Abstract

A biodegradable covering paper for lavatory pan has a roundish laminar body (10) obtained from a sheet of biodegradable material and comprises a central opening (4) in such a way that, when the covering paper is applied to adhere to the inner walls of a lavatory pan, the central opening (4) of the covering paper is positioned in correspondence with the discharge conduct of the lavatory pan where the pan narrows and the level of water begins.
The covering paper is designed to be removed into the sewer with the corporal wastes when a flushing system is operated.

Description

The present invention relates to a biodegradable covering paper for lavatory pan.
As known, when a lavatory pan is used for the evacuation of faeces the inner walls thereof are soiled. The lavatory pan is cleaned by a stream of water flowing down when the suitable flushing system is operated after use. Soaps with abraders in tablets, if any, are used with the stream of water. Such soaps are positioned in the lavatory pan and, when lapped by the water, release an active lather into the stream of water, allowing the lavatory pan to be cleaned and perfumed. However often this is not sufficient to make the inner walls of lavatory pan shining, and then a suitable brush is necessary to remove soiled residues from the wall surfaces.
This last operation is obviously rather unpleasant, even if it is generally performed by the same person who has just used the lavatory pan. Of course the operation is particularly disgusting for maids employed in private houses, and for employees in cleaning public water closets.
In view of these troubles, an object of this invention is to prevent a manual cleaning operation after the use of a lavatory pan.
Therefore, the invention provides a biodegradable covering paper for lavatory pan having a seat edge, inner walls, a discharge conduct, and a flushing system to remove corporal wastes into a sewer, characterized in that the covering paper is constituted by a roundish laminar body obtained from a sheet of biodegradable material and comprises a central opening in such a way that, when the covering paper is applied to adhere to the inner walls of a lavatory pan, the central opening of the covering paper is positioned in correspondence with the discharge conduct of the lavatory pan where the pan narrows and the level of water begins; the covering paper being designed to be removed into the sewer with the corporal wastes when the flushing system is operated.
Preferably the biodegradable material of the covering paper according to the invention is cellucotton, or also paper or different.
The roundish periphery of the covering paper according to the invention is such that the covering paper fits to any concave shape of lavatory pan.
The covering paper according to the invention can be industrially made. It can be packaged in single envelopes or plural items thereof can be put in one packet, as for paper handkerchiefs. Alternatively, the covering papers can be tied by a pre-punched knurling and then packaged in rolls to be detached by pulling one by one.
It should be appreciated that a covering paper according to the invention is functional, practical, hygienic and, in the same time, respectful of the environment in virtue of the material which is made of.
The invention will be described more in details with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
  • Fig. 1 is a diagrammatic plan view of a first embodiment of a covering paper according to the invention;
  • Fig. 2 is a diagrammatic perspective view of a second embodiment of a covering paper according to the invention;
  • Fig. 3 is a diagrammatic axial cross section of a lavatory pan inside which a second embodiment of a covering paper has been applied;
  • Fig. 4 is a diagrammatic plan view of a third embodiment of a covering paper according to the invention; and
  • Fig. 5 is a diagrammatic perspective view of a roll package of covering papers according to the invention.
  • With reference to Fig. 1, that is a diagrammatic view of a first embodiment of the covering paper according to the invention, it is constituted by a laminar body 1 made of biodegradable material such as cellucotton, paper or the other. The laminar body 1 has an external roundish periphery 2 and a central opening 3. This particular configuration allows the covering paper to be shaped as a funnel and to be adherent to the concave form of a lavatory pan, when it is applied to it by a simple operation. The central opening 3 extending downwards limiting substantially the level of water in the lavatory pan. The covering paper could be submerged by the water, according to the size of the lavatory pan.
    In a second embodiment indicated in general as 10 and shown in Fig. 2, the external periphery 14 of the covering paper is analogously roundish, and the central opening is a die-cut, U-shaped opening 4 from which a strip 12 is hung from the laminar body of the covering paper.
    When a covering paper according to this second embodiment is applied to the lavatory pan 13, as shown in Fig. 3, that is an axial cross section of the same, the covering paper 10, represented by a dash line, adheres to the internal walls 16 of the lavatory pan and the central opening 4 is positioned in correspondence with the discharge conduct 15 of the lavatory pan. The strip 12 is opened automatically when faeces pass and adheres also to the internal wall of the lavatory pan that is submerged by water.
    In a third embodiment of the invention shown in Fig. 4, a covering paper 100 is extended more than the one in the other embodiments and has a central opening 30 and a circumferential rim 5 designed to be put on the superior edge 9 of a lavatory pan. In this way also the seat of the lavatory pan is protected, and this is particularly useful in public water closets.
    The covering paper in the above described embodiment thereof is designed to be flushed away into the sewer with faeces when the flushing devices is operated. The stream of water removes all, and the inner walls of the pan will remain fully cleaned as they are protected by the covering paper.
    The covering paper according to the invention can be packed in several ways: individually, folded and housed in a respective package, more items in one packet, or rolled.
    The last package is shown in Fig. 5, that is a perspective view of a roll of covering papers. Plural covering papers 10 are tied subsequently by a pre-punched knurling 6 and then rolled. In use the covering papers 10 are detached by pulling one by one.
