Definitions
- the invention relates to an adduct compound, obtainable by thermal reaction of a reaction mixture containing at least two components A and B, wherein
- component A a compound with at least one olefinically unsaturated double or triple bond as component A and b) a compound with at least one olefinically unsaturated double bond which has an electron-withdrawing group on at least one of the C atoms involved in at least one olefinic double bond, as component B.
- Adduct mixture is then treated radically or peroxidatively, a process for its preparation and the use of such and similar adduct compounds as tackifiers or binders.
- auxiliaries which are said to have a positive influence on the initial adhesion of the adhesive to the respective substrate.
- auxiliaries are usually referred to as tackifiers.
- Conventional tackifiers are produced, for example, from petrochemical raw materials. Ultimately, they derive from oil or natural gas. Examples of such tackifiers are coumarone resins, polyterpene resins, petrochemical hydrocarbon resins, polyisobutylene or polybutylene.
- the multi-stage reaction steps required to manufacture these building blocks are complex and also pollute the environment.
- Such tackifiers thus contribute to an increased degradation of the oil and natural gas deposits and, due to their poor biodegradability, also pollute waters and landfills.
- tackifiers are known, which are obtained from natural resins, for example rosin (balsam resin, root resin, tall resin), acroid, benzoin, amber, Dammar, dragon blood, Elemi, rubber gut, Kopal, mastic or Sandrak or their modifications.
- natural resins for example rosin (balsam resin, root resin, tall resin), acroid, benzoin, amber, Dammar, dragon blood, Elemi, rubber gut, Kopal, mastic or Sandrak or their modifications.
- Such tackifiers generally have a glass-like morphology and have glass transition temperatures which are usually more than about 40 ° C.
- a disadvantage of the natural resins is that they have a high allergenic potential which is probably caused by residual terpenes, complex extraction is necessary and they can generally only be incorporated as a solution or as a melt in adhesives, in particular in adhesive dispersions.
- such natural resins are only obtained in a few countries, which may limit the availability of the natural resin
- WO 95/11284 describes binders based on oleochemical reaction products which, by reacting at least one fatty substance which has, for example, an olefinically unsaturated double bond, a carboxyl group or an acid anhydride group, with at least one mono- or polyfunctional compound which is suitable for reaction with the functional groups of the fatty substances capable are available.
- the publication describes, for example, the implementation of the functional groups mentioned above with corresponding polyfunctional compounds, a molecular weight build-up being achieved by polyaddition or polycondensation. A radical polymerization of the starting materials and the use of such or the products described there as tackifiers is not mentioned in the publication.
- the patent application with the file number DE 19755535.7 also relates to binders based on oleochemical reaction products which are obtained by reacting at least one fatty substance with at least one carboxylate group or acid anhydride group and at least one polyfunctional compound which is capable of reacting with the functional groups of the compounds mentioned, and subsequent reaction of the compounds formed in this way are obtainable with a compound which is monofunctional to the carboxylate groups or acid anhydride groups.
- the reaction products described are used as binders.
- a radical or peroxidative implementation or use of the products as a tackifier is not described in the publication.
- EP-B 0 633 898 describes ionic polymers which cure through multivalent ions to form high-quality polymers in terms of application technology.
- the polymers are based on polyvalent carboxylic acids which have 1 to 10 carboxylic acid groups per molecule and which can be obtained, for example, by an ene reaction or by a Diels-Alder reaction between unsaturated fatty acids and, for example, maleic anhydride.
- a radical or peroxidative treatment of such structures or their use as tackifiers is not mentioned in the publication.
- the compounds known from the prior art and obtainable from natural, renewable (in particular oleochemical) raw materials have often inherent surface stickiness.
- the compounds described above may also contain a proportion of migratable monomers which, if appropriate, adversely affect the adhesion to certain substrate surfaces or the cohesion.
- An object of the present invention was therefore to provide compounds which do not have the disadvantages of the prior art mentioned above.
- adduct compounds such as those obtained by thermal reaction of a reaction mixture containing at least two components A and B, wherein
- component B a compound with at least one olefinically unsaturated double or triple bond as component A and c) a compound with at least one olefinically unsaturated double or triple bond which has one on at least one of the C atoms involved in at least one olefinically unsaturated double or triple bond has electron-withdrawing group, as component B
- component A reacts with at least one olefinically unsaturated double or triple bond in component B to form a covalent CC bond to form an adduct mixture and that in the adduct mixture existing adduct molecules at least predominantly at least one radical polymerizable Have double bond, and the adduct mixture is then treated with free radicals or peroxidatively, are available.
- the invention accordingly relates to an adduct compound, obtainable by thermal reaction of at least two components A and B, wherein
- component B e) a compound with at least one olefinically unsaturated double or triple bond as component A and f) a compound with at least one olefinically unsaturated double or triple bond which has at least one of the C atoms involved in at least one olefinically unsaturated double or triple bond has electron-withdrawing group, as component B
- component A reacts with at least one olefinically unsaturated double or triple bond in component B to form a covalent CC bond to form an adduct mixture and at least the adduct molecules present in the adduct mixture predominantly still have at least one free-radically polymerizable double bond, and the adduct mixture is then treated free-radically or peroxidatively.
- tackifiers are understood to mean compounds with the aid of which suitable adhesives can be used to formulate adhesives which, compared to adhesives without a corresponding tackifier, have an improved adhesive strength, in particular an improved initial adhesive strength.

Description

1. Herstellung der thermischen Umsetzungsprodukte mit Maleinsäureanhydπd:
Variante A:
1_ = konjugierte Fettsäure (HENKEL)
