As a result, the band is deflected not only V but W-shaped, whereby a safer clamping takes place and thus higher tensile forces are exerted on the tape handles, without the tape from slipping out of the grips of the handles.

The spherical abutment can be a soft elastic cord, which in the bottom of the groove z. B. is fixed by gluing, wherein the webs are then shorter and inelastic interpreted. Due to the soft elastic abutment an optimal anti-slip clamping is achieved without the risk of damaging the band by squeezing.

A secure clamping is also obtained when the abutment is a semi-circular, rigid elevation at the bottom of the groove, while the two clamping webs experience a slightly longer, elastic design, so that they are easily spread apart when pressed onto the abutment and so can not squeeze the intermediate band ,

It is further advantageous, if the two arms of the clip handle, in relation to their height and length have relatively wide support base, for example, 1.5 to 5 times wider than the active inside of the arms. As a result, a particularly wide bearing surface of the arms is obtained, which then in open, unfolded state z. B. tilt-free rest on the table or floor, so that the tape is aligned in peace appropriately aligned on this. Also, when pivoting and folding the upper arm on the lower arm and pressing there no risk of tipping the mount, which could cause the tape to slip out of its aligned position. In addition, this support base can undergo a curly training and center be wider than at the ends. As a result, an appealing shape, with good manageability is achieved at the same time.

It is also particularly advantageous if, on the inside of the base edge of the lower arm, on which the band is placed for clamping, several markings such as grooves, lines, knobs or beads are provided at a uniform spacing to the center transverse to the longitudinal extent. This is possible in a simple manner, since the support base protrude laterally relatively far out to the central profile strips, so that substantially a T-shape of the arm is obtained, Thus, on both sides of a relatively wide base edge is present, making the markings clearly visible can be attached to the insides. The tape can thus be inserted exactly vertically and simultaneously in the middle orientation in the grip clip and clamped.

In Fig. 1, an elastic exercise device 1 is shown, which consists of a per se known exercise band 2, to which are mounted in the optimum distance for the corresponding exercise two clamping handles 3. It can be seen that this is an exercise band, on the surface of which at least one row of a geometric pattern is applied. It can also be seen that the unstressed band motif 4 here is an ellipse, which is stretched under predetermined tensile force as a tensioned band motif 5 to a circle. The person practicing can stretch the exercise band 2 clamped between the clamping grips 3 evenly during extension exercises and follow the stretching process visually and mentally until the intended change of subject occurs. This indicates that the tension or tension is reached, under which the band is to be held constant during the exercise. This is done without cramped, direct clawing of the hands into the band, which eliminates distortions in the band and premature fatigue in the hands.

Hierdurch wirkt der Daumen als Drehachse, über die sich ein freies Einpendeln während der Übung vollzieht, so dass die beiden Klemm-Griffen sich selbsttätig stets parallel zueinander ausrichten, unter gleichmäßigem Zug des schlupffrei eingeklemmten Bandes 2.Fig. 2 shows a similar exercise device as Fig. 1, except that here the exercise tape 2 has as geometrical motif 4 in the untensioned state of the band diamonds, which are in correspondingly tensed state as motifs 5 to squares. In addition, a retaining element 6 are provided on the clamping handles 3, which is here seen to be designed as a rigid bracket, which is attached to one longitudinal side of the handles. The person practicing can now easily grasp the handles on the temples with their fists and pull them on the two handles and thus on the strap. However, the person practicing can also in a very effective manner only hook the thumb 8 of her hand, as can be seen in more detail from FIG. As a result, the thumb acts as a rotation axis, over which a free settling takes place during the exercise, so that the two clamping handles automatically align themselves always parallel to each other, under uniform train of the slip-clamped band. 2

From Fig. 3 it can be seen that the handles 3, between which the band 2 is clamped, as holding elements flexible straps 7 carry, are hooked into the thumb 8 of the hands 9 of the person practicing. It can be seen as a einpendelndes, correct alignment of the exercise device by the suspension takes place between the thumbs and thus allows a uniform, distortion-free stretching of the band.

In Fig. 4 to 12 of the clamping handle is shown in its particular embodiment as a clip-handle 10, wherein the band 2 is securely clamped between two mutually pivotable clamping arms, as will be described in more detail below.

Thus, Fig. 4 shows how the clip-handle 10, a retaining loop 7 is attached via longitudinally attached eyelets 11. The rope, the cord or the cord, from which the retaining loop 7 is formed, is thereby passed through the two eyelets 11 and ends in a thumb ring 12, in which the loop ends are securely fastened. In the eccentric opening 13 of the gripping ring now the practicing person hangs her thumb 8. It can be seen how a leveling of the handles takes place, in which case additionally also a displacement of the loop cord can take place in the eyelets, for the symmetrical alignment of the ring 12 to the handle and thus to the band.

Fig. 5 shows the same view and same embodiment as in Fig. 4, except that here a gripping ball 14 is provided on the untensioned holding strap as a gripper element, which is strung on its centric bore 15 on the loop cord 7. The person practicing now does not grasp the retaining loop 7 directly, but rather via the gripping ball 14. The axial slipping of the ball on the cord likewise results in a free settling of the exerciser. Of course, instead of a gripping ball, several gripping balls of the same or different diameters can be lined up on the holding strap, or a gripping spool 16, as shown in FIG. 11, can be used.

From Fig. 6, which shows a cross-section through a clip-handle 10 in the closed state of tension, it can be seen that the handle consists of a lower arm 20 and an upper arm 21, which interlock by their correspondingly designed inner profiles and the interposed band 2 hold it by clamping. It is in the profile strip 19 of the lower arm 20th longitudinally provided a V-groove 18, at whose groove bottom a spherical abutment 17 is formed. The upper arm 21 has on its profile strip 22 two separate via a central groove 23 elastic webs 24. It can be seen that in the cocked-closed-em state of the clip handle 10, the webs 24 so up on the spherical abutment 17, that they are easily pressed apart and thereby rest on the circumference laterally sliding elastic, without standing upright or radially oppressive. As a result, the interposed band 2 is not pressed as in a pair of pliers, but only held pressed elastically between the webs and the abutment. Through the five deflection points in the course of a secure, slip-free holding the tape is ensured along its entire length. This secure holding can be done even with bands of different thickness, since the elastic webs, if necessary, spread apart only slightly more or less. Furthermore, it can be seen how the eyelets 11 are provided on the profile strip 19 of the lower arm 20, wherein it should be noted that the eyelet is pulled so far to the upper edge of the profile strip 19, that the retaining loop as close as possible to the band 2 at the eyelet is fastened. Finally, Markierungswülste 29 are provided on the inner base edge, as will be seen in more detail from Fig. 8 to 11.

In the embodiment of the clip-handle 10 shown in Fig. 7, a U-groove 30 is provided on the profile strip 19 of the lower arm 20, inserted in the base of an elastic cord 31 of circular cross-section and z. B. is fixed therein by gluing. In addition, the profile strip 22 of the upper arm 21 has two rigid webs 34 which are separated by a groove 33. The webs 34 stand with their rounded end faces with vertical pressure on the soft elastic cord 31, this slightly pushing. It is self-evident that the interposed band 2, which here undergoes five deflections in a W-shape, is held extremely securely but at the same time elastically clamped without damage. The profiles and the elastic cord are dimensionally coordinated so that even the thinnest band is held securely by lightly pressing the elastic cord. But even the thickest band, to which the strongest tensile forces are applied as intended, gets through corresponding stronger, determined by the thickness of the tape impressions of the elastic cord also slip-or. held non-slip.

As can be seen from Fig. 8, the lower arm 20 is pivotally connected to the upper arm 21 via a hinge 35 with axis 36 or to min. 180 ° open and closed connected. At the other end of the lower arm 20 a preferably made of spring steel wire swivel bracket 37 is provided on which in turn a guide roller 38 or ball is rotatably mounted. In addition, the outer end of the upper arm 21 has a nose 39, on the in the closed state of the clip handle, so in the pressed state of the upper arm on the lower arm, when pivoting the pivot bracket 37, the guide roller 38 rolls and holds the two arms , Finally, it can be seen how on the inside of the base edge 27, the Markierungswülste 29 are arranged in uniform spacing from one another and at the same time to Armmitte, and like the same two eyelets 11 are provided, in which the cord of the retaining loop 7 is mounted.

Fig. 9, which allows a free view of the top of the lower arm 20 through the broken-down upper arm 21, illustrates in particular the inventive width ratio between the profile strip 19 with V or U-groove 18 and 30 and the base 25. Es It can be seen that the base 25 in its central largest width here is more than three times as wide as the profile strip 19. This provides optimum tilt resistance of the lower arm and the entire handle is present in lying on a flat surface situation, like this z. B. when inserting the exercise tape is the case. In addition, the provided on the inner base edge Markierungswülste 28 are provided on both sides of the profile strip 19 in the transverse direction of the clip, ie in an insertion direction of the tape on both sides aligned to each other. This allows a light and accurate insertion of the tape and "lead" the human eye. The Markierungswülsten 28 may be additionally assigned numbers or letters and z. B. arranged in mirror image, each starting from the center to the outside. So when loading does not have to start the big counting, but just left and right attention to be paid to the margins the same letters or numbers or other symbols of the same kind are visible in the band. Thus, the tape can be placed quickly and accurately both centered, as well as vertically on the lower arm and thus to the entire clip or aligned.

Fig. 10 zeigt den Clip-Griff in geschlossenem bzw. Fig. 10 shows the clip handle in closed or on the hinge 35 in the collapsed state of the arms 20 and 21 and with swung up bracket 37, wherein the guide roller 38, the nose 39 engages over and so holds the two arm ends together.

It can be seen that while the arms 20 and 21 on their wide base 25 and the swivel bracket 37 on a lie flat pad 32. In this tension-free unfolded, tamper-proof state of the clip handle, the exercise band can be easily placed on the lower arm in an appropriate orientation, especially as can be seen quickly and safely by the transverse Markierungswülste 29, which are provided only on the lower arm where and how the tape is to be placed in the correct orientation, namely on the lower arm 20. If the tape is then properly placed on this, then without any risk of tipping the upper arm 21 can be raised from the pad 32 via its outer end with nose 39 and 180 ° pivoted or folded over the lower arm. Thereafter, it is pressed near the outer end of the upper arm in the direction of the lower arm and the pivot bracket 37 is clipped with its guide roller 38 via the nose 39 of the upper arm. From Fig. 11 can also be seen how on the retaining loop 7, a holding coil 16 is provided which is centrally provided with a deep annular groove, in which the thumb 8 can be suspended.

Finally, it should be noted that the handles according to the invention are designed in particular for holding training bands and rubber cords, but are also, if necessary, for endless use of tapes and cords are used successfully. It can also directly with appropriate exercises on the handle, the z. B. the two ends of a training band coupled, are pulled while the strap loop is hung.

In Fig. 13, a flat exercise band 2 is shown in the unloaded state, on which a longitudinal center row of uniformly spaced rectangles 57 are applied. Within each rectangle 2 is 1.5 kg, the Dehnkraftangaben 58 inscribed under the action of the rectangles 57 are stretched to the apparent in Fig. 14 squares 59. At the same time, the corresponding figure of 1.5 kg is very easy to read.

Fig. 15 also shows a flat exercise band 2 in the unloaded state, on which a longitudinal center row of evenly spaced diamonds 60 are applied. Within each rhombus 60, the stretching force 58 is also written with 1.5 kg, under the action of the rhombuses 60 are stretched to the apparent in Fig. 16 transverse squares 61. Here, too, the corresponding statement 1.5 kg is very readable.

From Fig. 17, a flat exercise band 2 in the unloaded state can be seen, on which a longitudinal center row of evenly spaced ellipse pairs are arranged, each formed from a wider ellipse 62 and a narrower ellipse 63. Here, within each wider ellipse 62nd with 1.5 kg the Dehnkraftangabe 58 enrolled under the action of these wider ellipses 62 are stretched to the apparent from Fig. 18 circles 65, while within each narrower ellipse 63 with 2 kg, the Dehnkraftangabe 64 is inscribed under the action of these narrower Ellipses 63 are stretched to those shown in FIG. 19 circles 66.

Fig. 20 shows a short elastic exercise band 2, on the center only a rectangle 57 is applied with the Dehnkraftangabe 58, while at both ends of the band depending on a handle 67 is firmly attached.

The unstretched band 2 shown in FIG. 21 also has two fixed handles 67 at its ends, except that here are three different geometric figures, each with different Dehnkraftangaben are applied band centered. Thus there is a wider ellipse 68 with the indication 69 of 1 kg, a rhombus 60 with the indication 58 of 1.5 kg and a narrow rectangle 57 with the indication 64 of 2 kg.

Fig. 22 finally shows how the tape of Fig. 21 is stretched under a tensile force of 1.5 kg so that the transverse ellipse 68 is stretched with the indication 1 kg to a longitudinal ellipse, the diamond 60 to a transverse square 61 and the narrow rectangle 57 is stretched to a slightly wider rectangle. It can be seen that when stretched at 1.5 kg, the figure corresponding to this stretching force of a transverse square 61 with a corresponding Dehnkraftangabe is clearly visible, while the other two figures were not drawn to a clear elongation figure (circle or square).

Dieser Greifring 56 kann als normaler Ring ausgebildet sein oder als Exzenterring wie der Greifring 12 aus Fig. 4.Fig. 23 also shows a handle 3, which can be designed in principle as a clip-handle, and as a holding element has a central eyelet 55 to which a gripping ring 56 is mounted pivotally and slidably. This gripping ring 56 may be formed as a normal ring or as an eccentric ring as the gripping ring 12 of FIG. 4th

  2. An exercise apparatus according to Claim 1, characterised in that a holding element (6, 7, 56) directed in the pulling direction is provided on each of the handles (3, 10, 40, 50), the holding element being a rigid bow (6) or a flexible loop (7) composed of a cable or a cord, for example.
  3. An exercise apparatus according to Claim 2, characterised in that at least one ball (14), a tube or a gripping reel (16) made of rigid or flexible material such as wood or plastics material is fitted slidably via its central bore (15) on the loop (7), or a thumb grip ring (12) is incorporated centrally, arranged parallel to or in the same plane as the elastic exercise band (2, 48) clamped therein.
  4. An exercise apparatus according to Claim 1, characterised in that the geometric shapes applied on the exercise band (2) are ellipses (62, 63), rectangles (57) or diamonds (60), for example, which, when expanded with a force of e.g. 1.5 kg or 2 kg, form or result in circles (65, 66), or squares (59, 61), and in that the correspondina expansion force indication (58, 64) of e.g. 1-5 kg or 2 kg is assigned to at least one of the geometric shapes of the exercise band (2), marked in or next to the shapes, next to or on the handles.
  5. An exercise apparatus according to Claim 4, characterised in that at least one geometric shape of the same design, i.e. just one central shape or group of shapes or several shapes, are provided on a band (2), evenly spaced in the longitudinal direction over the whole length of the band, or in that several geometric shapes of different designs, e.g. two shapes, are arranged in pairs, a specific expansion force corresponding to, and an expansion force indication being assigned to, each shape design.
  6. An exercise apparatus according to Claim 1 to 3, characterised in that at least one, preferably two, bars (24, 34) are provided on the inner side of one arm (21), the upper one when inserting the band (2), which engage into the U- or v-shaped groove (30 or 18) of the second, lower arm (20) when inserting the band (2), and in that a spherical abutment (17, 31) is provided on the bottom of the groove (18, 30) of the lower arm (20), on which, in the closed state of the clamping arms, the at least one bar (24, 34) of the upper arm (21) resiliently [rests]1 with the band (2) lying therebetween, the abutment being a soft-elastic cord (31) which occupies the entire usable clamping width in the bottom of the groove (30) and is fixed by adhesive bonding, for example, and in that the at least one bar (34) is rigid, or the abutment is a rigid elevation (17), semicircular in cross-section, on the groove bottom, and two bars (24) which are resiliently flexible in relation to one another are provided, which rest on the abutment, bending resiliently apart.
1 Plural verb in the source document.
  7. An exercise apparatus according to Claim 6, characterised in that the two arms (20, 21) have respective supporting bases (25) on their sides directed away from one another in the closed, clamping state, which bases are wide in relation to the height and length thereof, the width of the said bases amounting to about 1.5 to 5 times the width of the shaped strip of the lower arm (20).
  8. An exercise apparatus according to Claim 6, characterised in that two eyelets (11) are provided, or one eyelet (55) is provided centrally, on the lower clamping arm (20) on one of the longitudinal sides close to the respective outer end, for the attachment of the gripping cable (7) or a gripping ring (56).
  9. An exercise apparatus according to Claim 6, characterised in that the two arms (20, 21) are separately manufactured parts which are joined together via a pivot bearing (35) with an axis (36) and are pivotable or hinged relative to one another around at least 180° when opening, both arms lying straight on their bases' supporting surfaces (25, 26) in the mutually aligned open position.
