Abstract

A golf club includes a head formed of metal and having a face (2) with a center (2a) having an average crystal grain size smaller at a rear side than at a front side. The face (2) as seen in cross section has a first region (7a) having a relatively large average crystal grain size and a second region (7b) having a relatively small average crystal grain size. The second region (7b) extends from the center (2a) at the rear side to a periphery (2b) at the front side.
