More specifically, seats 24 are arranged in a number of transverse rows corresponding with the rows of cavities 4.
  • Connector 1 also comprises lock means 25 interposed between the outer portion of casing 3 and movable member 21 to respectively define, in succession in direction C, a preassembly position ( Figures 3 and 4) wherein movable member 21 permits insertion of terminals 5 inside respective cavities 4, and a fully assembled position ( Figures 1, 2 and 5) achievable when terminals 5 are engaged correctly by lances 17.

  • Openings 28, 29 on each arm 30 of movable member 21 are engaged successively in direction C by the relative tooth 26 on casing 3 to define the preassembly position and fully assembled position of movable member 21 respectively.

  • Each tooth 26 is also defined by two opposite lateral sides 38, which extend, parallel to each other, along most of the length of tooth 26, and comprise, towards rear wall 9 of inner portion 8, respective end portions 39 converging with each other and having the same slope as respective lateral walls 33 of end portion 32 of relative opening 28, so that each tooth 26 comprises, towards rear wall 9 of inner portion 8 of casing 3, an end portion 40 tapering in cross section and which fits inside end portion 32 of respective opening 28 when movable member 21 is moved in direction B from the preassembly position.
  • Each opening 29 has a constant rectangular cross section.
  • Connector 1 is assembled as described below, starting from an initial condition in which terminals 5 are housed inside respective cavities 4, and movable member 21 of secondary retaining device 20 is set to the preassembly position ( Figures 3 and 4), i.e. with teeth 26 of inner portion 8 of casing 3 engaging respective openings 28 on arms 30 of movable member 21.

Claims (8)

  1. Connecteur électrique (1) comprenant :
    une enveloppe isolante (3) définissant un certain nombre de cavités (4) pour loger des bornes électriques respectives (5) ;
    des moyens de retenue primaires (17) pour retenir à l'intérieur lesdites bornes (5), et empêcher le retrait des bornes desdites cavités respectives (4) ;
    des moyens de retenue secondaires (20) comprenant au moins un élément mobile (21) pouvant être connecté à ladite enveloppe (3) dans une première direction (C) pour déterminer une mise en prise correcte desdites bornes (5) par lesdits moyens de retenue primaires (17), et pour empêcher la libération des bornes ; et
    des moyens de verrouillage (25) interposés entre ladite enveloppe (3) et ledit élément mobile (21) pour définir respectivement, dans ladite première direction (C), une position de préassemblage dans laquelle ledit élément mobile (21) permet l'insertion desdites bornes (5) à l'intérieur desdites cavités respectives (4), et une position entièrement assemblée pouvant être obtenue lorsque lesdites bornes (5) sont mises en prise correctement par lesdits moyens de retenue primaires (17) ;
       lesdits moyens de verrouillage (25) comprenant au moins un premier et un deuxième éléments de verrou (28, 29) portés par l'un de ladite enveloppe (3) et dudit élément mobile (21), et au moins un troisième élément de verrou (26) porté par l'autre de ladite enveloppe (3) et dudit élément mobile (21) et qui vient en prise de manière sélective avec ledit premier et ledit deuxième éléments de verrou (28, 29) pour définir respectivement ladite position de préassemblage et ladite position entièrement assemblée dudit élément mobile (21) ;
       ledit premier et ledit troisième éléments de verrou (28, 26) définissant une jonction de verrou (31) dans une deuxième direction (B) opposée à ladite première direction (C), pour empêcher un retrait total dudit élément mobile (21) de ladite enveloppe (3) ;
       ledit premier et ledit troisième éléments de verrou (28, 26) comprenant respectivement une première ouverture (28) et une dent (26) ;
       caractérisé en ce que ladite jonction de verrou (31) comprend une partie d'extrémité (32) de ladite première ouverture (28) dont la section va en s'amincissant dans ladite première direction (C) pour verrouiller ladite dent (26) dans ladite deuxième direction (B).
  2. Connecteur selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ledit premier et ledit deuxième éléments de verrou (28, 29) sont portés par ledit élément mobile (21) ; et en ce que ledit troisième élément de verrou (26) est porté par une paroi (27) de ladite enveloppe (3).
  3. Connecteur selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que ledit élément mobile (21) comprend une plaque (22) qui met en prise ladite enveloppe (3) dans ladite première direction (C) et dans une position perpendiculaire à la première direction (C) ; et en ce que ledit premier et ledit deuxième éléments de verrou (28, 29) sont portés par un bras (30) qui fait saillie perpendiculairement à partir de ladite plaque (22).
  4. Connecteur selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que ladite partie d'extrémité (32) de ladite première ouverture (28) est définie par deux parois latérales (33) en pente par rapport auxdites première et deuxième directions (C, B) et convergent l'une vers l'autre dans la première direction (C).
  5. Connecteur selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que ladite dent (26) comprend une partie d'extrémité (40) possédant une section complémentaire de la section de ladite partie d'extrémité (32) de ladite première ouverture (28).
  6. Connecteur selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce que ladite partie d'extrémité (40) de ladite dent (26) est définie par deux surfaces latérales en pente (39) possédant la même pente que lesdites parois latérales respectives (33) qui définissent ladite partie d'extrémité (32) de ladite première ouverture (28).
  7. Connecteur selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que ladite dent (26) est définie par des surfaces d'extrémité opposées en forme de rampe (36, 37) pour permettre audit élément mobile (21) de se déplacer entre ladite position de préassemblage et ladite position entièrement assemblée.
  8. Connecteur selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que ledit deuxième élément de verrou est défini par une deuxième ouverture (29).
