Zur Bereitstellung der Medikamente werden vielfach von Kompressoren betriebene Düsenvernebler verwendet. Die Medikamen- ten-Aerosole werden dann über Schläuche zu den Einatemöffnungen der Masken geführt. Alternativ dazu können für einige Medikamente Dosieraerosole (sog. Inhalationsmaske (1) für Pferde mit einem ovalen, konisch zulaufenden Querschnitt mit einer zum Pferdekopf hin geöffneten, größeren Grundseite und einer kleineren, ge- schlossenen Grundsejjte, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie aus einem flexiblen, aber im wesentlichen formstabilen Material, z.B. Kunststoff besteht und vorzugsweise transparent ausgebildet ist und/oder erfindungsgemäß an der Innenwandung über einen gesamtumfänglich, aufgerauhten Bereich verfügt, der sich vom pferdekopfseifigen Rand bis mindestens 10 cm davon beabstandet zur kleineren Grundseite hin erstreck€ und daß sie eine oder mehrere der folgenden Vorrichtungen aufweist1. Mindestens einen kombinierter Ein-/Auslasskanal (2) dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der freie Strömungsquerschnitt auf der gesamten Kanallänge mindestens 4 cm2 beträgt, daß er in Höhe der Nasenöffnungen des Pferdes angebracht ist, daß er fest oder wiederholt lösbar mit der Inhalationsmaske (1) verbunden ist, daß er über eine integrierte Halterung (8) verfügt, in welche Inhalatquellen (7) mit Atemzugsteuerung (9) austauschbar eingebracht werden können, daß an der der Außenluft zugewandten Öffnung des Kanals, in Richtung des Einatemstromes gesehen vor der Auslaßöffnung der Inhalatquelle (7) , ein austauschbarer Filter (5a) in oder vor der Kanalöffnung angebracht ist, der über einen Filterverschluß (6) mit der Kanalwandung lösbar fixierbar ist! und die gesamte freie Kanalöffnung abdeckt.2.
