Abstract

The discharge tube includes a sealed glass tube (1) with metal connection electrodes (3) which pass through the seal of the tube. An electrode support piece (6) matches the shape of the glass and has an axial orifice at its base, for the passage of the metallic electrode (3). The cold cathode discharge tube includes a sealed glass tube (1) which has metallic cages (2) at its ends for firing and maintaining the electrical discharge. These are provided with metal connection electrodes (3) which pass through the seal of the tube, through a prominence in the glass. The electrodes make contact with supply cables (5). The structure includes an electrode support piece (6) which matches the shape of the glass and has an axial orifice at its base, for the passage of the metallic electrode (3). A cover piece (7) fits over the support piece (6), with an internal thread in order to retain the electrode end.
