Dieses Gehäuse 60 umschliesst beidseitig der Giessrollen die Achsen und auch den Antrieb 66 der Abdichtungen 62. Bandgiessmaschine zur Erzeugung eines Metallbandes, mit zwei nebeneinander angeordneten, einen Giessspalt (15') bildenden, mit je einer Mantelbreite versehenen Giessrollen (22, 24), an welchen stirnseitig Seitenabdichtungen (25) angeordnet sind, auf einem Maschinenständer (32) drehbar gelagert und von wenigstens einem Motor angetrieben sind, wobei die zwischen diesen Giessrollen (22, 24) und den Seitenabdichtungen (25) durch wenigstens ein Giessrohr (13) oder dergleichen einfüllbare Metallschmelze von mindestens einem gasförmigen Medium geschützt ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass wenigstens die Giessrollen (22, 24) mindestens jeweils über ihre Mantelbreite und Stirnseiten und die Seitenabdichtungen (25) von einem vorzugsweise mehrteiligen Gehäuse (30, 60, 80) umgeben sind.1.
