The banknote storage devices described above are frequently used in vending machines and money-operated entertainment devices and are coupled with banknote validators. In addition, coin validators and coin storage devices are installed in these devices to give users ggfls. to repay any surplus funds or to pay out profits. Due to the limited space available in these devices, the banknote storage devices have a relatively small number of chambers for receiving banknotes. A vending machine manufacturer or manufacturer defines the valences of the banknotes to be stored in the banknote storage, which are used for Payout are determined and populates the empty banknote memory with appropriate banknotes to ensure a payout of the same. During operation of the device, empty chambers of the banknote storage are filled up with banknotes entered by users whose valency corresponds to the valency stored in an electronic control unit. Since usually only two weights of banknotes are provided for storage in the banknote memory, there is a problem with regard to the capacity of the banknote memory and thus with regard to the payout capability of the device. Preferably, banknotes of low value are provided for direct payout and thus for storage in the banknote store, and banknotes of high value are transported directly into the cash register. If the banknote store is set in such a way that, for example, banknotes with the
It is an object of the invention to provide a method of the type mentioned, which ensures flexible allocation of the chambers of the banknote storage with banknotes of different weights.
According to the invention, the object is achieved in that, depending on a minimum value stored in the control electronics and maximum value for the number of banknotes of particular significance, the banknotes are either stored in the chambers for output or directed into the cash register, the minimum value and / or the maximum value is changed by the control electronics depending on the number of entered and / or dispensed banknotes of particular significance, the sum of all maximum values greater than the number of chambers and the sum of all minimum values are less than or equal to the number of chambers, wherein in the control electronics a target value for the number of banknotes of a given valence is stored and the banknotes with the least valence, the number of which is greater than the target value, are primarily issued from the chambers, and that banknotes of particular valence are issued in an issuing process until they reach their minimum value issued and after reaching the minimum value of banknotes of particular significance during a dispensing banknotes are issued with next higher significance, with a fall short of the minimum value only in those cases where it is mandatory for the issue of a certain amount.
Due to these measures, it is possible to pay out banknotes weighted by their value in the banknote storage to store, wherein a plurality of weights can be provided, which are determined after usual deposits or withdrawals, to ensure both the refilling of the banknote memory by entering banknotes and its disbursement ability. Since banknotes of low value often come to payoff, for example, the banknote with the
To achieve a relatively fast and easy storage or dispensing of banknotes of particular significance, the banknotes are preferably directed into any chamber of the apparatus, the control electronics both detecting free chambers and storing the valency of the bins occupying the chambers together with associated characteristics of the chamber , Thus, it is not necessary to occupy the device, so the banknote memory, in an incoming bill in such a way that the bill passes into a specific chamber for storage. Rather, the bill is promoted to the next available chamber. Likewise, when a banknote of particular significance is paid out, the banknote store is brought into the position in which the nearest chamber with the banknote of corresponding significance is located.
For continuous flexible adaptation of the memory behavior of the banknote memory, in an embodiment of the invention, the maximum value and / or the minimum value are adapted by the control electronics as a function of the valencies of the banknotes passing through a bill validator upstream of the device. For example, if the banknote store is housed in a device where high-value banknotes are frequently deposited and relatively high amounts are paid, higher ones become available Minimum or maximum values for medium-value banknotes are stored, while for frequent payment with low-value banknotes, the minimum and maximum values for medium and high-value banknotes are reduced and which are increased for banknotes of low value.
Advantageously, by applying a switch coupled to the control electronics, the minimum value and the maximum value of a banknote of particular significance are set to zero. Accordingly, the banknote of this value does not reach the banknote store but is deposited directly in the cash register. Thus, the operator of the banknote storage has the easy way to determine which weights of banknotes on the banknote storage come to pay and which valences are promoted directly into the box office.
It goes without saying that the features mentioned above and those yet to be explained below can be used not only in the respectively indicated combination but also in other combinations. The scope of the present invention is defined only by the claims.

In a control electronics of a bank note storage are for banknotes of certain weights, namely 5, - EUR, 10, - EUR, 20, - EUR and 50, - EUR, respectively defined a minimum value, a maximum value and a target value, the sum the maximum value is greater than the number of banknote receiving chambers of the banknote memory. When entering a banknote of particular significance, the control electronics checks the occupancy of the chambers of the banknote memory with regard to the valency of the banknotes received therein and whether a number of banknotes of this significance corresponding to the minimum value is present in the banknote store. If this is not the case, the deposit of the banknote entered takes place in a free chamber of the banknote store and is thus intended for payment. When the minimum value of the banknotes of this denomination has been reached, it is determined whether a compartment of the banknote store is free to receive the entered banknote. If there is no free chamber, the bill is conveyed to a cash register. Should there still be free chambers, but they are needed to hold banknotes of a different value in order to reach their minimum values, The entered banknote is also promoted to the cashier. The transport to the cash register also takes place after a number of banknotes of this value corresponding to a maximum value is present in the banknote store. If the maximum value has not yet been reached, the deposit of the entered banknote takes place in a free chamber of the banknote store.
In the present case, when entering a banknote with the value of EUR 5.00 and an available free chamber of the banknote store, it is checked whether there are already twelve banknotes of this value within the banknote store. If this is the case, the entered 5, - EUR banknote is transported to the cash register, otherwise the 5, - EUR banknote is deposited in the free chamber.
When issuing banknotes from the banknote store, banknotes of the lowest value are always first output in the banknote store, and then the banknotes having the next highest priority are taken into account.
In the following explanation of the issue of banknotes from the banknote storage, an issue amount of EUR 40, - accepted. The control electronics now first checks the occupancy of the chamber with banknotes of the lowest value, that is the value of 5, - EUR, for which a target value of five pieces is stored. If there are six banknotes at 5, - EUR within the chambers, their payment is made until the minimum value is reached, namely four pieces, so that two banknotes a 5, - EUR are paid. Accordingly, there are four banknotes with a value of 5, - EUR in the banknote storage and the deposited minimum value is reached. For payment of the balance of EUR 30, - checks the control electronics, the occupancy of the chambers with banknotes of the next higher value, so 10, - EUR banknotes. If there are six banknotes a 10, - EUR in the banknote storage and the corresponding target value is defined with five pieces, then the payment of a banknote of this priority takes place. The remaining amount of 20, - EUR is either paid with a banknote with the value of 20, - EUR or there is the issue of a banknote with the
Minimum, maximum and target values are not fixed values but can be changed by the control electronics depending on the number of given and / or dispensed banknotes of particular significance to ensure both the banknote storage disbursement and the preferred conveyance of high value banknotes to ensure the cash register.
