- the circuit carrier arrangement 2 can also consist of two separate parts 2a and 2b exist, for example by a solder connection before the ignition of the pyrotechnic Active mass 3 are connected and due to the heat development melts during the burn.
- the solder joint (s) as an alternative embodiment of the The separation point (s) 23 must be dimensioned so that they are both mechanical as well as thermal requirements in motor vehicle operation and also that Ignition current can lead to the ignition bridge 1 without melting.
- the Burning of the pyrotechnic active mass 3 released amount of heat clearly above these loads, the plumbing can with certainty dimensions are melted, especially since a melting of the solder joint is sufficient to achieve the Forwarding of forces from pyrotechnics area A to electronics area B to prevent the circuit carrier arrangement 2.
- the circuit carrier arrangement 2 in FIG. 1 is also preferably in the pyrotechnics area A is at least partially enveloped by a pressure-absorbing material 4, which is softer than the material of the protective wall 7c or the casing 5 in Electronics area B.
- This pressure absorbing material 4 for example a soft globe top, protects both by its certain plastic or elastic deformability part 2a of the carrier arrangement 2 located in the pyrotechnics area A as well as the Protective wall 7c or the casing 5, the pressure resistance of which is therefore lower dimensioned or the overall security can be further increased.
- This pressure-absorbing material 4 is so elastic that at least when exceeded the limit load on the pyrotechnic part 2a of the circuit carrier arrangement 2 the separation points are severed.
- FIGS. 4 and 5 now show an alternative mounting form of the ignition device with an ignition element 10 with a separate carrier body 11, which here on a transversely extending circuit carrier arrangement 2 is arranged, the Ignition electronics module 6 on the circuit carrier arrangement 2 here by a Protective wall 7c is additionally protected.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an ignition element for pyrotechnic active materials on a
Circuit carrier arrangement with an ignition electronics module according to the
Preamble of
Ignition elements for pyrotechnic active materials have one by applying an electrical voltage ignitable wire on a circuit carrier assembly is arranged, which in turn is also an electronic ignition module to provide the ignition energy and to communicate with a data bus has, such as DE 44 35 319 A1, DE 196 10 799 C1 or WO 97/21067 can be seen. Instead of the wire, there is an increasingly ignitable layer used, which have always been deposited on the circuit carrier arrangement as can be seen from EP 0 555 651 B1 or DE 196 29 104 C1.
Die DE 199 40 201 C1 schlägt zur weiteren Integration vor, die Oberfläche eines Bauelements, vorzugsweise des Zündkondensators, als Schaltungsträger zu verwenden und auf dieser Oberfläche durch Abscheiden von Leiterbahnen und Aufbringen der weiteren Bauelemente einschließlich einer Zündschicht eine äußerst kompakte Bauform zu erreichen.DE 199 40 201 C1 proposes the surface of a for further integration Component, preferably the ignition capacitor, as a circuit carrier use and on this surface by depositing conductor tracks and Application of the other components including an ignition layer is extremely to achieve a compact design.
However, all of these ignition devices have the problem of being a manufacturer such an ignition device both the assembly of the circuit carrier arrangement as well as the ignition bridge layer, often even the entire pyrotechnics assemble and meet the corresponding safety requirements. Just however, the pyrotechnics sector requires particularly high security requirements and special devices for assembly and assembly.
In addition, ignition devices with a structural separation from Pyrotechnics and electronics, for example from DE 40 02 088 C1 or DE 198 36 280 C1, in which between pyrotechnics and Ignition area a protective wall is provided, which has electrical connections between the two areas. As a result, the electronics module can do well are protected and possibly also independent of the pyrotechnics area are produced, however, the functionality does not entirely by the manufacturer of the Electronics module are checked, since the ignition bridge yes in the pyrotechnics area must be arranged.
The object of the invention is to present an ignition element which is simple
is manufacturable and assemblable and manufacturing separation of pyrotechnics
and electronics enables without having to go through a full functional check
should be dispensed with. This object is achieved by the features of
The basic idea here is a separate one from the circuit carrier arrangement To use carrier body for the ignition element and the ignition element just not to be arranged directly on the circuit carrier arrangement. This contradicts that general efforts towards downsizing and more complex construction however, considerable advantages in terms of manufacture and functional reliability.
The carrier body of the ignition element is made in one piece from a non-conductive, heat-resistant and poorly heat-conducting material, e.g. glass or ceramic.
So this support body of its dimensions and its electrical Contacts to the assembly and electrical contacting machines in the Production of the ignition electronics module aligned on the circuit carrier arrangement and included, like a normal component on the Circuit carrier arrangement can be mounted. The pyrotechnically effective The electrical ignition layer itself is still safe for as long as it is does not come together with the pyrotechnic active mass. The circuit carrier arrangement can so completely including the ignition element in normal electrical assembly halls, as a finished assembly without any special Security measures are transported and stored and thus already at any time be fully checked for electrical functionality. The manufacturer of the finished circuit carrier arrangement can in turn be the ignition element Purchase supplies from a pyrotechnics specialist and do not need any to have special devices ready for their application or assembly. The Ignition element becomes independently tradable and interchangeable unit, what to leads to corresponding rationalization and specialization effects.
The carrier body is in turn protects the circuit carrier arrangement from the Influences of the erosion of the pyrotechnic active mass.
The carrier body also allows a variable mounting orientation Circuit carrier arrangement with respect to the pyrotechnic active mass, since the Ignition bridge on the carrier body not only on the top, but also on the side surface can be arranged and so a perpendicular from the pyrotechnic active mass running away arrangement of the circuit carrier arrangement is possible without the need for expensive sensors or contacts for the ignition element would be required.

Figure 1 shows a sectional view through a particularly preferred Design of the ignition device as used as an igniter for a gas generator Occupant protection device, for example an airbag, used in a motor vehicle shall be.
The ignition device consists of an
In contrast to a direct arrangement of the ignition bridge layer, the
seitlich umlaufenden Kontakten 12.FIG. 2 shows such an
The
Figure 3 outlines that the
Fig. 4)
The pyrotechnic area A of the ignition device is from the electronic area B
separated, the separation either by a
Elektronikbereich B.The
The
The
The
The
The
Figures 4 and 5 now show an alternative mounting form of the ignition device
with an
