Abstract

A turning bar arrangement for redirecting the path of travel of a material web utilizes at least one turning bar and at least one register roller. The web of material is caused to be enwrapped about both and extends between both to define a plane. When viewed in a direction perpendicular to this plane, the turning bar and the register roller do not overlap.

Description

The invention relates to a turning bar arrangement and method for deflecting a web according to the preamble of claim 1 or 9.

In rotary printing machines material webs, especially paper webs are printed in general, the width of which is a multiple of the width of the finished printed product. In order to produce the finished printed product from the printed web, it is necessary to cut this web into a plurality of sub-webs, which are initially performed parallel to each other, but must be superimposed, then to the finished printed product, usually by folding in longitudinal and Cross direction and cross cutting, to be further processed.
When cross-cutting the superimposed material webs, it is important that printed pages on the individual material webs are aligned exactly in phase with each other, so that when cutting across all material webs are severed at a boundary between two sides. For this purpose, register rollers are used whose adjustability makes it possible to adjust the length of the path of a material web through the turning bar arrangement in each case so that come to lie on the different paths pages that are to be processed to a signature exactly above the other.

An example of such a turning bar arrangement is known from US 37 34 487 A. This turning bar arrangement comprises a first turning bar, which is displaceable transversely to a feed direction of the material web to be deflected, and two register rolls and a register roll. The register roller is displaceable in a lying below the turning bar level. If a large number of material webs to be superimposed, so this is a stack of stacked Turning bar arrangements used. However, it is sufficient already a small number of übereinanderzulegenden material webs, so that this stack is übermannshoch in the known turner bar assembly, which considerably complicates their maintenance and retraction of the webs in a job change.

Dabei sind die Wendestangen und die Registerwalze überdeckungsfrei angeordnet.EP 0 342 491 A2 which is considered to be the next state of the art discloses a turner bar arrangement with a first turner bar wrapped around by a material web and a register roller wrapped around the material web. The turner bars and the register roller are arranged without overlapping.

Die US 34 34 639 A und die US 38 09 303 A zeigen Wendestangenanordnungen, wobei mehrere Wendestangen von einer Materialbahn umschlungen sind und neben den Wendestangen Umlenkwalzen überdeckungskei angeordnet sind. The US 34 34 639 A and US 38 09 303 A show turner bar arrangements, wherein a plurality of turner bars are wrapped by a material web and in addition to the turning bars deflection rollers overlap Turkey are arranged.

Dabei sind an einem gemeinsamen schwenkbaren Halter zwei einseitig gelagerte Wendestangen angeordnet.DE 87 17 253 U1 a device for deflecting partial webs is known. In this case, two cantilevered turning bars are arranged on a common pivotable holder.

The invention has for its object to provide a turner bar assembly and method for deflecting a web.

The object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1 or 9.

The advantages achieved by the invention are in particular that the height of the turning bar assembly can be kept small, so that the number of turning bar arrangements that can be mounted one above the other within a predetermined height, is increased. Thus, the number of webs that can be superimposed in a stack of turner bar assemblies can be increased without the need for the stack to have a height that makes it one Operator difficult to reach individual turning bar arrangements of the stack to wait for them or feed a web.

A portion of the track extending between the first turning bar and the registration roller defines a first plane which is substantially horizontal in the conventional turning bar arrangements. Since the turning bar and the register roller do not overlap, as viewed from a direction perpendicular to this plane, they can be overlapped, as viewed from a direction parallel to the plane, so that the height can be reduced.

A particularly effective use of the available construction volume results when the first turning bar and the register roller are arranged on the same side of this first level.

If the register roller has a larger diameter than the first deflection bar, then the material web guided around the deflection bar and the register roller can be removed by crossing the deflection bar, without the need for additional deflection elements.

For a turning bar assembly with the direction of entry of the web parallel discharge direction, a second turning bar is required, and the web is suitably herumschlingbar in order around the first turning bar, the registration roller and the second turning bar.

If at least one of the two turning bars can be converted from an orientation parallel to the other turning bar into an orthogonal orientation, then this allows the turning bar arrangement to be operated optionally with parallel or antiparallel entry and exit directions.

A quick and accurate changeover of the orientation of the reversible turning bar is achieved when the turning bar is rotatable about an axis that intersects the turning bar at a distance from one of its longitudinal ends and at that longitudinal end a mark is placed in the parallel or orthogonal orientation with one of two complementary markings on a support of the turning bar can be brought into coincidence. So it is sufficient to check when adjusting the turning bar, the congruence of the markers to be sure that the turning bar is set exactly angle.

In addition, the precise adjustment of the turning bar is simplified if the markings have a spatial form and can be brought into positive engagement. With such a design, the engagement of the markings already guarantees an exact alignment of the turning bar, without having to laboriously check the alignment of an operator.

Fig. 1 shows a plan view of a turning bar assembly according to a first embodiment of the present invention. By suitable adjustment of the position of the markings 13 it can be ensured that the second turning bar 06 is exactly parallel to the first turning bar 07 in its position shown in FIG. 1 or, after pivoting the second turning bar 06 by 180 ° about the axis of the shank 09 and engaging the markers 13 is oriented exactly orthogonal to the first turning bar 07.

The carriers 03; 04 each have a connecting piece 08 for compressed air, which is passed through holes in the carrier 03 or 04 in the turning bar 06 and 07 and exits through holes on the peripheral surface of the turning bar 06 and 07, to an air cushion between the turning bar 06; 07 and a web of material wrapped around them 22 to form.

In each case laterally outside of the side frames 01, a register roller 14 and on the side of the second turning bar 06, a guide roller assembly 16 are mounted on the side of the first turning bar 07. The register roller 14 is mounted on a slide 17 slidable on a rail 18. A threaded body 19 fixedly connected to the sliding block 18 is engaged with a threaded rod 21 rotatably driven by a motor (not shown) for shifting the register roller 14 in the direction of the double arrow P. The registration roller 14 is disposed outside each of a predetermined by the respective side frame associated printing units level and outside a lying between the planes space.

The material web 22 is shown transparent in FIG. 1; only their edges are highlighted by thick solid lines. The web 22 is looped around the second turning bar 06, the Umtenkwalzenanordnung 16, the register roller 14 and the first turning bar 07 in order. For the purposes of the present description, it is assumed that it is moved in the direction of an arrow T; Of course, a movement in the opposite direction would be possible. An incoming portion 23 extends from the entrance of the turning bar assembly to the second turning bar 06. As can be seen in particular in Fig. 2, the web 22 wraps around the second turning bar 06 from top to bottom, reaches the Umlenkwalzenanordnung 16, is deflected there by 180 ° and extends at a small distance from the bottom of the second turning bar 06 across the entire turning bar assembly up to the top of the register roller 14. From the bottom of the register roller 14, a portion 26 of the web 22 extends in a plane E to the bottom of the first turning bar 07th The material web 22 wraps around the first turning bar 07 from bottom to top so that an outgoing section 24 of the material web 22 finally leaves the turning bar arrangement starting from the top of the turning bar 07.

As you can easily see, the arrangement of the guide roller assembly 16 and the register roller 14 allows laterally offset beyond the side frames 01 and outside the range of movement of the turning bars 06, 07 along the guide rails 02 to keep the height of the turning bar assembly low. Since the diameter of the register roller 14 is greater than that of the first turning bar 07, both can be arranged on the same side of the plane E, which contributes to a further reduction of the height. Since both the registration roller 14 and the first turning bar 07 are above the plane E defined by the section 26 of the web 22 extending between the register roller 14 and the first turning bar 07, the height difference between the incoming and outgoing sections 23, 24 can be even lower are held, as it corresponds to the height of the turning bar assembly.

Fig. 3 shows a highly schematic of a stack in which a plurality of turning bar assemblies 27 of the type shown in Figs. 1 and 2 are arranged one above the other, as seen from the direction of the arrow IV in Fig. 1. The stack here comprises four superimposed turner bar assemblies 27, their Number can also be larger or smaller. Each turner bar assembly 27 is a tension roller assembly 28 for holding second web webs 22; 29, which are fed in parallel by a cutter (not shown). The material web 22 is guided via the turning bar assembly 27 to a first guide roller 31, the second web 29 goes from the tension roller assembly 28 directly to a guide roller 32. With the help of the turning bar assembly 27, the lateral offset between the two webs material 22; 29 balanced, so that they can be fed with exactly overlapping edges and, by suitable adjustment of the position of the register roller 14, also in phase with each other (not shown) folder for folding and cutting.

24 ist bei dieser Variante minimal.4 shows a second embodiment of the turning bar arrangement, seen in the same perspective as in FIG. 2. In the embodiment of FIG. 4, the incoming section 23 of the material web 22 is brought to the underside of the second turning bar 06, wraps it around from below above, then rounds from top to bottom a guide roller 33, which replaces the guide roller assembly 16 of FIG. 2, reaches the displaceable in the direction of the arrow P register roller 14 and extends therefrom as described with reference to FIG. The height difference between incoming and outgoing section 23 and 24 is minimal in this variant.

As in the second embodiment of FIG. 4, elements corresponding to elements of the first embodiment are here, and with reference to FIG and 2 already described, designated by the same reference numeral and not described again. In this third embodiment, the height of the turning bar assembly is further reduced by both turning bars 06; 07 are arranged in a same plane E. Inlet and outlet section 23; 24 are at the same level. The carrier (not visible in FIG. 5) 03; 04 are mounted on a single guide profile 02. While in the two variants described above, the two turning bars 06; 07 can be moved as close as possible to each other and even can be moved over each other away, this is not possible in the variant of FIG. 5. However, a substantial limitation in the usability is not associated therewith, since webs of material 22 which are to be superimposed by means of the turning bar arrangement are in most cases part webs obtained from a unitary web by longitudinal cutting and, in order to be able to lay them over one another, at least their own width must be moved. The required distance of the turning bars 06; 07 can also be easily adjusted in this third embodiment. In order to use the embodiment of FIG. 5 for parallel displacement of a web optionally in opposite directions, it is sufficient that both turning bars 06; 07 as with reference to FIG. 1 for described the second turning bar 06, are reversible, so that the turning bar assembly can be converted into its mirror image.

All turner bars 06; 07, deflection rods 16; 33 and the register rollers 14 are preferably formed as a cantilever, ie only one end is mounted.
