  • bei welchem jede der Leistungsstufen für den n-ten Teil der maximalen Gesamtleistung des Mehrkanaldimmers ausgelegt ist, die durch das Wärmeableitvermögen des Kühlkörpers begrenzt ist,
  • und bei welchem die Leistungsstufen unter Zwischenschaltung einer Selektionseinrichtung angesteuert sind, wobei die Selektionseinrichtung dafür eingerichtet ist, lastseitig parallel geschaltete Leistungsstufen auch ansteuerungsseitig parallel zu schalten.

An die Leistungsstufen ist im dargestellten Beispiel jeweils eine Last 1, 2, bis n anschließbar oder angeschlossen. Zur Lastaufteilung und Strombegrenzung aufgrund einer thermischen Überwachung ist in der Stromzuleitung - aus z. B. einem 230V-Wechselspannungsnetz - zu den Leistungsstufen eine gemeinsame Eingangsstufe 3 eingefügt. Zur Ansteuerung der Leistungsstufen 1.1, bis 1.n sind Ansteuerungsmittel 6 vorhanden, die entweder innerhalb eines für alle Komponenten 1.1 bis 1.n, 2, 3 gemeinsamen Gerätegehäuses 7, oder außerhalb des Gerätegehäuses 7 angeordnet sind. Die einzelnen Leistungsstufen 1.1 bis 1.n enthalten jeweils eine Strombegrenzungseinrichtung. Die Ansteuerung der Leistungsstufen 1.1 bis 1.n erfolgt unter Zwischenschaltung einer Selektionseinrichtung 4, die dafür eingerichtet ist, lastseitig parallelgeschaltete Leistungsstufen, z.B. 1.1 und 1.2 auch ansteuerungsseitig parallel zu schalten. Ansonsten stimmt der Aufbau des Dimmers mit der ersten Variante überein.
