- the slide can occupy three positions, one position intermediate (see Figures 1, 3 and 6) in which jaw 5 is slightly away from jaw 3 by so as to leave the slot 4, the latter having a width less than cable diameter 30, but slightly greater than the thickness of the legs 33 so that the slide can pass freely on rider 32 by pivoting on the sleeves 34. It should be noted that the slide, according to the invention, can thus be used for both one-way and in the other since the body 1 can tilt freely as well in one way or the other as on the legs 20.
- the second position of the slide is a position open which allows the slide to be mounted on the cable 30 (see Figures 2, 5 and 7), the jaw 5 being tilted so that the slot 4 is wide enough to allow the passage through it of the cable 30.
- the third position is a safety position (see figure 8). This position is automatically obtained if the handle 21 is subjected to traction in the event drop for example and in this case the jaw 5 is tight so as to cooperate against the jaw fixed 3, the slot 4 being thus closed.
- the slide by construction, occupies the first position and if we want to move the jaw in the second position, press button 11 (see figures 5 and 7), axis 25, pushed by the tilting towards the top of the handle 21, then fits into the notch 12 by sliding in channel 26. During the sliding of the axis 25 this is guided by the cams 27 which are inclined and control the tilting of the jaw 5 on its axis 6.
- axis 25 escapes the notch 12, the pusher returning to its position initial under the action of the thickness of the material elastic 8. Note that in this position intermediate, axis 25 is slightly away from the bottom of the channel 26 thanks to the thickness 28 (see FIG. 6). If one traction is applied to the handle 21 (see FIG. 8), axis 25 is pulled down and compresses the thickness flexible and elastic 28; during this movement, the cam 27 forces heel 7 to switch in the closing direction of the slot 4 corresponding to the safety position.

Description
The present invention relates to a slide for lifeline.
The invention relates, more particularly, to a slide intended to be mounted on a lifeline fixed horizontally along a wall, said slide being intended to be connected by a cable to a harness or to a belt, worn by a worker working along the wall to protect it in case of accidental fall.
One of the aims of the present invention is to achieve a slide which can easily be mounted on the line of life, which can easily slide on it and which offers great security.
The slide, according to the invention, is intended to be used with a horizontal lifeline including a cable extending along a wall and connected to it by supports, said slide being of the type comprising a body having a gutter in which the cable, a handle intended to receive one of the ends a lanyard the other end of which is connected to a harness and a movable jaw so as to allow to form a slit in the gutter in order to be able to climb the slide on the cable, said slide being characterized in that it includes means for maintaining the jaw slightly apart in a first intermediate position so as to provide a slot corresponding to the thickness of the cable supports, means for controlling the jaw spacing to enlarge the slot in a second opening position in order to be able to mount the slide on the cable and means for automatically placing the slide in a safe position if a traction is applied to the handle, the movable jaw being tilted so that the slot is completely closed.
Thanks to this arrangement, it is very easy to mount the slide on the cable, which can easily slide along the cable, even to the right of the supports, and if the user falls, the slot is closed.
According to a constructive characteristic, the jaw mobile is articulated on an axis and has a heel mobile inside the body against the action of means elastic tending to bring the movable jaw to a position closing the slot, while the handle is supported by a movable axis in a heel channel, the body comprising a cam with which the axis of the handle, said cam and said channel being inclined in direction opposite from the vertical so that when the axis of the handle is moved down, the jaw tends to switch to the safety position, while when said axis of the handle is moved upwards, the jaw tends to tilt towards the open position.
According to another characteristic, the heel has a transverse light in which slides, against the action of elastic means, a pusher comprising a notch likely to be brought opposite the axis of the handle so that said axis can be moved upwards so that the jaw can be tilted towards the open position.
According to yet another constructive characteristic, the handle axis is pushed up by elastic means so as to bear against the pusher, in this position the jaw being held in the position intermediate.
Preferably, the elastic means tending to make tilt the movable jaw towards the closed position of the slot consist of a thickness of material elastic cellular plastic.
Finally, the elastic means tending to push towards the top the handle axis in the channel are made up by a thickness of elastic cellular plastic inserted between the bottom of the channel and said axis.
The invention will now be described with more details with reference to a particular embodiment given by way of example only and shown in the drawings annexed, in which:
Figure 1 est une vue en perspective d'un coulisseau, selon l'invention, celui-ci étant dans la position intermédiaire.FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a slide, according to the invention, the latter being in the intermediate position.
Figure 2 is a perspective view, the slide being in the open position.
Figure 3 shows in perspective the slide in the intermediate position mounted on a lifeline.
Figure 4 and Figure 5 are perspective views with cutouts and respectively showing the slide in the intermediate and open position.
Figure 6 est une vue en coupe suivant la ligne 6-6 de la figure 1.Figure 6 is a sectional view along line 6-6 of figure 1.
Figure 7 est une vue en coupe suivant la ligne 7-7 de la figure 2.Figure 7 is a sectional view along line 7-7 in Figure 2.
Figure 8 is a view similar to Figures 6 and 7, but the slide occupies an active position in which the user is assumed to have dropped.

des moyens élastiques 8.In the heel 7 is made a delimited
The body 1 1 is provided with two
The
Channel 26 is inclined relative to the vertical so that its bottom is closer to the means elastic 8 as its upper end.
The
tronconiques 34.As shown in Figure 3, the slider is
intended to be used on a lifeline constituted by

pattes 20. The slide can occupy three positions, one position
intermediate (see Figures 1, 3 and 6) in which
passage à travers celle-ci du câble 30.The second position of the slide is a position
open which allows the slide to be mounted on the cable 30
(see Figures 2, 5 and 7), the
Finally, the third position is a safety position
(see figure 8). This position is automatically
obtained if the
son axe 6.The slide, by construction, occupies the first
position and if we want to move the jaw in the second
position, press button 11 (see figures
5 and 7),
To bring the slide back to the first
position, just release the
When the traction exerted on the
We understand that such a device offers great security and that its particularly simple use allows to avoid any risk of improper operation.
