Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a fuel pump for a Fuel system of an internal combustion engine, with a Housing, with at least one piston, with drive means to drive the piston, with an insert in which the Piston is guided with an inward Recess in the housing in which the insert is received and which is a sloping ring shoulder has a shoulder complementary to the ring shoulder is applied, and with a plastic material deformation on Housing through which use with the paragraph attached the ring shoulder is held.
A piston pump is known from DE 197 47 851 A1, whose piston is guided in a liner. This is again inserted in a stepped bore in the housing. On Bottom of the liner is supported on a slope complementary slope of the hole in the housing. The Bore in the housing is through a cylindrical Sealing plug closed on the outside. The Sealing plug acts on the liner against the Sloping on the housing and is itself by caulking permanently held in the housing.
However, in the operation of the known piston pump demonstrated that it cannot always be excluded that the press fit between the liner and the housing loosens over time. This leads to undesirable ones Noise, undesirable leakage and, in the worst case to a complete failure of the piston pump.
The present invention therefore has the task of a To create fuel pump of the type mentioned in the introduction, which has the longest possible lifespan.
This task is the beginning of a fuel pump mentioned type in that at least one End face of the insert so sized and matched is aimed that the use in operation by the resulting hydraulic force axially inward with the Paragraph is applied against the ring shoulder and the plastic material deformation only axially inwards on the Use acts so that by hydraulic power is relieved.
The fuel pump according to the invention has the advantage that the plastic material deformation, which the use in maintains its optimal operating position, none in operation is subject to additional loads. In the cheapest Case, the function of plastic Limit material deformation to a falling out of the To prevent use from the recess. Because therefore only very low forces on plastic material deformation work, there is no fear of reshaping, which too would lead to a loosening of the mission.
Because of the axial load on the insert Hydraulic force is interacting with the oblique sloping ring shoulder and the complementary heel also an ongoing and constant self-centering of the Use in the recess causes. The stake is thus always in its optimal position in which the Wear and noise are minimal. Overall, the measures according to the invention Fuel pump life extended.
Advantageous further developments of the invention Fuel pumps are specified in subclaims.
For example, it is suggested that the plastic Material deformation, caulking and / or flaring includes. Such material deformation is simple manufacture. Also the essential for the invention Property that the material deformation is only axially inward acts on the stake, is in a caulking and / or easy to implement a flare.
In a particularly preferred development of fuel pump according to the invention is the angle between the conical ring surface of the ring shoulder on the housing or the Tapered ring surface of the shoulder on the insert opposite the Longitudinal axis of the recess is less than or equal to 30 °, so that there is a self-locking between housing and insert results. Through such an angular range also prevents the insert from moving out of the Can solve the recess in the housing. This also leads to relieving plastic material deformation.
The inventive have a particularly advantageous effect Measures taken with a fuel pump in which the Housing is made of aluminum and the insert is made of steel. Aluminum, in particular, is sloping in the long run Stress to a certain "creep". Such one However, the plastic material deformation would creep at least partially undo and thereby a Allow loosening of the insert.
However, if, as with the fuel pump according to the invention, the plastic material deformation by the hydraulic When the force is released, the creep does not occur at all or only to a limited extent on what the lifespan of the Fuel pump extended. At the same time, the weight the fuel pump due to the aluminum housing relative low, what the area of application of the fuel pump is cheap.

The angle between the tapered ring surface of the annular shoulder 44
