Ein solcher Kragen bedeutet jedoch hinsichtlich der Konstruktion des Steckverbinders einen zusätzlichen Aufwand, der zudem noch das Bauvolumen und auch die Länge des Steckverbinders in nachteiliger Weise vergrößert. In vorteilhafter Weise wird durch die Ausnehmung sichergestellt, daß der elektrisch freiliegende Teil des Endbereiches der Flachbandleitung bis in das Gehäuse hineinreichen kann, so daß dieser kritische Bereich von dem isolierenden Gehäuse umgeben und damit vor Kurzschlüssen geschützt ist. Eine solche Ausnehmung kann mit Herstellung des Gehäuses ohne weitere Probleme, aber auch nachträglich (z.B. durch Wegfräsen) eingebracht werden. Damit ist der Aufwand für die Herstellung einer solchen Ausnehmung minimal. Da die Ausnehmung innerhalb des Gehäuses realisiert ist, entfällt auch eine im Gegensatz zu dem Kragen erforderliche Vergrößerung des Bauvolumens.
