Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for extinguishing a fire with in rooms of a building, in particular a building or a ship.
Such systems are known for fire fighting in buildings. The supply line is at least partially filled in the rest position with pressurized extinguishing fluid. The supply line or the extinguishing nozzles connected to the supply line are equipped with valves which prevent unwanted escape of extinguishing fluid in the rest position. The valves open in case of fire automatically or remotely controlled by a control, so that extinguishing fluid can be discharged from the extinguishing nozzles.
The extinguishing nozzles may be formed in these systems such that the extinguishing nozzles are equipped with open nozzle inserts, which may be connected via channels formed in the extinguishing nozzles with the supply line. These nozzle inserts can be designed such that they act upon exposure to a produce a extinguishing mist under high pressure extinguishing fluid.
An advantage of such a filled system is that the volume of the filled supply line is used for storing the extinguishing fluid. In this way, the available storage energy and the capacity of the pressure vessels can be optimally utilized, in particular in systems in which the extinguishing fluid supply takes place via stored pressure energy. This makes it possible to use smaller pressure vessels, whereby a cost and space savings is achieved.
Compared to unfilled systems in which the supply line is idle at rest and is filled in the event of fire by the extinguishing fluid supply with extinguishing fluid, the filled systems offer the advantage that the time required for the unfilled systems for filling the supply line deleted. In filled systems, the extinguishing fluid exits immediately after opening the valves, reducing the response time of the system to fire detection and preventing the fire from spreading further.
Finally, in systems filled with pressurized extinguishing fluid, less powerful and less expensive pumps and pressure accumulators can be used in comparison to the unfilled systems, which in case of fire only increase the pressure prevailing in the supply line to the pressure necessary for extinction. This advantage is particularly noticeable in systems in which quenching fluid is applied under high pressure to produce a quenching mist.
A disadvantage of the systems described above, however, is the considerable manufacturing, assembly and maintenance costs for the valve devices used in these systems and the possibly necessary control of the valves. In addition, there is a risk that the valves fail in case of fire, so that a fight against the fire is impossible.
The object of the invention is to provide a device of the type mentioned above with simple and inexpensive means that enables a safe response.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a device according to claim 1 or 5.
In a device according to the invention, the supply lines are filled with extinguishing fluid. The inflow of extinguishing fluid into the per se open extinguishing nozzles is closed in the rest state by a rupture disc, which is arranged in the region of the respective extinguishing nozzles associated terminal end of the connecting line. In this way, the invention utilizes the advantages of a filled system for fire fighting by the use of a simple, inexpensive rupture disc and also allows a safe response of the device. So instruct one Fire fighting system designed according to the invention has short reaction times, since extinguishing fluid is already in the quiescent state in the immediate vicinity of the extinguishing nozzles and the distance traveled by the liquid to the nozzles is short.
In addition, the reliability of the device is significantly increased by dispensing with valves and possibly necessary control of them. In contrast to valves, the rupture disks used according to the invention can not settle. Since the use of rupture discs can be dispensed with a control, there is no longer a danger that this fails.
In addition, the use of rupture discs is usually less expensive than that of valves.
Preferably, the nozzle inserts used in a device according to the invention generate an extinguishing mist. With such an extinguishing mist, a fire with a small amount of extinguishing agent can be effectively combat. The pressures required for the generation of such a mist of the Löschließids are up to 300 bar.
Preferably, the static pressure of the extinguishing fluid is equal to the ambient pressure. In this way, the effort required to maintain the static pressure, which is always necessary in the case of the known filled systems, can be avoided.
Alternatively, to monitor leaks, the quiescent pressure of the quenching fluid may be higher than the ambient pressure but lower than the bursting pressure. In this way For example, a pressure drop and thus a leakage in the filled supply line can be detected via a pressure sensor arranged in the filled supply line, which detects the pressure drop in the supply line associated with a leakage.
Depending on the particular local conditions, it may also be expedient if a plurality of extinguishing nozzles are connected to the connection end of the supply line via a branch piece. In this embodiment of the invention, the inflow of extinguishing fluid to more than one extinguishing nozzle is simultaneously closed by a rupture disk in the idle state. This is particularly useful when extinguishing nozzles in case of fire necessarily need to be applied simultaneously with extinguishing fluid to protect a particular object or a specific area section. If necessary, the extinguishing nozzles can each be connected via an intermediate line to the branch piece in order to ensure a flat or spatial coverage of a particular area.

Each of the
The
In the
In this idle state of the device 1, the main supply line 6 (FIG. 1) or 16 (FIG. 2) and
The
As soon as the pressure above the bursting pressure of the
It is understood that as an alternative to the above-described embodiments also in the extinguishing

- Device according to claim 5, characterised in that the extinguishing nozzles (21) are in each case connected via an intermediate line (22) to the branching element (23).
