Abstract

The temporary connector (10) for two components (12, 14) consists of a linking piece (18) with a base section (38) fastened to one of the components e.g. by bolts (30) and nuts (44), and active portions (40) covering a recess (20) containing a pyrotechnic expansion tube (16). The active portions are deformable and have hook-shaped ends engaging with a groove (36) in the second component (14) to form a pressure coupling. The detonation of the pyrotechnic tube deforms the active portions to disengage the hooks and separate the two components without damaging them.
