Abstract

A yarn paraffin application ring has a cylindrical form with a paraffin mantle (12) around a central spindle hole (14). The paraffin ring (10) has an end-face (16) around the socket hole which incorporates two, three or four blind holes (20, 22, 24). Each blind hole is of different depth to the others e.g. 6, 8 or 10 mm.

Description

The present invention relates to a paraffin ring for Garnparaffierung.

Such paraffin rings are known and are used in the manufacture of yarn, in particular in rotor spinning machines and winding machines, as is known from DE 100 62 096 A1. The known rings have a substantially cylindrical shape, with a holder-side end, a standing with a yarn in frictional contact holder-distal end, a paraffin shell and a concentric to a longitudinal central axis of the paraffin ring Aufsteckbohrung. The Aufsteckbohrung has a substantially circular cross-section, by means of which the paraffin ring is attached to a designated holder. At its holder-side end of the paraffin ring has a so-called Führungsfase, with the alignment on and a rotational connection with the holder is achieved. The holder is, for example, a spindle-like pin.

Document US-A-3,393,660 discloses an apparatus having a rotating wax disk assembly which grows a traveling yarn strand. The rotating disk is received on a spindle and is in direct drive engagement with the spindle until the disk is exhausted. When this disk is exhausted, a new wax disk on the spindle rotates the old disk and ultimately moves in growing engagement with the yarn column, thus making it unnecessary to shut down the apparatus for inserting a new disk.

Document US-A-1,624,844 discloses a yarn waxing apparatus having a substantially vertical post, a shell surrounding the post near its lower end, a sleeve which is rotatable about the upper portion of the post and adapted thereto is to pass through an opening in a wax cake, a yarn-supporting cover which closes the upper end of the shell, a bearing bush, which is arranged centrally to the cover and surrounds the central portion of the post, and a roller bearing between the nearest outer Ends of the post and the sleeve.

In operation, a yarn is rubbed over the non-holding end of the paraffin ring with paraffin remaining on the yarn and the yarn "paraffinized". The paraffin ring is gradually removed due to the release of paraffin to the yarn. If the paraffin ring has been removed to a minimum, it must be replaced. Since the paraffin rings in the rotor spinning machines or winding machines are held relatively high (above the eye level of many operators), however, it is not easy for the operating personnel to recognize when a paraffin ring has changed must become. Therefore, in many cases, the paraffin ring is changed too early, which leads to waste of material, or it is changed too late, which is associated with poor yarn quality.

Based on this, a paraffin ring according to the invention with the features of claim 1 is provided.

The paraffin ring according to the invention has in the paraffin shell on a holder-side end at least one substantially parallel to the Aufsteckbohrung extending, non-continuous tap hole. When removing the paraffin ring whose length shortens from the holder remote end in the direction of the holder. From a certain moment, namely just when the residual length of the paraffin ring corresponds exactly to the depth of the at least one tap hole, the tap hole is visible in the paraffin shell. During the inspection of the paraffin rings, the operator recognizes the previously not visible tap hole and can conclude that there is an imminent change of the paraffin ring. The term "paraffin casing" is understood in the geometrical sense of the cylinder jacket to the Aufsteckbohrung.

In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, a plurality of piercing holes are provided in the paraffin jacket, preferably two, three or four tap holes to improve the recognizability. Of course, more than four tap holes can be provided.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the paraffin ring on several tap holes of different depths. This has the effect that with decreasing length of the paraffin ring, the tap holes are visible one after the other, so that the operating staff to the Changing the paraffin ring can estimate the remaining time better. Particularly advantageous is an embodiment with three tap holes, the depths are six millimeters, eight millimeters or ten millimeters.

Further advantages and embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the description and the accompanying drawings.

It is understood that the features mentioned above and those yet to be explained not only in the particular combination given, but also in other combinations or alone, without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Die Aufsteckbohrung 14 verläuft konzentrisch zu einer Längsmittelachse des Paraffinrings 10.Figure 1 shows a paraffin ring 10 according to the invention for Garnparaffierung in a perspective view. The paraffin ring 10 includes a paraffin shell 12 and a mounting hole 14 for attaching the paraffin ring 10 to an intended (not shown holder) of a device for yarn production or yarn processing, for example. A rotor spinning machine or a winder. The Aufsteckbohrung 14 extends concentrically to a longitudinal center axis of the paraffin ring 10th

In the illustration of FIG. 1, the viewer is confronted with a holder-distal end 18 of the paraffin ring 10. In this illustration, the paraffin ring 10 according to the invention does not differ from the previously known paraffin rings, as they are used in devices for yarn production or - processing.

Figure 2 shows the paraffin ring 10 of Figure 1 according to the invention in a perspective view from the opposite direction, i. From the side of a support-side end 16 of the paraffin ring 10. Also visible is the through Aufsteckbohrung 14, the bracket-side end 16 but not a circular cross-section, but a polygonal cross-section (in the illustrated embodiment, a square cross-section), which serves as a guide chamfer 15. Other non-circular cross-sectional geometries such as, for example, an oval cross-section can serve as Führungsfase.

Furthermore, the paraffin ring 10 according to the invention three tap holes 20, 22, 24, which are provided on the bracket-side end 16 in the paraffin shell 12 and extend substantially parallel to the mounting hole 14.

The three tap holes 20, 22, 24 have a comparatively small depth. The paraffin ring 10 has a length of several centimeters, for example four to five cm (the length as well as the diameter of the paraffin ring may vary depending on the application), while the tap holes, only have a depth of a few millimeters. This is illustrated in the (schematic and not to scale) representation in FIG. FIG. 3 shows the paraffin ring 10 according to the invention in FIGS. 1 and 2 in a side view in a perspective view.

At its (on the left in the illustration of Figure 3 arranged) bracket-side end 16 of the paraffin ring 10 has said puncture holes 20, 22, 24 in the paraffin shell 12. The three tap holes 20, 22, 24 preferably have different depths. In the illustrated embodiment, a first (lowest) tap hole 20 has the largest depth, a second (top) tap hole a mean depth and finally a third (middle) tap hole 24 the smallest depth. The depths for the tap holes may also vary depending on the application, with depths of six millimeters, eight millimeters and ten millimeters being particularly advantageous for the three tap holes. At a minimum, the least depth should be chosen so that it is not below the minimum paraffin ring length of a worn or spent paraffin ring.

In operation, the paraffin ring 10 according to the invention is used in a manner known per se in the holder provided for this purpose. Yarn runs frictionally over the holder-distal end 18 of the paraffin ring 10 leaving paraffin on the yarn (thus paraffinizing the yarn), thereby removing the paraffin ring 10 so that its length decreases with increasing duration of use. In the illustration of Figure 3, this means that the paraffin ring 10 of the (right) holding retainer Shortened to the left at the end of 18. If the removal of the paraffin ring 10 has progressed so far that the bottom of the first (and deepest) tap hole 20 is reached, this tap hole is visible in the surface of the paraffin mantle 12 at the holder-distal end 18 of the paraffin ring 10. An operator is indicated by this visibility of the first, deepest tap hole 20 that the paraffin ring 10 is worn to some extent, a change is not yet necessary immediately. Upon further removal of the paraffin ring 10 in the direction of the bracket-side end 16 then the two further tap holes 22 and 24 are then successively visible, is conveyed to the operator when Visible becoming the middle tap hole 22 that the upcoming change of paraffin ring 10 is now imminent, so that at Become visible the last, shortest tap hole 24 of the paraffin ring 10 can be changed as soon as possible.

Figure 4 illustrates in plan view of the holder distal end 18 of the paraffin ring 10 its appearance when all three tap holes 20, 22, 24 are visible, i. the paraffin ring 10 (or its remainder) must be replaced.

With the invention, a paraffin ring for Garnparaffierung provided in a simple, but very reliable manner in which a too early or too late change of the removed paraffin ring is eliminated. This is achieved as described by one or more tap holes according to the invention.
