Abstract

Selon une réalisation de cette invention, le commutateur d'un central téléphonique adapte une tranche de temps dans une trame de multiplexage temporel entrante par rapport à une trame à mode de transfert asynchrone en fonction d'une connexion de canal virtuel à mode de transfert asynchrone (ATM-VCC) définie, et modifie également de manière dynamique un nombre de cellules ATM de la trame ATM pour la connexion de canal virtuel définie ATM en fonction d'un nombre changeant de connexions exécutées au moyen d'une matrice (40) de connexion ATM du central téléphonique. Le central comprend la matrice de commutation ATM, un port (100) émetteur et un port (200) récepteur. Un signal de synchronisation intrabande est transporté dans une trame ATM acheminée par la matrice de commutation ATM du port émetteur au port récepteur en vue de coordonner une structure de trame changeante entre le port émetteur et le port récepteur en fonction du nombre changeant de connexions. Selon une mise en oeuvre, le nombre de cellules ATM de la trame ATM pour la connexion de canal virtuel définie ATM varie entre un et soixante quatre, et une cellule ATM de la trame ATM pour la connexion de canal virtuel définie ATM véhicule onze tranches de temps.
