Abstract

Eine Vorrichtung zum Reinigen von Abgasen eines Verbrennungsmotors besteht aus einem Wabenkörper (10) mit einem motornahen und einem motorfernen Ende und einer auf diesen Wabenkörper (10) aufgebrachten aktiven Beschichtung. Zur Verhinderung von Beschädigungen weist der Wabenkörper im Bereich des motornahen Endes wenigstens eine beschichtungsfrei Zone (18) auf. Die Herstellung einer solchen Vorrichtung kann durch ein mehrstufiges Eintauchen des Wabenkörpers (10) in flüssigen Washcoat (40) erfolgen.
