Abstract

The method involves passing the baskets (4,5,8) with items to be washed through at least one light barrier (11) in the washing container (6) and driving signal variations from the resulting variations in light interruptions, from which the loading of wash items in the washing container is determined. Loading detection is carried out before the start of the wash program. Independent claims are also included for the following: a program-controlled dishwasher.
