The invention relates to the field of technical textiles and more particularly textiles with mechanical characteristics conferring properties of resistance to laceration or detection of a attempted laceration, hereinafter called anti-laceration properties. The invention finds very specific applications in the field of tarpaulins in general, when the textile is used in combination with a coated canvas for example. She also finds application when the textile is used as such for serve as cladding for buildings or more generally as a vertical wall, partition, or separation in constructions.

The need to give tarpaulins anti-laceration properties, including trucks, has led to the appearance of different technical solutions.

Thus, it has already been proposed to produce tarpaulins by complexing a textile with a metal mesh made of sheathed strip. This solution presents multiple drawbacks and in particular the fact that, despite the use of a mesh fairly open (with a typical mesh size of 100 mm x 100 mm) and with little of metallic material, this mesh very rigidly stiffens the cover, and makes it very difficult to handle when covering the truck. In addition, the complexed wire mesh generally appears from the outside of the tarp, which means that the protection is not really concealed, and suggests that the truck is intended for transport valuable goods.

It has also been proposed to produce truck tarpaulins by making the coating of a textile composed either entirely of metallic cables, or incorporating metallic cables woven with other synthetic cables. These solutions also have many disadvantages. When the textile is made up of warp and weft of sufficiently strong cables and sufficiently meshed to resist laceration, the relief of the armor is very important, which necessarily leads to deposit on each side of the textile metal a large amount of coating to, at a minimum, cover the crest of son. Such coated textile is very heavy and practically impossible to handle during tarpaulin operations of the truck especially when it is cold. It is also relatively complex to cut and make. In addition, the cables reinforcement metal being incorporated inside the tarpaulin, it is necessary to decline a whole range of different references to meet to the thickness and color wishes of different users looking for a new equipment. For the existing fleet of tarpaulin trucks, this solution requires to completely replace the tarpaulins in operation, even those that are weakly used. In addition, when a laceration cutting the cables appears, it is necessary to replace the entire wall of the tarpaulin, no repairs being possible.

Environmentally, this type of textile construction makes it very difficult recycling materials due to the difficulty of separating the metal cables synthetic materials that surround them.

Finally, there is generally no need to strengthen the entire height of a truck tarpaulin, but only accessible parts. The use of a textile with metallic reinforcing cables on the entire height of the tarpaulin, unnecessarily increases the cost of the latter, and the makes it difficult to make, as already mentioned.

A problem which the invention therefore proposes to solve is that of reinforcement of tarpaulins without making garment operations difficult and complex. Another problem which the invention seeks to solve is that of ability to impart anti-laceration properties to a wide variety of textiles, especially with regard to their mechanical characteristics, their dimensions , their colors, and their markets for use.

The same need for anti-laceration properties exists for elements similar to tarps that are siding, and more generally the different textile elements used in architecture to form exterior walls of tents, partitions or coverings. In this case, the textile elements can be waterproof as are the tarpaulins of the truck, but still openwork for allow the passage of light or maintain visibility through.

Exposé de l'inventionStatement of the invention

The invention therefore relates to a technical textile having anti-laceration properties.

According to the invention, such a textile is characterized in that it is produced from synthetic cables sheathed with a polymer material such as polyvinyl chloride, in that it comprises in chain and weft metallic cables sheathed with a polymer material of a different color from that of a polymer material for sheathing synthetic cables, and in that the metallic warp and weft cables are regularly spaced apart by a distance of less than 80 millimeters.

In other words, the invention consists in using as an anti-laceration textile a textile made from sheathed cables among which are some cables metallic, which thus define a square mesh whose side is sufficiently small to prevent the passage of the hand. In this way, the laceration carried out with a sharp tool will be blocked by metal cables, and dimensions maximum on which the textile can be cut will be insufficient for pass the hand or arm of the criminal.

The use of a polymer material of a different color for cables synthetic and metallic reinforcement cables helps locate precisely these reinforcement cables and therefore position them so appropriate to the area to be protected.

This PVC sheathing can be obtained by extrusion or by coating. This cladding is of course not limited to PVC and could be made in polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), silicone or other synthetic material with ad hoc properties.

Advantageously in practice, the metallic cables can be cables based on carbon steel wires, having a very good breaking strength, typically greater than 50 kilograms per square millimeter, and preferably 350 kg / mm 2 .

The employment of sons of polyester gives resistance to the areas between the cables metal reinforcement, as well as good compatibility with the coating PVC.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the textile may include in the warp or weft direction of electrically conductive wires sheathed in a material polymer such as polyvinyl chloride of a color different from that of polymeric sheathing material for synthetic cables and metallic cables. In other words, the fabric comprises evenly distributed conductive threads regularly on the fabric. When these conductive wires are cut after a laceration attempt, the electrical circuit in which these wires are inserted is therefore open, which therefore makes it possible to detect and report the attempted laceration. The use of a conductor sheathed with PVC of a different color from the others wires facilitate connection operations with control devices.

In practice, the electrically conductive wires can be chosen from the group comprising wires based on nickel alloys and stainless steel wires.

In practice, the electrically conductive wires are regularly spaced apart by a distance less than 300 millimeters and preferably 50 millimeters.

In a particular embodiment, the metallic cables intended to resist mechanically lacerated can also be used for their properties conduction of electricity. In other words, we advantageously use as electrical conductors metal cables intended to resist laceration.

In a particular form, the electrical conductors can be connected in series at the edges of the textile, so as to form a continuity electrical and a single electrical circuit for textiles. Metal cables mechanically resistant can be electrically connected to cables conductors, to be integrated into the electrical detection circuit.

Advantageously, the textile can then be associated with a measuring device the electrical resistance of the conductive wires, possibly associated with the cables metal. As soon as this resistance turns out to be too high, because the current traversing the electrical wires becomes void following a successful laceration, this means that at least one wire has been cut, and that an attempt to laceration therefore took place.

The textile according to the invention can be used either alone or by incorporation into a textile complex of which it constitutes one of the layers. In this last case, it can be advantageously combined with a coated textile to form a tarpaulin for example from a truck, which is reinforced only in the area where the characteristic layer is present. It is thus possible to reinforce only the lower part of a tarpaulin truck and leave the upper part of the tarpaulin free protective layer, and therefore lighter.

It is also possible to use the textile according to the invention under the form of ribbon, or bands of relatively small width to form laceration resistant straps. In this case, these bands can be arranged in appropriate places in the textile complex to provide protection localized tarpaulin.

Description sommaire des figuresBrief description of the figures

  • Figure 1 is a schematic view of a textile produced according to the invention, associated with a loop opening detection device.
  • Figure 2 is a summary perspective view of the interior of a truck trailer equipped with a tarpaulin incorporating the textile according to the invention, according to two different embodiments.
  • Manière de réaliser l'inventionWay of realizing the invention

As already mentioned, the invention relates to a textile having properties anti-laceration, which can be used either alone or in combination with another textile, in particular for forming tarpaulins and in particular truck tarpaulins.

Such a textile (1) includes in its chain direction polyester cables (2) sheathed in PVC and metallic cables (3) also sheathed in PVC.

More specifically, and in a particular embodiment, the cables are made of 1100 dtex high tenacity polyester yarns. These cables are sheathed of a classic PVC sheath.

The metallic cables (3) used consist of wires based on steel at carbon, of the type used in radial tire carcasses. These steel cables have a breaking strength greater than 350 kilos per square millimeter. These metal cables are sheathed in PVC. As already mentioned, the colors of PVC sheathing for polyester cables and metallic cables are different to visualize their position, and facilitate the operations of production and production of electric loops.

In the warp direction, the textile has 10 warp cables per centimeter and the metallic cables are laid out either singly or in groups of two or more to ensure increasing resistance to laceration. Cables are distant from each other by a distance of 45 millimeters.

In the weft direction, the textile according to the invention comprises cables for sheathed polyester (2), identical to those used for chain cables. he also includes sheathed metal cables (4) identical to those (3) used for chain cables. In the weft direction, the textile includes 10 cables polyester per centimeter. The metallic cables are arranged either alone or by groups of two or more to ensure increasing resistance to laceration. The metallic cables are separated by a distance d, also equal to 45 millimeters. This makes it possible to define a square mesh of 45 millimeters of side, narrow enough to prevent the passage of one hand.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the textile comprises also in the weft direction of the electrically conductive wires (6-9), which are advantageously wires of nickel alloys or varnished copper. These sons conductors (6-9) are distributed in the weft direction, and are distant by a distance D on the order of 45 millimeters. In a form not shown, the distances d and D can be equal, so that the resistant metal cables and wires alarm conductors are alternated.

In a particular embodiment, it is advantageous to use in weft as electric conductors metallic cables intended to resist laceration.

Of course, the values given above are only given by way of example, and the invention cannot be limited to this particular example alone. It covers at otherwise different variants with regard to cable composition metallic conductor wires and synthetic cables used between cables metal.

According to another characteristic of the invention, and as illustrated in FIG. 1, the electrical conductors (6-9) can be connected in series by portions conductive (10-12) located at the edges of the fabric. In this way, all of the wires conductors (6-9) form a circuit which can be connected to a measure (13). This measuring device can for example compare the resistance of the circuit (6-9) connected to it, and trigger an action when this resistance goes above a predetermined threshold signifying that the circuit has been cut, and that a laceration was therefore operated. This device can be connected to other organs control and command systems, and in particular alarms and / or reporting.

The textile illustrated in Figure 1 can be used as such, since all of the components, including the metal cables, are sheathed in PVC, and are therefore resistant to corrosion. They also do not expose the user to electrical risk, since the various conducting wires are also sheathed, and that the voltages used are in the "very low voltage" category.

As already mentioned, this textile can also be used in combination with another layer, to form a complex. This complex can include a tablecloth textile occupying the entire width or a partial width of the complex, such as illustrated in Figure 2. In this case, the textile (20) according to the invention can be associated with a tarpaulin (21) formed of a coated textile. This complexing can be obtained by various known methods, and in particular by heat sealing or by bonding.

In the form illustrated in FIG. 2, only the lower part of the sheet (22) is protected from vandalism but the full height of the tarpaulin can obviously be equipped with the reinforcement textile characteristic of the invention.

On one side of the tarpaulin illustrated in FIG. 2, the tarpaulin includes ribbons or strips (26) made from the textile according to the invention. These bands (26) have a width of between 5 and 40 centimeters. These ribbons or bands are obtained by cutting a larger width of the same textile or a denser textile according to the invention.

The width of these ribbons (26) is greater than the pitch separating the cables metallic (3, 4), to give the characteristic anti-laceration properties. In the case where the fabric includes conductive threads (6-9), this minimum width is greater than the pitch separating two conducting wires.

Bien que cela ne soit pas représenté, les différents textiles conformes à l'invention situés sur les bâches illustrées à la figure 2 peuvent être reliés à des dispositifs de détection tels qu'illustrés à la figure 1.Although not shown, the various textiles conforming to the invention located on the tarpaulins illustrated in Figure 2 can be connected to detection devices as illustrated in Figure 1.

It appears from the above that the textile according to the invention allows give tarpaulins or more generally anti-laceration properties existing textiles, thanks to a complexing which can be localized and optimized. The tarpaulins thus produced have on the one hand, the aesthetic properties linked to the production of tarpaulins as such, to which are added the properties anti-laceration provided by the reinforcement made of textile characteristic of the invention.

    Applications industriellesIndustrial applications

The textile according to the invention can be used in multiple applications. We can cite as an example the production of tarpaulins for trucks, association with other waterproof textiles. The textile according to the invention can also be used as cladding or more generally as an element of architecture as vertical walls partitions which must resist attempts laceration.

We can cite as an example the partitions used in airport areas to delimit the administrative boundaries, while authorizing the passage of the light and visibility through the bulkhead.
