Abstract

An ink jet recording element comprising a support having thereon a porous image-receiving layer comprising particles and a poly(vinyl alcohol) binder, the particles comprising a fumed metallic oxide, and the binder having an average viscosity greater than 25 cp at 4% solids in an aqueous solution at 20°C and printing method using same.
