Description

The invention relates to a non-contact flushing device according to the preamble of claim 1.

A non-contact rinsing device of the type mentioned has become known in the prior art from EP 0 487 977 B. This allows the use of the toilet system without having to touch a button or the like for flushing. Such systems are increasingly desired for hygienic requirements. For this purpose, a position sensor is arranged at the said flushing device at the back of the toilet bowl. If a user sits on the toilet bowl, the position sensor ensures a first flush. When the user leaves the toilet bowl, a signal from said sensor provides a full flush when it reaches another position. The sensor is switched from a sensor range B to a longer sensor range A when the user sits in the first position. If the user moves away from the toilet system, the sensor is switched to a shorter sensor range B again. The shorter sensor range B is about 450mm and the longer sensor range A is about 950mm. In these purging devices thus two toilet use positions are detected. If the second position is determined, a flush is automatically triggered. Detecting two different positions of the user but is very complicated and complicated and in practice it is hardly feasible. In particular, switching between two areas is critical. A standing user is recognized as such indirectly with a sensor that detects an unfolded seat ring.

US 4,141,091 discloses an automatic rinsing device with a sensor which recognizes the direction of movement of a user due to the Doppler effect. If a user withdraws from the flushing device, a flush is automatically triggered by a signal.

Wurde noch keine Spülung ausgelöst, so erfolgt dies nun aufgrund des Signals dieses weiteren Sensors.DE 200 14 027 discloses a flushing device with an actuating button, in which a proximity sensor is installed. Rinsing can be triggered without contact by approaching a hand of the actuating button. Another sensor provides a signal to a controller when a user moves away from the purging device. If no flush has yet been triggered, this will now be due to the signal from this additional sensor.

The invention has for its object to provide a non-contact flushing device of the type mentioned, which has a smaller energy consumption and also works safely.

The object is achieved in a generic flushing device according to claim 1. In the rinsing device according to the invention, two sensors are provided which have completely different functions. The one sensor is the trigger sensor, which emits a signal to trigger a purging and the other sensor is a monitoring sensor, with the one to the Toilet facility approaching person is detected. By means of the monitoring sensor, the trigger sensor can be controlled and in particular activated and deactivated. This is a significant energy and performance reduction possible, so that the sensors can be powered by a battery. The non-contact rinsing release can thus be switched on and off by means of the monitoring sensor. This allows a logical and user-friendly automatic triggering. The object is also achieved by the method according to the invention.

The device is particularly user-friendly if, according to a development of the invention, the triggering sensor is a proximity sensor which, for example, emits a signal for flushing by an approximate hand. Flushing is then ensured even without such flushing trigger, if according to a development of the invention, the monitoring sensor at Moving away a person automatically triggers a flush, if one has not already triggered by the trigger sensor. Flushing is thus automatic if the user has forgotten to initiate a flush.

In the rinsing device according to the invention, the user is active for rinsing activation, i. he usually sheds a purge deliberately and at a time of his choosing.

If, according to a development of the invention, the monitoring sensor is arranged in a mechanical actuating button for the rinsing release, an emergency rinsing can be triggered by a mechanical actuation. The system is thus fully operational even if the electronics fails, resp. in case of power failure or if the battery is empty.

Further advantageous features emerge from the dependent device claims and the method claims.

The flushing device according to the invention has a toilet unit 1, which has a toilet bowl 4, which is fastened, for example, to a building wall 13. The flushing of the toilet bowl 4, for example, by means of a cistern 2, which is connected via a flushing pipe 3 with the toilet bowl 4. For Spülauslösung an actuating device, not shown here is arranged in the cistern 2. For actuating the flushing device, a sensor unit 5 is provided, which is arranged on the building wall 13 within a room 8. This space 8 can be entered through a door 9 by a user 10.

According to FIG. 5, the sensor unit 5 has a housing 6 on which a monitoring sensor A is arranged. In a comparatively small distance from this sensor A, a release sensor B is also arranged in a mechanical button 7. The monitoring sensor A is, for example, an infrared sensor with a detection area 11, which extends substantially to the door 9 itself. The detection range is thus preferably much longer than, for example, 90 cm. The triggering sensor B is preferably a proximity sensor and has a detection range 12 which is substantially smaller or shorter than that of the monitoring sensor A. The length of the detection range 12 is for example a few centimeters, for example about 10 cm. As can be seen, the two sensors A and B are arranged at a distance above the toilet bowl 4 at the back.

The button 7 is as mentioned a mechanical button and mechanically connected to the actuator of the cistern 2 in a conventional manner so that when pressing the button 7, a purge is triggered. The trigger sensor B is connected, for example via a signal line 14 to the actuator.

The mode of action of the flushing device according to the invention will be explained below with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4.

Fig. 1 shows the not yet used toilet system 1. The door 9 is closed and in the room 8 is no one. The monitoring sensor A is active, while the trigger sensor B is preferably inactive. The power supply, for example, preferably via a battery, not shown here, which may be housed in the sensor unit 5.

Der Benutzer 10 befindet sich nun im Erfassungsbereich 11 des Überwachungssensors A. Bei der Erfassung des Benutzers 10 aktiviert der Überwachungssensor A den Auslösesensor B.FIG. 2 shows a user 10 who has opened the door 9 and entered the room 8. The user 10 is now in the detection area 11 of the monitoring sensor A. When detecting the user 10, the monitoring sensor A activates the trigger sensor B.

Fig. 3 shows the user 10 after performing the "business". With his hand 10a he approaches the trigger sensor B and as soon as the hand 10a is in the detection area 12, the trigger sensor B sends via the line 14 a signal to the actuator, which also triggers the flush here. The user 10 could also press in the event of an emergency release the button 7, thus triggering a flush.

After flushing, the user 10 will leave the room 8 again through the door 9. As soon as he leaves the detection area 11, the monitoring sensor A deactivates the trigger sensor B. Should the user 10 have left the room 8 without prior flushing, this is detected by the electronics of the sensor unit 5 and in this case, a flush is automatically triggered. It is thus ensured that in any case rinsed. The cistern 2 is refilled again in a known manner with rinse water and the toilet system 1 is ready for further use again. In the unused state, as mentioned, the monitoring sensor A is preferably permanently activated.

The toilet installation 1 'according to FIGS. 6 to 9 has a sensor unit 5' with a monitoring sensor A ', with which, as explained above, a person 10 approaching the toilet installation 1' can be detected. The range R1 of the monitoring sensor A 'can extend over the entire depth of the room, but includes at least a substantial area of 90 cm in front of the toilet bowl 4. The monitoring sensor A' is preferably designed so that it detects a standing position of a user 10 , Such a standing position is shown in FIG.

The sensor unit 5 'also has a proximity sensor C, which has a range R2 which is shorter than the range R1 of the monitoring sensor A'. In addition, the short-range sensor C is directed downward and detects the sitting position of the user, as shown in Fig.8.

Furthermore, the sensor unit 5 'comprises the trigger sensor B already explained above, which is preferably a proximity sensor and has the short detection range R3 shown in FIG.

The mode of operation of the variant according to FIGS. 6 to 9 will be explained in more detail below.

In the unused state according to FIG. 6, only the monitoring sensor A 'is preferably switched on, as a result of which the energy consumption in this phase can be kept to a minimum. If, according to FIG. 7, a user 10 enters the detection area R1 of the monitoring sensor A ', the proximity sensor C and the trigger sensor B are switched on. If the monitoring sensor A 'recognizes the standing position shown in FIG. 7, then the flushing device 2' is switched so that it is flushed with a partial amount of water during a flushing release. If the user 10 takes the in 8, the proximity sensor C recognizes this position and switches off the monitoring sensor A 'and the operation sensor B. This prevents false flushing while sitting. In addition, the short-range sensor C switches the purging device 2 'so that it is flushed with a full flushing amount in the event of a flushing release.

A'.If the user 10 leaves the standing position shown in FIG. 7 without first sitting down, the monitoring sensor A 'automatically triggers a partial flush before leaving the room. The user 10 can also initiate a flush by approaching his hand to the actuation sensor B and entering the detection range R3 of this sensor B. Finally, a mechanical tactile actuation for Spülauslösung is conceivable. A partial flush is thus triggered in any case. In one case, a manual release according to FIG. 9 and in the other case an emergency release by the monitoring sensor A '.

When the user 10 leaves the sitting position shown in Fig. 8, the touch sensor B and the monitoring sensor A 'are turned on. The user 10 will now trigger the already established full flush by approaching his hand to the touch sensor C. If he fails to do so, a purging will be triggered automatically when the monitoring sensor A 'leaves. The flushing device thus distinguishes between a standing and a seated use of the toilet system and flushes expediently with a partial or full flush, so that optimal and independent of the behavior of the user rinse water is saved. By the mentioned switching on and off of sensors also the consumption of electrical energy is optimal, so that the purging device can be operated with a battery.
