Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a substrate which is based on at least one Site completely or partially provided with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is, as well as a method for temporarily reducing the Adhesive force of a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer.
So-called sticky notes are widely used in everyday office life. It is a piece of paper from a substrate (usually paper), the on one side usually on a partial surface coated with a so-called repositionable adhesive are. The piece of paper can be repeatedly on a smooth counter surface stick on and peel off without a substantial Reduction of the adhesive force occurs.
For the production of such sticky notes is a paper web first provided with the repositionable adhesive and made into rolls. Often the paper production takes place and the application of the adhesive on the one hand and the cutting and finishing the sticky notes on the other hand with geographically separated companies, so that's already Adhesive substrate usually in shape a roll transported to the confectioner. At the confectioner the substrate is withdrawn from the roll, then it is cut and the other necessary Steps to make sticky note blocks performed.
In WO-A-87105315, a repositionable substrate (for use as a sticky note), which is coated with an adhesive whose surface inactive in places. The surface of the adhesive layer is partially through covered or non-sticky (adhesive) particles, so that only the between These areas exposed areas are available as adhesive areas.
- on the side facing away from the substrate side of at least a portion of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, a adhesive force-reducing coating is applied,
- the material of this coating is volatile when heated to a temperature that does not irreversibly change the substrate and pressure-sensitive adhesive layer.
First, some terms used in the invention explained.

The term substrate designates any useful document for Applying a pressure-sensitive adhesive. In particular, it may be the substrate is a paper or polymeric material, preferably are, for example, notes or markers, Adhesive films or the like.
The substrate is wholly or partly on at least one side provided with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. This is any self-adhesive coating, which is an adhesion of the Can cause substrates on a mating surface. It may be to act a permanent adhesive, in this case is a once glued substrate not or only with change or destruction of the substrate and / or the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer removable again. However, preference is given to so-called repositionable Adhesive, in particular repositionable microsphere adhesive with microspheres made of self-adhesive polymer, for example from polyacrylate, as for example from DE-A-2836319 are known.

A commonly used repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive is a Polyacrylate microsphere pressure-sensitive adhesive, such as in DE-C-28 36 319 and under the mark "Info-Notes" used sticky notes is used. In this Product, the adhesive application weight is about 5 gsm. For inactivation of this adhesive layer about 15 g / sqm are crystalline Ammonium hydrogen carbonate required as it is the name "ABC shoot" is available.
The essence of the invention is the bond strength of an already functionally effective adhesive layer, with the one Substrate is provided by coating with a while heating temporarily reduce volatile material for as long as until by simply heating the coating Adhesive strength of the adhesive layer (at least partially) restored becomes. This concept of the invention has several advantages.
The particular advantage of the present invention is in the Facilitate the processing and packaging of already with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer provided substrate. To the application of the pressure-sensitive adhesive, the substrate can thus easily Assembled in rolls and also unrolled again be without the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer handling problems prepares. Also the subsequent cutting and finishing is due to the inactivated pressure-sensitive adhesive layer considerably relieved. After the completion of the corresponding Processing and finishing steps can be done by heating of the finished product its bond strength restored become.
Another conceivable application is self-adhesive films with a Permanent pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, before the final sticking should be positionable on the counter surface. exemplary be adhesive films for automotive parts mentioned. These can be precisely positioned when the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is deactivated and then, for example, by a hot air blower (by reactivating the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer) fixed become.
The invention further relates to a method for temporary Reduction of the adhesive force of a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, a the adhesive force-reducing Coating is applied and the material of this coating volatilizes upon heating to a temperature which does not irreversibly change the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The application of this coating is when using powdered coating material by simply brushing, Sputtering or electrostatic application possible.
