Bei sehr geringen Beladungen wird ein niedriger Drehzahlwert und eine geringe Bandbreite eingesetzt, um sicherzustellen, dass sich die Wäsche vom Trommelmantel löst und trotzdem eine hohe Waschmechanik erzielt wird. Das Drehzahlprofil besitzt dadurch die Form eines relativ flachen Trapezes (s. I). Bei mittleren Beladungen kann der Drehzahlbereich bis 60 min-1 erweitert werden, da ein Anlegen der Wäsche erst oberhalb dieses Werts stattfindet (s. Trapezform II). Bei hohen Beladungsmengen ist eine große Bandbreite des Drehzahlbereichs notwendig, da die Wäsche in der Trommel in mehreren Ebenen übereinanderliegt und deshalb die Fliehkraft innerhalb dieser Ebenen sehr stark variiert (s. Trapezform III). Durch die Steigerung der Drehzahlen von 30 min-1 auf 80 min-1 wird erreicht, dass zunächst die Wäsche im äußeren Bereich stark bewegt wird. Nach Erhöhung der Drehzahl legt sich diese an den Trommelmantel an, die weiter innen platzierte Wäsche wird bis in die 12-Uhr-Position angehoben und hat außerdem durch das Anlegen der äußeren Wäsche mehr Platz zum Fallen. Durch eine weitere Drehzahlsteigerung setzt sich dieser Effekt bis ins Trommelinnere fort.   1. Method of controlling the drum rotational speed of a program-controlled laundry treating machine, such as a washing machine, washer-dryer or laundry dryer, having a drum which is rotatable about a horizontal or approximately horizontal axis, a driving motor for the drum, a measuring means for determining a load parameter which is dependent on the quantity of laundry introduced into the drum, and a control means for setting the driving motor to various rotational speeds in different steps of a washing or drying program in such a manner that, during a washing or drying program step, individual rotational cycles are carried out with pauses interspersed therebetween, the drum being driven during one rotational cycle at different rotational speeds, which lie between a lower rotational speed value and an upper rotational speed value, and the direction of rotation remaining the same during one rotational cycle, characterised in that the control means sets the lower and the upper rotational speed values, in dependence on the load parameter determined with the measuring means, in such a manner that, in the case of a heavy load, the rotational speed range between the lower rotational speed value and the upper rotational speed value has a broader band width than in the case of a light load.

  6. Method according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised by its use in a washing program for washing laundry suitable for boiling and coloured laundry.
