Description

  • The present invention refers to an anchoring device for scaffolds and stages, especially of the type used in the construction and maintenance of buildings and building products in general.
  • It is known that scaffolds having a height exceeding a preset limit value require to be suitably anchored to the wall involved in the construction work in order to prevent them from oscillating to and from the same wall, or at least to limit the oscillation thereof within allowable values.
  • The main object of the present invention is an anchoring device for scaffolds or simple stages which is cost-effective and reliable.
    This result has been achieved, according to the invention, by providing a device having the characteristics indicated in claim 1. Further characteristics being set forth in the dependent claims.
  • The device according to the present invention is, as above mentioned, cost-effective and reliable even after a prolonged and repeated service life, as well as simple to make. Moreover, the present device can be used, that is, handled, with extreme simplicity and adjusted each time in relation to the specific assembly requirements.
  • These and other advantages and characteristics of the invention will be best understood by anyone skilled in the art from a reading of the following description in conjunction with the attached drawings given as a practical exemplification of the invention, but not to be considered in a limitative sense, wherein:
    • Fig. 1A is a side view of a device according to the present invention in operating condition;
    • Fig. 1B is a view similar to Fig. 1A but relating to a further embodiment of said device;
    • Fig. 1C relates to an enlarged detail of the drawings in Figs. 1A and 1B;
    • Fig. 2A is a top plan view of a jaw of an anchoring clamp shown in Fig. 1C;
    • Fig. 2B is a bottom plan view of the detail in Fig. 2A;
    • Fig. 2C is a view in section, taken on line A-A, of the detail in Fig. 2A;
    • Fig. 2D is a side view of the detail in Fig. 2A;
    • Fig. 3A is a top plan view of the other jaw of the anchoring clamp shown in Fig. 1C;
    • Fig. 3B is a side view of the detail in Fig. 3A.
  • Reduced to its basic structure, and reference being made to the figures of the attached drawings, a device according to the invention comprises a rigid rod (1) of a preset length. This rod, which in use acts as a tie and a strut as well, may consist, for example, of a tubular metal element of a type usually employed in the formation of scaffolds. The said rod (1) is to be connected on one side to any scaffold element (P), such as an upright (M) and, on the opposite side, to an attachment element (2) fixed to the wall (PA) for the anchorage of the scaffold (P).
    Said element (2) may be made up, for example, of a hook having one end shaped as an eyelet (20) and the end opposite to the eyelet (20) being screwed into an expansion plug (T) positioned beforehand in the wall (PA) at a preset point thereof. Such a hook is known per se to those skilled in the art and will not therefore be described in greater detail.
    To connect the rod (1) to the scaffold (P) use can be made, for example, of a clamp (3) of a type normally used in the formation of scaffolds, that is, of the type comprising two jaws which are clamped together on opposite sides on the elements to be connected, the tightening of the jaws being made with the use of screw means.
  • The engagement of the rod (1) with the eyelet (20) of said element (2) is carried out by means of an attachment body (40) exhibited by a second clamp (4) tightened on the rod (1) at a preset point thereof, as best described later on. The said second clamp (4) is substantially similar, from a structural point of view, to the conventional clamp (3) allowing the anchorage of the rod (1) to the scaffold (P), except that it has an appendix (40) which is to be inserted into said eyelet (20). The second clamp (4) is in fact made up of a first jaw element (45), located on top in the example of Fig. 1C, and of a second jaw element (44) provided with said appendix (40). The two jaw elements are conventionally associated with each other by screw means (5) going through suitable seats (46, 48, 49) formed on the two jaw elements (44, 45). In particular, as best seen in Fig. 3A, one of the two seats (47, 48) provided on the first element (45) can be defined by a recess (48) able to facilitate the exit of the screw means (5) when mounting and dismounting the clamp (4).
    The said appendix (40) of clamp (4) may have solid circular section of a diameter consistent with the internal one of eyelet (20), and can be welded to one of the jaws of the same clamp or be cast together with the jaw element which is part of.
  • The length of the rod (1) can be different, depending on the type being used. In the example of Fig. 1A, the rod (1) has such a length as to allow the fitting thereof to the upright (M) closer to the wall (PA) and to ensure a predetermined resistance to the applied force; by way of example, a rod thus long can be used for normal anchorages of generic surfaces being dimensioned for a force of ±650 daN acting orthogonally to the front.
  • In the example of Fig. 1B, the rod (1) is longer and such as to allow it to be attached both to the upright (M) closer to wall (PA) and to outermost upright (M'), so as to ensure a higher resistance to the applied force; by way of example, a rod of such length, attached by means of two clamps (3) to the uprights (M, M'), can be used for special anchorages of surfaces interested by particular structures (such as gravel guards or other like) being dimensioned for a force of ±950 daN acting orthogonally to the front.
  • The present device can be used as follows.
    A possible example of implementation provides, as a first step for the device's attachment, making a hole of suitable dimensions in the wall (PA) and inserting the relevant plug (T) therein. Then, screwing the hook (2) into the plug until the correct coupling is reached. A this point, introducing the appendix (40) into the eyelet (20) of hook (2) and, afterwards, tightening the clamp (4) onto the rod (1). Once the rod (1) is fixedly united to the clamp (4) and, consequently, to the hook (2), the same rod is secured rearwardly to the scaffold (P) in correspondence either of the internal upright (M) only, as in the example of Fig. 1A, or of both uprights (M, M'), as in the example of Fig. 1B.
  • A further example of implementation may provide for tightening the clamp (4) in advance onto the rod (1) and inserting the appendix (40) into the eyelet (20) with the rod (1) and the clamp (4) already made solid to each other, and then completing the assembly by fixing the rod (1) to the scaffold (P).
    In practice, the rod (1) results provided with means for its connection with the scaffold (p) to be anchored, and with means for attachment to the anchoring wall (PA), the said attachment means being able to slide longitudinally onto the body of the rod (1) and be locked thereon in relation to the distance between the scaffold (P) and the wall (PA), that is, depending on the distance between the scaffold (P) and the hooks (2) fixed to the wall (PA).
